  1. Riiight, so we're seemingly being linked with anyone who's Irish now. Not sure if that's better or worse than being linked to anyone who's ever played for Bradford.
  2. Thought he might get the job purely because his wage demands might be lower than the other five. That's not to say that he won't turn out well, hopefully his previous scouting position will be of great benefit to us.
  3. As far as I can make out only Butcher and Black have officially been interviewed. The club had only previously said that two had already been interviewed with another two due next week - no names mentioned - but the media assumed them to be Baraclough, Shiels and the two Dutchmen.
  4. The new man won't be able to bring his own people until next season though. Don't think the club can afford to pay off Black and Marshall. Agree that we need a fresh new outlook though. Diet and fitness need looking at for sure.
  5. The BBC have just rehashed their Butcher piece to include Baraclough's name although without any quotes, sources or any real details other than ex-Sligo and Scunthorpe. Very lazy journalism.
  6. ^Glad that's all been sorted out then.
  7. They won more points than Hibs and the same amount as Partick, not a bad showing all things considered.
  8. Perhaps Thistle will loan us back Lawleff as we are in need a wee bit of pace down the left.
  9. ^Good post, was nodding in agreement with each point.
  10. Hoping it's not Airdrie away, we could end up being the fourth force of Lanarkshire....
  11. My Grand-dad was faced with this dilemma when Third Lanark folded and he opted for Motherwell so I'd be tempted to support the resurrected Thirds but in all honesty I'd have to say Scotland and Scotland only.
  12. I think we tried that some years ago with Villa, we got one player up an loan (Tarrant??) and he was gash. Don't know what happened to our little agreement after that.
  13. Owen Coyle is still between jobs, he might fancy a step down to get his managerial career back on track. With the number of players out of contract in the summer he might also fancy the prospect of building his own team (with no money!!). He'd be mad to take it but you never know, our managerial appointments since Wee Tommy left have all been a bit surprising (with the exception of Malpas). Talking of ex-players, what's Gary McAllister doing these days?
  14. I think that you would get very, very good odds on that outcome! Hopefully you're right.
  15. What happened to the boy Ferguson that turned out for the first XI earlier this season, is he still injured?
  16. Is Kerr still suspended? Might favour his pace at the back on this plastic pitch instead of Mick (who hasn't done much wrong by the way).
  17. If anything it was a free kick from the first challenge, he was already going down when Law made minimal contact with him in the box. No question of a dive, he was just knocked off balance.
  18. Oh, so maybe that's why Murray failed to impress whilst at Fir Park; he's actually a forward....
  19. That 's right! Just after the player of the year shortlist was announced and treacleteeth spat the dummy because no shellik players were on it. Higgy had a point to prove that day!
  20. That's the only time in my life that I can recall us scoring 4 goals against them and beating them, we put 3 past them last year and 4 a few seasons ago but wee didn't win those ones.
  21. Not the jug-eared bean-pole from Airdrie?? Surely a joke....
  22. ^ Good post, I think that it's time for us to develop from within both in terms of youth players and coaching staff too. We should be getting the likes of Keef and Hammy doing their coaching badges with solid job offers upon completion. It's a shame that Craggs didn't stay on as a coach, I see he's with the N.I.Youths now and he could have been good for us too.
  23. Not saying yes or no but it's a wee bit of balance and stability down the left side (among other things) that we need is it?
  24. Here you go, folks.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52EG34o4a1U http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZwBkkyM9KQ
  25. We already had one though, surely there can't two people in this world that fit this description?? I think that we're just going to have to take this season on the chin, avoid a relegation dog-fight if possible and push for sixth place. McCall's contract is up this summer, I think, so we thank him very much, let him go with our best wishes and give the job to Scott Leitch (we'll end up with a cheap option anyway, might as well be 'one of ours') with Keith Lasley either as assistant manager or academy coach to go with the final year of his playing contract. We need a dosser in charge who knows the youth set-up and the boys that show the most potential.
