You're right about Ward, he is looking a lot more solid these days. Having said that, it is obvious to me that our defence are not leaking many opportunities to the other team, so Ward hasn't actually had much to do. I can recall two good saves in the past month and a lot of him with the ball at his feet but not much else!
I'll always be grateful to him for his first half season with this football club. We were plummeting towards relegation with Hammy and he didn't inspire any confidence in his interviews, so SK was a breath of fresh air. He got the results that we needed on the pitch and also put in a lot of work getting players released to free up wages and steady this football club's finances.
After that, he didn't do so well, he managed to sign some pretty poor players and he became very indisciplined towards the end - perhaps due to the pressure he was under - but he didn't deserve abuse and threats.
Watching this on the Killie feed as ours is crap again (for me) and in the halftime messages they're asking their fans to pay for their grass pitch! Buy a square and get a wee certificate.
Hoping for a good run of performance and goals from Maswanhise before he heads off to the African Cup of Nations next month. I think we'll win and SK will go on a winless streak, although somehow keeping his job.
Must've missed this last month but very surprised to see that Aaron Taylor-Sinclair is now caretaker manager at Airdrie - currently leading them (with supersub Jake Hastie) to a win over Partick Thistle.
Edit: Drama! 1-1!
I thought Ward had a good game and was unfortunate for the third goal. He was left totally exposed by defensive dithering in front of him and did well to make the save initially.
Regarding the need for reinforcements, I wasn't too impressed by Robinson during SK's tenure but could he be a better fit with our current style of play?
Must be just me then. If I was getting £8,000 per week to play football in a beautiful town like Graz, I'd be happy for the rest of my life. Double or triple wages wouldn't persuade me to live in England.
