  1. Lol. Thanks. Never quite sure on here.
  2. Is this official and done? 2 separate transactions? Utd coughing up some decent money?
  3. I don’t think that we should be making an example of him, unless that is what benefits MFC the most but I certainly don’t think we should be letting him go to Utd in January unless they stump up a wad of cash and a decent amount of it.
  4. …. And many a dead horse has been flogged over the years
  5. Happy New year to one and all
  6. I read it as he wants to be making as much as he can at a place where he will be happy. So sounds like he wants to stay in Scotland. For me that would explain him taking the offer now rather than waiting till end of season. If Utd beat our best offer by quite a bit then he jumped at it.
  7. I think I’d be phrasing it as a decent transfer fee to cover the following 1. loosing our top scorer 2. Direct rival boosting their squad 3. possible effect on final league placing 4. we now need to find a suitable replacement so for me United fork out decent money to buy him now for what he is worth. Or he stays here. Even if he doesn’t play another game, it benefits us in that he has not played for United. I’m more than happy to see him play if he gives it 100%
  8. I’m surviving almost 2 years of the pandemic but not sure if I’ll make it through the 3 week winter break with no football
  9. True statement to start with. Had the pre contract been with a team from another league I’m sure most people would have been delighted for him. However, since it’s with a direct rival it’s hard to wish him well, although having said that I hope he does well personally for his family but that Utd don’t finish above motherwell any season. The hard decision is do we sell him now(would Utd pay enough?) or do we keep him till end of Season. Personally I agree with your last statement that we do not move the league’s top scorer to a rival mid season. So then we come to the issue of play him or not. So that will come down to Watt, the manager and how other players perform.
  10. Was fairly subdued game with both teams not doing much. Not sure I would say we didn’t play very well or that we played well. It was just “meh” not good but not bad. Having said that, the defense looked comfortable and we did score 2 good goals. So Hooray, 3 points to us.
  11. A wee bit scary how “easily” we have won the last 2 games without playing overly well. Last 2 games very comfortable.
  12. Strange game. We didn’t do much but scored 2 goals. Looked totally comfortable the whole game then gave one up. Then basically seen out the remainder of the game with some very good time management. All in all a good finish to the year
  13. I’m surprised/disappointed that it’s been done now. I thought end of season to consider any offers he got. Perhaps this one is really good for him and that’s fine but from motherwell perspective to sell your “best” player to a close rival during the season does not make sense. If this had been him going to a team out with Scotland it would be a different story.
  14. I’d like to see us offer a bit more going forward.
  15. Take his goals away and see what position we would be in. Take that number of places and multiply by 80k. Then double to cover the remainder of the season. If Utd don’t want to pay that then he stays. Whether he plays or not the remainder of the season is up to him and the manager.
  16. As long as he does earn it, that’s fine.
  17. What the consensus, will Watt be playing against Livi? Will there be any statements from the club or Watt? Either way I’ll be up to watch it at 9am. COYW!!
  18. I think pre contracts should be scrapped. Just stick to the windows for any transfer talks etc. they just put teams and players in awkward positions.
