  1. That probably means you were sitting in someone else's seat!
  2. I mentioned this on Shoutbox last night, but the tannoy sounded good on the internet stream.
  3. It was McCall's fault for getting us into the CL. Looking forward to a bottom 6 finish this season so we don't have the same worries.
  4. I don't recall Bob Malcolm contributing anything that led us to 3rd place in the league. Let's face it - you strive to be the dissenting voice. I'll bet you are one of those guys that loves to listen to unknown bands and then ditches them when they become popular. You complain that Ramsden's experience is worthless because it was League 2. Higdon's experience was not in league two and he did the job he was signed to do - but you complain about him too. No doubt you would have turned down the signing of Ross McCormack and Skippy due to their obvious lack of SPL experience. Likewise for Dougie Arnott with no senior experience in the game. The days of signing a Porter or a Jutkiewicz are long gone. You offer no alternatives, just criticisms that are, at times, laughable. When anyone points out the fallacies in your arguments you ignore them rather than defend them. Once you learn how to read a balance sheet, I'm sure you will start to appreciate the position Motherwell are in when it comes to bringing in new players.
  5. steelboy needs a few players to hate. He is still upset that Higdon's goal tally helped us reach 3rd place. The fact that he continues to criticize the signings of a manager who has just led us out to a CL match speaks for itself. If anyone feels the need to question a new player's ability based on one competitive outing (in the CL!), then that also speak for itself. I remember hearing Arsene Wenger saying that when a player switches leagues it takes 6 months for them to adjust and settle in. I expect steelboy would disagree with that too, just for the chance to start another argument.
  6. That's right. In one of his interviews, McCall said he think Saunders should be playing right back 'at this stage of his career'.
  7. We signed him because he was cheap, experienced and can play in a number of positions. It might have passed you by, but we had no money to spend. I'm sure the club would welcome your input into who we could have brought in as a holding midfielder for the same price.
  8. All it takes is UEFA to decide to dish out a fine of 40 or 50 thousand quid (which is not exactly unknown) and we have lost a player's salary for a year. After all the efforts the fans have made to put extra cash into the club, that would be a real slap in the face - and all thanks to a few eejits.
  9. Up in the north east (Southern Connecticut) "working" from home this afternoon.
  10. You won't get anything until a minute or so before the game kicks off. atdhenet.tv and http://www.thefirstrow.eu/ both have it listed and are usually pretty reliable, so hopefully one of those will come online in 10 minutes or so.
  11. Lineup from the Beeb: 01 Randolph 03 Hammell 05 Hutchinson 15 Ramsden 04 Law 06 Hateley 07 Humphrey 14 Lasley 08 Ojamaa 09 Higdon 11 Murphy
  12. Good job I never mentioned my pulled pork sandwich then
  13. I'm having some Greek yogurt with my lunch. Is that bad?
  14. As long as we don't play as poorly as we did against Nancy (after the big build up) we'll be fine. We proved last season that we have a team that sets up well away from home, so as long as we stay in the tie tonight, we have a decent chance of grabbing an away goal if needed. Bring it on.
  15. If we qualified for the group stages, next time we played "The Rangers" we should all be waving wads of fivers at their fans.
  16. Normally, yes. But when you look at league results of teams playing the weekend in between a 2-leg Euro tie, they tend to be pretty underwhelming. I'm sure County will looking to take advantage of that.
  17. I don't know if we are interested or not, but one fan's view is pretty meaningless. We can't even agree on here how good/bad our own players are.
  18. The hardy bunch that hit Boghead one wet Wednesday night to watch the thrilling 0 - 0 draw.
  19. Is it just me, or is the apostrophe in front of Well upside down?
  20. Exactly. Reminds me of the Eddie Izzard piece about flying. "Why do they tell you how to fasten your seat belt? I feel that knowledge should be a minimum requirement before stepping on a plane".
  21. I don't disagree, and it makes me laugh to see his posts - a number of which I don't think he believes himself. The key, though, is it should only be a 'part' of being a 'Well supporter, not an entire philosophy. The irony being that, in 40 years' time he will undoubtedly end up as the auld yin with the tartan rug and flask of soup in the POD (or wherever) moaning to the youngsters how great a team we had in the McCall era compared to the current shite.
  22. It's either: We Are Having a Laugh or We All Hate Annie Lennox
  23. Μετάβαση Μάδεργουελ! (If google translate is to be believed)
