  1. Very solid performance after a slow start. Defensively we were very good and limited St Mirren to very few chances over 90 minutes. No doubt James Scott turned the game in our favour and the whole team grew in confidence because of that. We managed the game very well in the 2nd half and should have scored more.
  2. Lots of really good performances tonight. The whole back four were good but Mugabi was a stand out again. Polworth and Donnelly both had very good games and Hylton did well. Hard not to give it to Scott though. Looked dangerous every time he had the ball and 2 great goals.
  3. The club record fee is still the £1.75m paid for Phil O'Donnell. Only that at the fee for Faddy come anywhere close.
  4. Not sure how we can have lost money when we cant borrow from anyone and we have just paid off all our debt. I would have thought it was almost impossible given our structure. It may be a notional loss comparing money in to money out. Be interested to here from anyone with more knowledge or insight.
  5. No real stand outs for me, certainly not for 90 mins. Hartley was pretty solid and always a danger at set pieces. Cole was very good second half. I went for Carroll, he looks like the left back we have been missing and got his first goal for the club. Decent days work.
  6. I noticed that comment and drew the same conclusion that he was referring to Sloth.....
  7. Gets his team to a Champions League Final, then gets sacked before xmas? Aye sounds familiar!
  8. Delighted for the big fella getting his first cap. Thought he did well enough, certainly the better of the 2 centre backs. For me McKenna caused their goal. Terrible first touch and foul to concede the free kick. Not sure what more Gallagher can do with the header. Did well to get something on it. He will be better for the experience.
  9. My favourite Motherwell player right now by a mile! #oneofourown
  10. We need to do what we did in the first 35 mins at Fir Park for 90 mins, and it still might not be enough, but at least it will give those brave souls making the journey something to get behind. If Celtic are not quite on it, you never know......
  11. I didnt know that. But the point stands.
  12. Les is a hardnosed businessman. You dont make the money he has made without ruffling a few feathers. Quite often that doesnt make you very likeable. TBF though, I dont need to like Les to be thankful for what he did for our club. He may have made mistakes, but he was the right man (maybe the only man) at the right time. So thank you Les.
  13. I see Bayern Munich are also in the market for a new manager. We just cant seem to catch a break this week!
  14. The Aker Stadion in Molde is an absolute belter. 11,280 capacity. https://www.stadiumguide.com/akerstadion/
  15. I dont think we need a 12000 capacity stadium. Even when the gruesome twosome come we struggle to get 10k. I would suggest 10k would be plenty. Id favour looking at some of the Scandinavian stadia for design ideas though. The one we played in at Aelesund was quite an attractive stadium. Be interesting to see how much that cost and if it could be incorporated into a community based set up with retail / dining / entertainment options. Would there be room around Brandon Arcade for such a venture?
  16. Id be loathed to move away from Fir Park, but it all comes down to finances. Can we afford the ongoing maintenance costs without redevelopment? If not can we afford to redevelop at the existing site? If not, how much is the land worth and would anyone buy it? Would this revenue be enough to build something decent elsewhere? Where would be the best site for a newbuild? How much would the land cost? Would the council help out? As a fan owned club, any decision we make will have long lasting effects. It needs to be the right one.
  17. Gonna go for a walk on the beach and hope to be pleasantly surprised when I get back! (Although I dont expect to be).
  18. Ok. Ever been employed as a taxi driver? Asking for a friend.....
  19. Maybe because you sound like a Rangers fanboy? Everyone knows Rangers are spending more than they can afford to try and stop 10 in a row. They have to balance the books or face another admin event. With Mike Ashley waiting in the wings for his merchandise cash, they may have a pretty hefty bill to pay very soon. To suggest that the board dont need or want to sell Morelos is fantasy stuff.
  20. No real stand outs. Went for Long for the same reasons as others. Pest of a player in the Dougie Arnott mould. If he can add goals to his game we might have a player. His pace is a real assett.
  21. I think Gerrard and the Rangers support will be desperate to keep your goal machine. The board not so much. Balancing the books and the Ashley court case dictates that they would very much like to cash in on their most valuable asset.
  22. Thought Gallagher played well again and Polworth did some good work with the ball, but he lost his discipline a bit and could have walked 2nd half. Cole led the line and took his goal well. Went for Bevis as MoM though. Aside from the 2nd goal, he was solid and we might just have unearthed another gem there
  23. I thought it was a very disciplined performance. We just didnt quite have enough quality to hurt them on the counter without committing too many bodies forward. You can pick holes in the performance, such as Gillespies punch for the first goal, Bevis losing his wrestling match with Helander for the 2nd, Long passing up 2 very good chances. However, we limited a team that have handed out skelpings to a number of teams this season, to very few clear cut chances, whilst offering some threat going forwards ourselves. Play to those standards every week we will win more than we lose....
