  1. Whilst it doesnt sit well with me that the club are not appealling Cedrics red card I can understand it. I would prefer them to keep the heat on the SFA by keeping the matter in the spotlight as long as possible but the club have to be pragmatic about it and assess how much we are going to benefit from it. The answer is not much. I think Robinsons comments and those of the Chairman after the game are pretty clear. It was never a penalty. It was never a red card but we have no faith in the appeal system so whats the point. Thats what should be being reported but we all know it wont be. Best response is for everyone to get along to Fir Park tomorrow night, back Cedric and the team to the hilt and watch us pump them!
  2. Sorry. Should clarify. I posted comments re the match and realised they were in the wrong thread. Couldnt delete so just left wrong thread comment. Apologies if anyone thought I was being pedantic. As for the display. Well done to all involved. Looked great.
  3. Pretty much my view of the game. Not saying we would have won. But we didnt get the chance to find out That hurts.
  4. Anyone not doing prematch at Fir Park Club 100 get yer arse along to The Shed in Shawlands. Prematch party for Well fans only. Free entry Kids welcome. Free pies Motherwell related set list.
  5. At the age of 48, Ive only ever seen Motherwell play in 3 finals. Tomorrow will be the fourth. In 2 of them we didnt turn up. Tomorrow I just want our team to show the mentality thats been on display all season and put in a performance worthy of the effort they have put in to get us here. If we do that and Celtic win it will be because they were the better team on the day and I will deal with that. However, if, just if, one or two of their players are a wee bit jaded or dont fancy it we have the opportunity to write another chapter in our great wee clubs history. Id love another day in the sun. Come on lads. Believe. Why Not Us?
  6. Certainly the money that was invested in the pitch / groundstaff has brought visible improvements. The fees paid out for Marvin and Louis have had a massive impact. Without having insider knowledge the changes to sports science etc are much harder to judge. I think with this further announcement though Les deserves to be cut a little more slack.
  7. Anyone else wake up at 6.30 this morning with their heart racing?
  8. Maybe clutching at straws, but I think Celtic being away to PSG midweek is massive. The additional game, travelling etc will have an impact on their preparations no matter how many they rotate. Meanwhile we have a full week to recover, focus on our gameplan with no distractions.
  9. I would happily go with your figure and the club have played a blinder on this one, all depends how they see the sums adding up. A sell on clause might make us think again.
  10. Unless someone offers silly money for Louis in January Id let him sign his pre contract. Regardless of what happens next Sunday, we have to be viewing a decent Scottish Cup run and top 6 finish as within our reasonable expectations now. It would need to be £400k plus to test our resolve imho. His goals since the start of season have upped the ante.
  11. There's loads of space to park down the beach end along the promenade. Not sure if Aberdeen have anywhere like the Cooper but there's a couple of golf clubs happy to accept visiting fans. Pretty sure they accept kids.
  12. History of The Steelmen 1886 - 1986 by John Swinburne. Essential reading for every Motherwell fan. His follow up book Well Worth the Wait covers the period up to the 91 Cup win and is also a great read.
  13. Thats probably a fair point. I was going to agree with the Higdon post, but when you think about it, who was the last Motherwell player to win player of the year? He was also the first person to break Wullie Ps scoring record, a gap of nearly 40 years. Not even TC, who I would consider a far superior player, managed that. I guess thats what makes these debates such good fun, everyone has an opinion!
  14. The Bois need to work that into a song! Preferably for the Cup Final!
  15. Cheers mate. Would love to have made the launch but its the wifes birthday so duty calls! Looking forward to seeing the results and finished product!
  16. We cant go into this game passive and allow Celtic to play their game. If we do we are toast. Our best chance is if one or two of theirs are having an off day and dont fancy it. To find that out we have to be in their faces from the off. Lets set the tempo and see what their made of. Id rather see us die on our feet than on our knees.
  17. Good effort! Certainly picked me up after todays result!
  18. Glad thats cleared up. Was wracking my brains trying to think of Louis missing a chance at Dens Park!
  19. I also agree with the sentiments above. Our club and our supporters remember Phil every day. He has become part of the fabric of our club and who we are. We dont need this media driven marketing ploy to remind us of who he was or what he meant to us.
  20. I think one other thing to recognise about yesterdays game is how much the game at Easter Road influenced the way Hibs played. They learned from that. McGinn was in Campbells pocket that day, you could see from his performance that he was determined to ensure that wasnt going to happen again. Lennon also changed their formation to combat our strengths and target our weaknesses. Its a massive compliment that other teams and managers are having to do this, however, maybe we need to be a bit cuter in the way we approach games where we play the same team in quick succession.
