  1. Of course, the flip side to that argumemt is that it's going to be difficult for any player to break into such a settled and successful side - the fortunate situation we have been in the past couple of seasons. If we were in a comfortable mid-table slot the managent team might be more willing to blood a few more youngsters. I also still need convincing that a second tier Dutch team is of higher quality than our first team from last season.
  2. No idea, but I'm hoping whoever we bring in will be supported by a few Lee Erwin and Craig Moore appearances this season.
  3. It will be sitting there a long time if they are waiting for me to pop in and pick it up.
  4. Ach, give him a break. He's excited now that he's learned how to cut and paste his google search results.
  5. The transfer window doesn't close until the 31st of August and we kick off on the 1st. So it's not beyond the realms of possibility that a signing or two arrives after our season has started (either in August or even as a free agent after that). Obviously it would be ideal to have everyone signed before that, but if players are weighing up offers until the last few days of the window, we (and other clubs) may have to wait.
  6. Like I was saying, I'd rather we signed Dougie Imrie than have another day of this patter.

  8. My concern with Sutton is that he only hit that form in his last few months because he was looking for a move and wanted to impress potential suitors. However, if McCall has an idea of how he might fit into a rebuilt squad I'm willing to give him a chance.
  9. One of the first players that made an impression on me as a kid. Fair to say his style was "no nonsense". Had a cracking shot on him too and not afraid to have a pop from 40 yards.
  10. The point of the subscription, however, isn't to obtain discounts - it's to defray the administration costs of the society.
  11. He's been made an offer with a deadline to respond. We'll get the answer by the deadline and move forward whatever the answer.
  12. Mine showed up a few minutes ago.
  13. McCall said all the players offered new contracts were set a deadline.
  14. I would imagine so, although it was good to know something has been sent out as I haven't received that email.
  15. Might find one on here somewhere. Ah, there it is.
  16. I think his injury set that back a bit. He was around the fringes of the first team prior to that. Hoping he gets more of chance this season.
  17. That doesn't negate the fact they believed he was worth an extension after he had been on their books for a year.
  18. I watched Wright come through when I lived in Felixstowe and went to the Ipswich games every week. He was tremendous as a youngster - like a young Randolph. No idea what went wrong later in his career, but he undoubtedly had outstanding ability. Seemed to be a confidence issue as much as anything,
  19. Not only did Man City sign Nielsen, but they also gave him a contract extension - so they must have seen something there.
  20. A sign that the journalists in the Scottish media are clueless when it comes to English lower leagues. I don't recall any of them ever linking us to Randolph, Ramsden etc. until they were pretty much done deals.
  21. Because we've not all got bucket heids?
  22. An ugly guy with Nike boots is going to sign in the next 5 weeks. Oh, and a guy with dark hair over 5ft 6" tall is also on the cards.
