  1. Not even first on this board mate.
  2. I'd be up for it again next season. It's a cheap way to sponsor a player and a chance to get your hands on a shirt.

    Home Tie Venue

Aye, sorry. I was really responding to Neil's comment: I don't think the fans input will have much influence on a decision like this, but no harm in throwing it out there.

I think a poll is irrelevant. We will end up at a ground based on who is willing to accommodate us, cost and who has a UEFA certificate.

    Orange? That's amber ya heathen!
  6. If we lose Smith and Hughes, promote a couple of our youngsters and bring in 2 new players we will be in decent shape for a top 6 challenge.
  7. When Malpas left, Gary Mac said he wasn't interested in managing a team with resources as limited as ours. Considering we will likely have less now than we had then (thanks to the new pitch), I doubt he would be interested.
  8. I saw McGhee quoted as having an "agreement" with Boyle about these things. I would guess part of his improved deal included being able to talk to certain teams about job openings should the opportunity arise.
  9. I really don't care if a manager is a "Motherwell man". McLean and McGhee weren't and have, for me, done well. Davie Hay was another guy who did a good job and Butcher managed our time going through administration exceptionally well. If we do need a new boss, give me someone with a good CV any day of the week.
  10. I thought Sheridan has made a decent contribution in his last few games, and that is what I'd expect from a youngster joining a new team i.e. improvement after he has been around his new team mates for a while. If he continued that improvement, I'd be happy to see him back next season.
  11. If the Hearts fans have a decent turn out, and don't turn their backs on the game, then the sponsors will not be crawling back anywhere near Fir Park for next year.
  12. Or they might have the day off.
  13. Paul Lambert. You heard it hear first
  14. And finish above you in the league (again).

Where's the *shakes heid* smiley when you need it?
  16. If it's between us and St. Midden, it won't be an issue. We'll manage to find some way to cheat ourselves in.

It's their crosses that would worry me.

If it's supposed to be 3 Kiwis, why don't they use KKK on their logo?

    The Split

There have been a number of complaints from various teams and their fans about the play-off system. Especially in seasons where there has been large points differences between the participants. I think it's pretty unfair myself and would prefer something like top 2 are promoted automatically and 3rd place places 3rd bottom in the EPL. The league is supposed to be about consistency over a season - if you want knockout competitions, that what the Cups are for.

    Well Worth It!

Of course, all that means is that it works for some people; not that it works for all users. It sounds like others are having problems.

They let Stokes play for Falkirk.
  22. It's not about scaremongering. When the Setanta contract was agreed, clubs would likely change their financial projections for the next few years to reflect this. Having a guaranteed income stream allows you to make borrowings against that stream and pay, for example, larger salaries now in the expectation of being able to fund them from future income. If that future income has now been cut, it means all those projections also have to be adjusted downwards.
  23. That was (an alleged) contract though, not a pre-contract. If any player decided they didn't want to come to Fir Park after agreeing a pre-contract, I doubt McGhee would force them. We don't want anybody here that doesn't want to play for the club.
  24. But apart from that, no other problems? If we are looking for another keeper, I'd be happy to see him back.
