  1. For a hundred quid I'd expect mine to turn up with DNA evidence of Willie Irvine's sweat.
  2. Don't worry, it wasn't me. EDIT: I did have that Dundee Utd shirt when I was a kid, but that was the genuine article, and as close as I could get to our Adidas effort.
  3. With Celtic having the title wrapped up I think the Aberdeen game as the final match is a gamble for the TV schedulers in the hope it is a meaningful tie. Would be fun if we had 2nd place wrapped up by then, though
  4. The clubs sold out to TV a long time ago and the split is a direct result of that (to ensure they had sufficient OF matches). The delays in fixtures, like last minute rescheduling and stupid kick-off times, are the price we pay. I'd love to see the back of the split and return the league back to a proper structure, but while the OF still run the show (and the member clubs suck up to them) it's never going to happen.
  5. Watched the SPFL Official highlights on YouTube and the MFCTV version - you can see much better on the MFCTV vidoe how poor the pitch was. ICT's goal looked like an obvious foul on Moore, but our defenders made it easy by heading the ball to Christie for a free shot. 2 cracking goals though and at the business end of the season it's all about points on the board. Great way to bounce back after the Killie game. It's a big ask, but as it stands, 2nd place is in our own hands (just win all our remaining games!) - can't get much better than that.
  6. For all the people that like to say we never win our "must win" games - here's one for the collection.
  7. Always enjoy coming onto these threads after FT to read all the doom merchants mid game.
  8. At least its not baseball where they play 162 games each before they get to the playoff stage (which is effectively wiping the points off everyone). And even after 162 games the teams haven't still all played each other.
  9. I don't care about that, but I do care that teams like ours are regularly screwed out of home gates, and that the integrity of the league is negatively impacted by teams not having played each other the same amount of total times (or the same amount of times home/away). This could be partially addressed by reverting to the split of gate money, but the teams like Celtic who want a more competitive league aren't going to ever go back in that direction in case it results in a more competitive league.
  10. I would rather see them announce the split is being scrapped at the start of the season and re-introduce a league system based on playing the same number of games home and away.
  11. I agree he won't win it, but for me "What might have been", given the massive turnover in personnel, is that we could have been fighting out with Hibs. Disappointed with the cup results, but pleasantly surprised how competitive we have been at the top end of the table.
  12. If we finish 2nd, he has a chance, but our woeful performance in the Cups this season will count against him (despite his success in rebuilding a team after losing the core of his last squad).
  13. Apparently. Twitter saying that only Lawson, Hollis and Ramsden are out the squad. And Hollis has been recovering quicker than expected and was close to a return.
  14. Evening Times saying Faddy will be a late fitness test as McCall doesn't want to take any chances on his hammy. Meanwhile, Twitter reporting that Kerr and Erwin back fit and in the squad.
  15. Ach, just put the guy out of his misery and admit that you are the seller and you faked it yourself.
  16. Big risk/reward with Gordon, I'd imagine. If he stays fit, he'll be a cracking signing for any team. If his injury problems return, he's the waste of a contract. Pay per play would be ideal for a club like ourselves, but I could also see him picking up a player/coach contract somewhere so, if he does get injured again, he will still be able to earn his keep.
  17. on the plus side, your quality of posts has remained steady
  18. Aye, Craigan was a silky addition to our attacking force last season.
  19. Aye, you must miss Big Higgy.
  20. MFC TV typically has their own footage, although once in a while they just post BBC Alba's video up instead. The Ross County highlights looked like they were from the club's camera, but I didn't see the Vigurs piece on there either.
  21. It would have been great for McCall to add a Cup win with us to his CV, but he has certainly exceeded all my expectations with his time at the club. His entire approach to the game has made us an attractive team to watch - of course, with the downside that when it's not working it can be painful. I believe, however, that statistically he is now our most successful postwar manager for the top division. His other great attribute is his media relations. He always comes across upbeat and enthusiastic, and he continually tries to talk up the Scottish game - both at our club and our opponents. He has certainly made mistakes (learned from some and not from others) but his successes outweigh those and I would be very happy for him to sign an extension for another year or two.
  22. He's certainly made all the right noises about wanting to stay and seems to have found a place where he can secure regular first team football - so still hopeful he will be here next season.
  23. In all the interviews I have seen/heard Ainsworth give he has been saying how much he is enjoying his football here and how he would like to extend his time at the club. Given how much McCall likes to play with a pacy winger, I'm hopeful Lionel will take a deal for next season.
  24. Cooper was a great asset to that team, no doubt. Wee Tommy assembled that squad from back to front and started off making us hard to beat. Adding guys like Russell transitioned us to a more attacking force, and DC was icing on the cake. I remember when he became available that a move to Hearts seemed most likely. Then, I was reading the Evening Times at Argyle Street station and saw he had joined us. Was delighted at the time, and the Russell/Cooper combination was a joy to watch at times.
