  1. Dean Cornelius on the the telly here, playing in the Harrogate v Doncaster game.
  2. George was part of the revolution at Ipswich when Bobby Robson brought in his Dutch players. Great team to watch and very successful for a "provincial" side. Hope he kicks its arse.
  3. Derek Adams quickly coming unstuck at Morecambe.
  4. Looking at the decor in the apartment I'm guessing we're keeping him in a safe house at a undisclosed location.
  5. For whatever reason, managers rarely drop a keeper, regardless of poor form. It's something that has been happening across the leagues all my football watching life.
  6. Aberdeen have been doing well, but struggled to break down Ross County last weekend and were saved from going a goal down thanks to a very marginal VAR decision. If Maswanhise has a go at their defence, we have a chance. Our record at Pittodrie hasn't been too bad in recent years.
  7. I think Clarke did a good job of taking the most shambolic international setup I have seen in my lifetime and turning back into a team that could at least qualify for finals again. Even if the process wasn't pretty at times. However, both finals severely exposed his limitations as a manager. I was willing to cut him some slack after the first one, but the most recent performance at the Euros proved not only had he not learned anything, but had actually regressed. The game against Hungary summed it up perfectly - a must-win game with zero shots on target. I don't see any improvement while he his still in charge. Congrats to Wilson, though - well deserved based on his recent performances.
  8. I hate this post and anybody who agrees with it.
  9. He also signed a 1 year extension at the end of May, so I assume he is very much still part of Utd's plans, even if it's currently from off the bench.
  10. I think Goodwin wants to play one up top, and Moult plays much better with a sidekick.
  11. He had to make a quick exit at the end of the commentary, as he said he didn't think he was safe.
  12. SK has spoken at length (as always) about defence being our biggest weakness last season. Although you hardly need a UEFA Coaching badge to have spotted that. Difficult to tell how much the injured defenders will add, but Liam Gordon has made a difference, and we definitely looked more organised. The biggest difference is that, so far, we have cut out most of the stupid mistakes. Promising signs, but very early days. We won 3 and drew 1 in our first four league games last season before we went into meltdown, so no chickens being counted yet.
  13. I'm still unconvinced about some of Casey's defending, but he was definitely a top performer yesterday and put the fear into St Johnstone's defence every time he came up the park for a free kick or corner.
  14. MOTM respects the confidentiality that makes it such a safe space. I can confirm, however, Tony did not vote for himself.
  15. The shot that came in at Oxborough was hit hard and at pretty close range. Could he have done better? As every headline writer in every newspaper has said multiple times this week, definitely maybe.
  16. We were definitely the better team, and should have put it out of reach in the second half before St Johnstone equalised. A fair result, even if a late goal sometimes makes it feel like we nicked it.
  17. Levein the dream. Meanhwile, take your pick...
  18. It looked 100% on the line to me, I just didn't think it was a foul - and from the reaction, neither did the players. Mind you, with some of the rulings these days, you can never be sure.
  19. They were correct to be unimpressed - he sold that one.
  20. What a joke. Didn't look like a pen in real time, and 17 hours of VAR confirms.
  21. 4 - 1 against Livi and 5 - 1 against Ross County in May.
  22. My money is still on 8 league goals or less. I'm confident, however, he'll score more for St Mirren than he did for Killie.
  23. By all accounts Naismith played him in a deeper role early in the season, which clearly isn't his strength. Of course, he will take time to adjust to a new system and new team mates, so I wouldn't write him off at this point. I'm not surprised Hearts are struggling, though. I don't rate Naismith as a coach, and they got away with some poor performances under him last season thanks to Shankland's goals. Even when we were bad last season, you could at least see the team had a plan and a shape - we either didn't execute or made stupid mistakes (or both). Hearts just look clueless right now, and long may it continue.
  24. I was too busy laughing at Michael Stewart banging on about how "this team are there for taking" Not by this Hearts team, Michael. They were even worse than they were at Fir Park.
