Yes, I think if it was any other team he would have been offfski a long time ago. Having said that, if we do loose Kelly at some point, he would be one player most would be happy to see back on loan!!

I would hope not.

I remember working at Motorola in east kilbride in the early 80’s when you used to get telex’s (telegrams?). Manager rushed out his office and asked aloud who can read German. One guy steps up and the manager gives him the telex. He reads it and hands it back manager asks him, “what does it say”? He replies, “I don’t know, i can’t translate it, only read it”. True story!

Not sure how much we get for compensation but hopefully a decent amount between Cornelius and Johnston. I’d like to think we can also have add ons for any future transfers. Not sure what our situation is for squad but I think it is maybe too large so perhaps for every two players we get off the books we can afford to attract a better player to have more quality than quantity. However, that phrase has been mentioned previously but I don’t believe has been put into action. If we can attract a few better quality players and Kettlewell can continue his successful methods we could do very well this coming season, especially if we could keep KVV. All easier said than done though.

Agree it probably could be better but it does keep the excitement going (and probably more realistically, money coming in) and as long as everyone knows what they are playing for at the start of the season, it’s fair.

I don’t get comments about Cornelius and Tierney being lightweight or needing to bulk up etc. if you’re good enough you’re big enough. There are lots of successful players of smaller stature, it all comes down to “are you good enough or not” ?

KVV is still under contract but do we wait to see if he gets an offer and then propose counter offer (if it’s even worth it) or do we make him an offer of a new contract now? Or regardless, we are in the situation of having to wait and see if he even gets any decent offers? Don’t want to loose him at the last moment before new season or is that what manager is saying, that once we reach a certain date player has to make commitment one way or the other?

May be right from the buyers point of view but from our point of view he is probably worth that or more to us plus we would have to find another striker. so why sell him for that amount of money?

If they offer him a good wage increase that could be a great move for him. Of course they would have to offer a decent wad of cash to make it a good deal for Motherwell. That’s what worries me. A team may be willing to offer him a great deal wage wise but offer us a pittance as a transfer fee. Now you have a disgruntled player on your books who really wants away but it’s not worth it to the club to let him go. Then we end of either no money and a huffy KVV or no KVV and not. Lot of money.
