  1. I think we tried that some years ago with Villa, we got one player up an loan (Tarrant??) and he was gash. Don't know what happened to our little agreement after that.
  2. Owen Coyle is still between jobs, he might fancy a step down to get his managerial career back on track. With the number of players out of contract in the summer he might also fancy the prospect of building his own team (with no money!!). He'd be mad to take it but you never know, our managerial appointments since Wee Tommy left have all been a bit surprising (with the exception of Malpas). Talking of ex-players, what's Gary McAllister doing these days?
  3. I think that you would get very, very good odds on that outcome! Hopefully you're right.
  4. What happened to the boy Ferguson that turned out for the first XI earlier this season, is he still injured?
  5. Is Kerr still suspended? Might favour his pace at the back on this plastic pitch instead of Mick (who hasn't done much wrong by the way).
  6. If anything it was a free kick from the first challenge, he was already going down when Law made minimal contact with him in the box. No question of a dive, he was just knocked off balance.
  7. Oh, so maybe that's why Murray failed to impress whilst at Fir Park; he's actually a forward....
  8. That 's right! Just after the player of the year shortlist was announced and treacleteeth spat the dummy because no shellik players were on it. Higgy had a point to prove that day!
  9. That's the only time in my life that I can recall us scoring 4 goals against them and beating them, we put 3 past them last year and 4 a few seasons ago but wee didn't win those ones.
  10. Not the jug-eared bean-pole from Airdrie?? Surely a joke....
  11. ^ Good post, I think that it's time for us to develop from within both in terms of youth players and coaching staff too. We should be getting the likes of Keef and Hammy doing their coaching badges with solid job offers upon completion. It's a shame that Craggs didn't stay on as a coach, I see he's with the N.I.Youths now and he could have been good for us too.
  12. Not saying yes or no but it's a wee bit of balance and stability down the left side (among other things) that we need is it?
  13. Here you go, folks.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52EG34o4a1U http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZwBkkyM9KQ
  14. We already had one though, surely there can't two people in this world that fit this description?? I think that we're just going to have to take this season on the chin, avoid a relegation dog-fight if possible and push for sixth place. McCall's contract is up this summer, I think, so we thank him very much, let him go with our best wishes and give the job to Scott Leitch (we'll end up with a cheap option anyway, might as well be 'one of ours') with Keith Lasley either as assistant manager or academy coach to go with the final year of his playing contract. We need a dosser in charge who knows the youth set-up and the boys that show the most potential.
  15. The loan window is still open though, would expect to see two or three out this month.

  17. I'll take own goals, anything to get our 'goals for' tally moving up.
  18. Just seen the Kerr tackle, the highlights didn't show what happened to McManus first but he went down clutching his face. Any suggestion of retaliation? His body language before and after didn't suggest that he had been going for the ball in my opinion.
  19. I'm delighted to see Kerr being played in his favoured position and finally putting in the kind of performances that we thought he might be capable of. So I hope that O'Brien's arrival doesn't see him benched / shunted out to right mid again. We were all calling for McCall to sign a replacement for Hutchy but maybe he was already here!

    Lee Hollis

No hard feelings at all, best of luck to him today and hope he's on the winning team. Edit: Nope, despite their two senior keepers both being injured, Hollis still can't get a game! Jack Hamilton (presumably the youth keeper??) is starting with Hollis on the bench.
  21. Don't suppose you or your relatives know the Kirklands do you??
  22. My cousin lives in Palmerston North, he's the only 'well fan that I know of down there although there's a whole crowd of them that are originally from Larkhall.
  23. There's a hardback on ebay for £4.92, I'll be keeping an eye out for the paperback though; thanks for the recommendation Andy.
  24. If I remember correctly Mark McGhee was brutal in pre-season, taking the players over to Germany and working them until they puked. We really need a more disciplinarian approach to training.
