  1. Don't think he's been accused of diving. He has a habit of putting himself between the ball and the opponent and then flopping to the ground when contact is made. He won loads of free kicks this way last season. The issue now seems to be that this season referees have spotted this and have tended to wave play on.
  2. Hopefully SK will have been looking for a better midfielder to replace Slattery anyway as he'll be away at the end of the season.
  3. The video was not an example of the club being run in an amateurish fashion. It was part one of a fund-raising strategy, it has created debate and has generated interest in the club. Ten offers of investment within the first few days seems like a good return to me. The timing is also great as there are no games at the moment and it takes the spotlight off the transfer window too. The 'failure' of the club to appoint a CEO came about due to exceptional circumstances - none of the four shortlisted candidates took up the role for a variety of reasons. McMahon stated that he had never experienced this in his professional life. I almost agree with you about the recruitment side of things as there is a lack of clarity - is it all on Nick Dawes? How much input does SK have. Ultimately, the club employed a professional agency to make the video, professional people within the club interviewed professional candidates for the CEO role and our recruitment is in the hands of a professional person. No amateurs were involved as far as I can tell.
  4. Well they randomly loaned him out to St. Mirren last season despite being in a relegation dogfight and needing goals at the time so anything is possible.
  5. They're all three very useful squad players for us so I wouldn't worry too much. Seems we're being linked to a teenaged Canadian defender named James Cameron who currently plays for Vancouver.
  6. We could do worse than starting up crowd chants of "Taylor Swift gives some dosh" and putting that out as well, just to keep people talking. Whoever he is, he may or may not be interested but we might snag someone else along the way.
  7. Just need to look at Dundee United to see how not to do it and how vitally important it is to stay in the Premier League: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67932341
  8. If Tommy Wiseau made advertisements....
  9. Or a must-lose game from your point of view?
  10. John Porteus? He ended up at Hibs at about the same time as Dempster - the plot thickens.
  11. Craggs, I think. Although I don't know the story behind that rumour.
  12. Nothing to do with refereeing but I'm a member of a Scottish Exiles group here on Guernsey and there are members from all over Scotland that have made this island their home. The Rangers and Celtic fans all get along great and their kids have kick-abouts together in their respective kits in the parks. A couple of the families even go away to France together. They all agree how wonderful it all is and how it would never happen if they were still living in Glasgow.
  13. Wouldn't say no. We could do with having that role filled as soon as possible.
  14. He's at a particularly low ebb in his career then.
  15. Have say - and I apologise in advance - Rangers' first penalty conceded in two years really shouldn't have been given.
  16. 20th v Alloa. We've got a run of four very winnable games after the break so plenty to look forward to.
  17. So the manager is paid less than Kelly and O'Donnell?
  18. That shouldn't be an issue at all as there is a head of recruitment who, one would like to think, already has a list of potential signings ready to go next week.
  19. It's his birthday too so.... well done Tony.
  20. I don't completely agree with that. While the results have been very disappointing, the players are still putting in the effort and pinching points here and there that I do not believe would have been won under Hammell. A lot of the players looked to have given up towards the end of his tenure but I don't see that this time.
  21. Very misleading headline, this quote just about sums up the reality: "If people want to say this is the biggest game of the season and it means everything, then fine, but I would argue that what happens on Saturday will not have a direct bearing on what happens in May. But it can have an impact on what comes in the coming weeks, in terms of building momentum."
  22. I'd be tempted to go 4-4-2 for this one as Livi don't pose much of a goal threat and we need two up front to put pressure on their defence. So maybe: Kelly Spencer McGinn Blaney O'Donnell Spittal Paton Zdravkovski Gent Biereth Someone Else
  23. And Livi still struggling to score any goals.
