Scottish Cup Final v Celtic (Hampden) 19/05/18 15:00

Why do people want Allan Burrows to get the Celtic end other than just to piss them off? All the best pubs are at the West side of the stadium, theres plenty room for all the buses to park that end and the railway station is 2 mins walk from the ground? Im more than happy with the way things have worked out..... -
The one on right is a belter. Id buy one of them the now!

Any mention of what sections are the singing sections? Couldnt see it anywhere..... -
Really good insight into the current thoughts and inner workings of the club. Really positive piece. Well done Andy!

Congrats to Flow. Despite his detractors I think its fair to say there have been significant improvements at the club both on and off the field. From the pitch, to the new scoreboard, new roof on the Hunter, our continued excellence in social media / marketing, signing policy, finally getting the Well Society over the line, re-structuring our debt re-payments, the list could go on. Sure there have been mistakes along the way, but its good to see the club as a whole seem to listen to the fans, learn from them and move on. Having someone who has the interests of the club at heart should never be the only criteria for a General Manager / Chief Exec but it is re-assuring that the guy in post is one of our own.

We should definitely be asking for the whole of West Stand and half the South as per 2011. I think that equates to about 16k. We will easily sell them. Ive aleady got double the amount of friends and family wanting to go to this one as went to League Cup Final. Lets get as many Well fans in the stadium as possible. -

Hard to some up all the feelings and emotions of yesterday. Incredibly proud of the team. We may not always be the prettiest on the eye. But for sheer effort, grit and determination, we are hard to beat. Every single player played their part. Not one sub par performance in the 14. The work rate of the midfield 3 Tait and Cadden was incredible to watch and the front 2 must be horrible to play against. Curtis Main wont ever replace Louis Moult in our hearts and minds, but he is fast becoming every bit as valuable to us in his own right. Despite being surprised at how comfortable the team were in the game I couldnt fully relax until the 3rd went in. Too many old scars I suppose. But what a release that goal was. Great tenacity to forge the opportunity and great composure to finish. So to the final and Celtic. It will be a tough ask, no doubt. They have a lot of talented players. However, there defence is suspect when put under pressure. If we press high up the park and do what we did to Aberdeen and make better use of the ball when we get it we may get some joy. Of the 4 times we have played them this season, the only game we let ourselves down was at Parkhead so we have shown we can compete with them. We just need to focus on what we do well and try and impose our game on them. With a little luck it might just be possible. PS. Im glad we are going to be in the West Stand. All the best pubs are that side and Im sure the Shed will be doing a pre match party again! -
Every single player put in a great shift today so hard to single one player out. Main is the obvious choice with his running and 2 goals. However, for a guy who has barely featured this season I thought Liam Grimshaw was absolutely outstanding. His gutbusting run to close the Aberdeen goalie towards the end typified the entire team performance and his fistpump when subbed and celebrations after final whistle show he really gets us and buys into the ethos of what the club is about.

Everyone played well today. No failures. McHugh Campbell and Cadden were tireless in midfield and Tait stuck to his task well. But Curtis Main is an absolute machine. The shot that hit woodwork would have topped off an excellent performance had it dropped in.

Scottish Premiership Game 31 :Rangers (H) 31/03/18 12:30

Just a footnote to my previous comments... I thought it was a nice touch by Jamie Murphy not to celebrate his goal today. I was disappointed when he signed for them and to find out that he was a Rangers fan., but that raised him back up in my estimations. -

Very very good performance. Absolutely dominated the first half and should have been out of sight by half time. Second half, as anticipated, they came out of the traps flying. Disappointing we allowed that to happen but we still defended well enough until the penalty. Didnt think it was a pen. Frear wins the ball and Rangers player falls over. Most pundits in agreement. I know Robbo has said it didnt cost us the game but it did give them more encouragement and momentum which led to the 2nd goal imho. Thought after that we did well to regain our composure and get back into the game. If Mains chance goes in the roof comes off. Fine margins. The most pleasing aspect of today was how much good football we played. Far more easy on the eye. Mixed with the workrate we now take for granted, we can go into the next few games and the semi final with confidence. -

I think its good we are appealing this decision. Other than the fact I think Cedric was very harshly dealt with it will highlight Browns part in it all. His initial tackle could be described as "robust" at best and could be considered to be "out of control". He then compounds that by pushing Cedric in the face. Now, Im not saying that in itself should be a red card but you've seen them given. Only then does Cedric flick his foot out in Browns direction. I would consider that provocation and worthy of a viewing by the compliance officer. My only concern is that Thomson might try and say the stamp occurs when Cedric is on his feet at the initial tackle. Having watched it several times I dont see how you can say that but you never know. Re the pen claim. Main is clearly being fouled and anywhere else on the park he would get it. But you just dont get them in the box and Id be really disappointed if it was given against us. That said, we have had numerous really soft decisions given against us this season, so I understand why folk feel aggrieved. -
So hard to chose today. Every single player gave everything they had. Thought even big Cedric was playing a blinder until he was mugged by Brown. Went for Main in the end just due to the sheer effort he put in leading the line closing players down and chasing lost causes.

I think with Bowman up front you will get more goals out of Main. Similar to when he partnered Moult. His work rate and style will occupy opposition defenders more and hopefully create space for Main to take advantage of. Ciftci is a clever player with ability but I dont see much of a partnership forming with Main who has to do all the hard running with Ciftci alongside him. -
I have some sympathy towards the original post. There are quite a few referees in our league who are just as bad as Andrew Dallas who are not the son of Hugh. I also dont think Sundays game was the worst Ive seen him. I do think he was very inconsistent though. Like others have said Lafferty and Godhino should have both been booked early on and Adeou two footer on Main at the end is a shocker and should have been a straight red. Not his worst day at the office but unfortunately for him he will never be able to shake of his lineage and as a result poor performances will always draw more scrutiny than other refs.
-
I think he just went from "no bad" to "pretty good"

McHugh all day long. Best performance this season from him by a distance. Calm and composed. His distribution of the ball was excellent and what a strike to win it. Only blot on his copybook was a slightly rash challenge which got him booked but it would be churlish to hold that against him. Best of the rest was Alan Campbell with notable mentions for Curtis Main who ran himself into the ground.

Really enjoyed that today. We were miles the better team in the first half. But for some dodgy refereeing and some poor decision making in the final third we could have had the game wrapped up by half time. The penalty in the 2nd half changed things and we were lucky to weather the storm for 25 mins or so. Robbos changes certainly got us back into the game and I thought we finished the last 10 mins the stronger team and what a goal to win it! Absolute scenes! A couple of observations. Lafferty fouled one of our players every time he went up for a high ball. He should have been carded early doors. The push in front of the dug outs was as ridiculous as it was unecessary. Despite our obvious flaws in possession of the ball at times, the mental strength of our team cannot be questioned. Days like today make all the hard times feel worth it. -

I only got to vote for POTY. There was no seperate button for YPOTY? Went for Carson as he has been the best performer over the full season. Hartley and Moult were great first half of season. Young Campbell would be my choice for YPOTY. Love Cedric but he had some really patchy spells before the winter break. -
More than happy with how he has approached the job and how we are performing results wise. I would like us to be more attractive to watch at times, but, like others have said, its a good base to build from and Im sure Robbo is well aware of our limitations and will address them as soon as he can. Not sure if we can make top 6 now but I'll take another trip to Hampden though!

The game will only be off if the pitch is unplayable or the roads and pavements outside the stadium are too dangerous to navigate safely. Not impossible but it would take a pretty severe weather event and bad timing for either to happen. -
Joe was from Glasgow. I dont believe he was brought up a Mothewell fan. Willie P definitely was as I believe was Ian St John. Ally Maxwell is another one that springs to mind . Despite being unpopular with the support, I think Brian Kerr was too.
