Not the greatest game of football, but given what was at stake for both teams, maybe not that surprising. Thought they probably edged the first half. They had more territory and possession than us, and were winning more of the 2nd balls which surprised me. I would say though that clear cut chances were probably about even. Thought the second half was the reverse of that. We got lucky on a few occasions but we had more control of the game, won more second balls and probably deserved to win in the end. Great to put them out of a cup at last. This team just keeps pushing the boundaries of what we think is possible. Now we have 4 weeks to dream.....

This feels like a Cup Final. I only have a 1/3 win rate. Time to balance the books!

I would go with the same team again tbh. Only change I would consider is Hammell for Dunne but that might expose us for pace that side. If Frear gets a start surely its Tait that drops out? Id stick with him personally. Lets win our battles and the right to play our football. Having Frear Bigi and Tanner on the bench to bring on as impact players if needed is actually quite comforting!

My point was more about any perceived issues with Madden as referee v Sevco.

Good piece of business. Very impressed with the way club are going about things right now. Planning ahead instead of reacting to circumstances like we have in the past. No guarantee of success but should put us on a firmer footing.

Im not naive enought to think choice of referee cant be important, but Bobby Madden was the referee in the play-off game at Ibrox. I dont recall too many bad decisions that night. We just battered them!

I agree wholeheartedly. Long time supporter of Bowman and really pleased to be proved right on that one. Id like to see Bigi being played further forward where his passing could play Moult and Bowman into scoring positions but that doesnt look like our gameplan at moment. Its very much a work in progress at the moment. Really looking forward to finding out how good this team can be once its had a chance to gel properly. Re Buff Martin, my recollection is we bought him as a midfielder and he sucked there! It wasnt until he was moved back to centre half that he found his feet and his best position.

Why dont we all try and drum up support and try and drag folk with us that wouldnt normally attend. Its a big occasion at the national stadium. If every season ticket holder can bring one other person we get 8000 fans there. We all have family, friends, lapsed fans we know who have an interest in affection for Motherwell. I realise its not cheap but lets get as many bums on seats as possible.

I think Bigi looks as if he is a decent player and as stated different to what we have. I kinda feel though that when he gets the ball he slows the game down looking for that killer pass. Unfortunately in our league you dont always get that luxury so he hasnt been able to shine. He needs to get his head around that and tailor his game a little bit if he is gonna earn himself a run of games.

Craggs on Youtube saying he had a tight hamstring and taken off as a precaution. They are hoping not serious but might rule him out for Saturday....

Dont get many games at Hampden so we need to try and get as many to this as possible. Club are organising buses from Fir Park straight there so safety shouldnt be an issue for anyone.
