Great blast from the past wee Yin! Gave it to Goss but a few others close behind.

All very quiet. Hopefully the break has given Kettlewell some time to have the players work on how he wants the team to play. While they could all do with improving their skills their bigger issues are tactical awareness and decision making. Him and the players have made good inroads to increasing the intensity and work rate so keep that up and improve other areas and we have a chance to relax a bit after the split. Easier said than done, I know.

I also add I think he is being told to punt it long and wide. We had several free kicks with players doing the same thing. We do the same thing at kick off. I also notice other teams doing the same thing. Must be the latest fad after such raging successes as no players on the post at corners, no one left up the park when defending corners and of course (my all time favorite) teaching goalies not to catch the ball.

I don’t see our rivals really closing the gap very much. Our biggest game is v United. if we can take those 3 points we will go into post split in a very strong position.

I think because for some reason they are not supposed to get involved unless it’s to suggest it’s a red or to downgrade a red. Yellow or not decision is not within their scope apparently.

We made one mistake in first half that cost us. Second half I was surprised to see us make it 2-2. A bit unlucky to see VAR not call back third goal but by that time I think we were already starting to allow them more chances but behind us now so let’s see what we can do the rest of the game leading up to the break

Glad to get that one out of the way. Probably would not have made any difference but once again we had Slattery, Goss and Spittal in the starting line up. That should never happen. While Slattery can feel unlucky to get a second yellow he needs to change his attitude and just fkn focus on playing football. Not even sure why he was waving his arm around he had the ball and should have been away with it moving forward. At least we will be forced not to start all 3 for a few games

Decent defensive performance I thought. Agree with second statement. 1 mistake cost us the goal. But need to do more with the ball or at least make the long balls to where we have a 50/50 or better chance to get them

Recent article from Luton boss was talking about how it’s a squad game now and players will be out of starting line up from time to time. Sounds like he still very much likes Campbell.

Hoping Livi keep it going during the week to keep Utd 10 points behind

We are now 10 points ahead of them and have them at fir park, although they do have game in hand. That might not be a good thing for Utd! If we can go into the split 13 points ahead of them then it’s highly unlikely that they are going to win all 5 games. So at least we would avoid automatic relegation. Let’s hope we can also increase our 6 point gap over Killie and County before the split.

I never let our results ruin a weekend but when we win a game like today and all the other results go our way it does seem to make the weekend so much more enjoyable. 🍻

I also thought the red card was very harsh but that might be just because I was terrified of playing against 10 men!

One of the differences I think is that we make changes during a game to address problems the opposition are causing us. Plus of course not giving up stupid goals helps keep the heads up and keeps our attitude in line so we can go score. 4 games, 7 for 2 against. Not too shabby. While not expecting or thinking that we will beat Rangers next game I am really really really hoping we do.

I’d still be nervous if we stick on 33 points. Any points from OF would be a bonus but the must win game left before the split is versus Dundee Utd. Hopefully take some points from Livi and Hibs as well

Probably just not enough games left to have a real chance of getting in top 6. Especially when 2 out of the 5 are against the OF.
