Perhaps more a case of they might not want to keep him?
-
Also just got us our first win at Ibrox in top flight league in 27 years so he has something about him. I think he will turn out to be a good manager for us. The more experience he gets, I’m sure the better he will become. For sure he makes errors, probably overthinks some games but I think his methods, philosophy and personality will stand him (and MFC) in good stead.

Top 6 not gone just yet. Need to rely on other results and win 3 In a row (or maybe win 2 and draw 1) so I agree it’s perhaps not likely but by no means dead and buried, yet! 7th is quite achievable. Any team can beat any other team on a given day so for me it’s all still up in the air

I’m happy to see him here for the next season and longer.

I thought the wording around the handball was pretty Decent, trying to cover it best as possible. Especially noting that hands/arm in a natural position is different depending on the movement of the player. So jumping, sliding, running, tackling, being pushed or falling etc are all different. In essence, or the spirit of the law reads that you get penalized for the following: 1. deliberate hand ball 2. The ball hits your arm/hand when your arms are in an un natural position in order to make yourself larger. 3. Accidental hand ball that puts the ball in the net. 4. Accidental Hand ball that results in the same player putting the ball in the net with another part of their body. none of these applied to our goal or to our PK claim at end of the game. Unfortunately the officials only got 50% right.

I went and looked after seeing your post and as mentioned the officials have either deemed it as deliberate hand ball by Bair or just Fkd up by not knowing the rules. Another item I noticed is that it is an offense to to move into a players path in order to obstruct, block or slow down or force change of direction when the ball is not within playing distance of either player. I see that happen a lot now where defenders will do exactly that and yet they get away with it all the time now. I’ve really only seen this become more common this past couple of seasons. I just thought they must have changed the rules on that but apparently not. The refs have decided just not to call it.
-
So do we (Motherwell FC) know why Millers goal was disallowed? I hope we have asked why. It’s a reasonable question and per the word salad from authorities an answer would help us better understand the rules.
-
That article is just words. If they really believe what they wrote we would be getting clear communications at least post match as to how controversial decisions were arrived at. Basically, help us all understand the rules. However that might result in us all finding out that the refs are totally inconsistent
-
The ref can still pull a goal back for handball by a player in the lead up. Of course you my be right, in that Collum has totally F’d up and and done as you suggest. The other option is that he decide it was deliberate hand ball by Bair, which is just as bad or worse than the other possibility. The defender heads the ball (going at a fair speed) on to Bair’s hand/arm from literally inches away so how can it be deliberate hand ball??
-
Not so sure they’ve tightened up at the back, we scorned a decent number of chances.
-
That’s fair comment
-
Disagree that scoring goals has been our problem. It’s one of our better attributes. However, today we certainly failed on that front but for the season in general it has not been an issue for us.
-
Big part of the problem is also the inconsistent decisions on similar incidents from week to week and also within games. If it’s not deliberate handball they should be ignoring it. Both incidents today were not deliberate hand ball.
-
Obviously our downfall today was, we didn’t score. Not many games we don’t score but just wasn’t working today. Spittal was a bit off, Bair’s touch was lacking. We didn’t seem to play as a unit and looked disjointed. Top 6 probably gone but let’s hope we pick back up again next game. No surprise today really, we are consistently inconsistent!
-
Also, was expecting at least 5 mins stoppage time
-
Other than everybody saw Shinnie’s and no one saw Bair’s but yet one is called and one is not. Would at least be good to have the officials explain the different outcome for the two instances
-
So how is that not a pk when our goal is disallowed
-
Only people who had issue with the goal was VAR 3 officials, players and managers all fine. But even after looking at it, how can that be deliberate hand ball the guy is up against Blair heads the ball off his hand. Ridiculous hand ball decision by the officials.
-
Hopefully SK can get them fired up and playing better for the second half.
-
Hopefully Gent has half a game in him.
-
That didn’t age well
-
Absolute bullshit
-
VAR heck ridiculous
-
Nice to get a wee bit of luck on a deflection

What’s the line up?
