Was between Tanner and Carson. Both made mistakes that contributed to the result. Taking the positives went for Tanner.

Every game that passes without him in the team, we learn to appreciate him a little more......

First half was pretty comfortable and we had the 2 best chances of the half. You need to take those to win games anywhere let alone at Ibrox. 2nd half it all fell apart. Another cheap goal given away and absolutely no imagination going forward. Our "style" has become too predictable and without Moult its not working. Needs a rethink.

I'd like to see Newell get a start if fit. Bit of mobility up front, run the channels in behind. Their defence wont like that. If Fisher is fit I'd agree with resting Bowman. Their players and fans will target him from the off. Suppose we need to see who is fit before we can think about what kinda midfield we can play but if Cadden and Frear both out we could do worse than give Ross McLean a start. Tanner and Bigi should both start as well.

I think most fans are being understanding because they realise there has been a lot more going on than just Moult being out. The amount of effort it took just to get to the cup final let alone play in it ahouldnt be underestimated. We followed that with a really punishing schedule so its no surprise there has been fall out from that period culminating in all the injuries we have had. To be without your 5 best players is always going to show up in results. Yet, throughout this run there have still been plenty positives to give the fans hope going forward. The team spirit is still in tact, there have been some decent performances and Tanner and Bigi have stepped out of the shadows to show they have something to offer. Yes we need our injured players back. Yes we need a replacement for Moult but talk of Robinson being sacked is way off the mark given what he has had to contend with the last 2 months.

Bigi clearly has talent. I dont think the style of play we have been employing really allows him to showcase that. Its just one part of the conundrum Robbo will have to work out as we move forward to a life without Louis. I thought Bigi was decent on Saturday. We need more players in the team that can pass and keep a hold of the ball.

Would love to have seen what Moult could have done playing in that team....

That was a sore one today. I thought it was a fairly even first half. Not much between the teams in terms of possession/territory. I thought we had the better of the chances. We played some good football and one move midway through the half took about 20 passes and brought a very good save from their goalkeeper. Had it been converted they would have been raving about it on Sportscene. Of course we concede to the now obligatory avoidable scrappy self inflicted goal to go in one down. 2nd half we dominated possession, played some nice stuff and created a raft of chances. However, bad finishing has cost us and we end up going home with nothing instead of the point, maybe 3 that we deserved. There was certainly no lack of effort and the players fought for each other to the end. Given the players that were missing we have a lot to be positive about but we need to find a way to reverse this run of defeats before it does actually turn into a slump in form.

I think Bowman is suffering from the absolute hatchet job the Scottish media did on him after the semi-final. However, he is not a natural goal scorer. He could still be a reasonable foil for Moults replacement....

Looks like he is cover while Carson is out as League rules dont allow us to recall one of our youth keepers who are out on loan.....

Sad to see this guy leave our great wee club. However, he is now a fantastic advert for any young player who backs themselves to play at the highest level and might be considering Motherwell as a stepping stone on that road. Proud that our club has been able to help Louis on his way. He has been a credit to himself and the club throughout his time here and has left us with some amazing memories. All the best Louis. Always believe in.......

I dont think we were that poor in the first half last night. But if we had set up with 4 at the back it may have given us more structure and the individual mistakes may not have happened.

Im not sure it was actually a foul but you are 100% right. No need to go to ground and give the ref a decision to make. Show him down the line. He was going nowhere.

Watched the full game back on Alba. Not the utter shitfest first half I was expecting Nothing between the teams. We actually had more/better possession and control of game. Thistle clearly up for it after weekend humiliation. The first goal is a dubious freekick against McHugh albeit he doesnt need to make the tackle just harry the guy down the line. Decent hit but Griffith goes wrong way and has to correct and cant get there. 2nd and 3rd goals are self inflicted. We give the ball away going forward and leave ourselves open to counter. 2 good finishes again but totally avoidable. Frear Grimshaw Campbell and Tait all decent. Sid and Bowman look like 2 guys who have never played together and dont have a goal in them. Moult would have had a couple off Frears crosses first half. 2nd half was much same as the first but we kept the ball better and didnt give them a sniff. Think the change to a back 4 helped. Not sure why the first is disallowed. Can only think Dunne is marginally offside and deemed to be interfering with play. Does Cedric out of his first goal. Good header from Bowman for his goal and nice play and finish from Tanner for his. Lots of pressure towards the end and Frear should do better with his header and could have got us the point I thought we deserved overall. We need to solve the conudrum of how we play without Moult and fast. On last nights showing Frear and Tanner must play but we need could do with a replacement goalscorer.

Thought Tanner was really good when he came on but Frear played well for 90 mins. Moult would have had a field day with some of those deliveries. Just shows the importance of finding a suitable replacement.

I presume thats not available in the UK?

If we can get £500k plus a hefty sell on fee in January we have to take it. We have known this day was coming for some time so I trust Robbo has a couple of targets lined up as a replacement. Be sad to see Louis go but he deserves the chance to show what he can do at a higher level. If he keeps showing the same attitude and desire he should do very well. He will leave us with some great memories and be welcome back any time. He will also be a fantastic advert for what Motherwell FC can offer as a springboard for similarly ambitious young players!

I think they have deeper problems than just the manager.

That is a very depressing thought! Lining up against us at all would be hard to take, but for them? Really hoping he see's his future down south.

Frear. Changed the game when he came on. Great movement for the goal. No-one else really deserving. One of the few times you could say that this season.

Havent been to Parkheid for years due to all the reasons above. Seriously thinking about it tomorrow though. This team has earned our support. Its at times like this we need to go above and beyond.....

Not too sure if McHugh has regressed as such, but he is playing in a much fitter more dynamic team so much harder to shine and maybe his weaknesses are being highlighted more as a result? I do wonder about the captaincy though. He seemed the obvious choice close season but that was before the arrival of Peter Hartley. I dont think he can have any complaints re the games he has been subbed but it is an issue for him as captain. Probably not a decision that can be reviewed until close season once we find out if Hartley is staying or not.
