  1. I'll not be able to phone him up tonight then.
  2. Pretty sure I used to watch Georgie Gent on the Saturday afternoon World of Sport wrestling in the 1970's. (Or maybe he was the sophisticated con artist in The Persuaders).
  3. Don't get much of a cut from that deal. Hope he gets some decent game time though.
  4. I've been half expecting Bevis to make a centre forward appearance.
  5. Looks like Hearts started focusing on our game about 15 minutes into the PAOK tie.
  6. That's why I quoted my source (although in this case ESPN's stats are the same).
  7. And played under SK when he was at County.
  8. Ross Stewart on loan to reunite with his old boss. He's still in the final stages of recovery from his achilles injury so that will save us the effort of crocking him in training.
  9. Soccerbase says he's played 4 league games (started in 3) and came on as a sub in their League Cup tie.
  10. Luton seem to be using the model of spending as little as possible (in EPL terms) in the hope they finish just above the relegation spots. Given the massive amounts involved in parachute payments and TV revenues, it's pretty low risk as it means you can still rake it in even if/when you get relegated, and the parachute payment gives you a jump start on your Championship rivals' budgets the following season. If you are one of the rare teams that manages to stay up for a couple of seasons then the financial rewards are immense. Of course, it can make for terrible games.
  11. Wee Al not not making the squad for Luton's league cup game tonight. Wonder if he has time to find himself a move.
  12. Zdravkovski is a defensive mid, and Butcher is too if SK wants to play him there once he's fit. I'd be (pleasantly) surprised if we see more than 2 new faces, and be happy if one of them is a decent striker.
  13. For the youngsters reading this, Morrisey used to be in a famous band before he turned into a whack-job conspiracy promoting, racist bigot.
  14. And if SK's war chest is empty there may still be options in play with free agents after the official slamming.
  15. 'Fess up. Which one of you got hold of Kev's number?
  16. I think he fits in well with a back three. And, of course, a consistent run of starts makes a big difference. As long as he keeps his passing simple he is fine.
  17. Surprisingly, The Scotsman doesn't even have him listed in their options. They do have Robinson in the running. EDIT: I see The Herald has SK listed, though.
  18. Been following Kev's league form with FC Groningen Three starts in his first three games. Game 1: 3 shots, 0 on target, 0 goals (in a 4 - 1 win) Game 2: 2 shots, 1 on target, 0 goals (in a 1 - 0 loss) Game 3: 4 shots, 1 on target, 0 goals (in a 0 - 0 draw) Currently sitting 7th.
  19. I always enjoy a game against the Jambos.
  20. That seems to have been Killie's superpower so far this season; and it's been working. Great result, especially considering the injury situation, and you can't beat a winner at the death. Keeping us above Rangers and equal with Celtic is a nice bonus too.
  21. Tell me your age without telling me your age. Full backs always took the penalties because their main talent was blootering the ball. Meanwhile, take your pick...
  22. Hope Casey paid at the gate to watch that one go in.
  23. 6 month loan to Kidderminster Harriers.
  24. Spittall and McGinn were regularly slagged off as useless in their first season, so not sure that is a good measure of player quality. Same for Goss who many fans were saying was no big loss in the summer. There are countless examples of players we have signed taking a few months to settle in, but every August we see the same old posters rolling out the same tired script. I can only imagine how bad it would be if we'd lost a league match this season. Part of the fun of watching a team like ours is seeing new players and youngsters develop over the course of a season. That is never a straight line progression. If you want a team to buy instant success then Motherwell is not for you. Even Chelsea are struggling with that approach. Grab a beer (or beverage of choice) and enjoy the ride. It's why we love the game.
  25. Should be even easier then (even though we are slashing the wages budget this season). Been waiting patiently to see your list of top players we can afford (and who want to sign). Now would be the perfect time to share it.
