  1. Oh, it's clear alright... John Boyle gave messrs Weir, McMahon & Dempster (now just Weir & McMahon as she has since moved to pastures new) power of attorney to the group over his shares. However, a power of attorney can be revoked at any time. Essentially John Boyle will make the call on future ownership because legally he still owns the club. Let's hope he makes another decision that safeguards the future of our club.
  2. Conjecture. What do you base that on? As for similar analogy to Rangers & Hearts? Piffle. The loan is of the soft variety believed by some to be from within. Whilst the Society as it stands are not publishing details prior to any deal being struck and/or upcoming special general meeting - it has been mentioned members wouldn't be liable. Hearts survival came in the face of adversity, the Well Society has tried to raise monies outwith such a scenario - you honestly believe they couldn't raise required funds in future if the situation, god forbid, is bleak? Have a word with yourself. My fear, regardles whether I figure fan ownership will succeed or not, is the chance to rebuild from the bottom up with a fresh approach coaching wise may well be missed.
  3. Only hope you are right... overtures from those in power at The Well Society haven't exactly satisfied fellow members & those who aren't.
  4. Reckon events behind the scenes will scupper hopes & wishes...
  5. So... now not a fan of Gannon or McCall? Your seat has been too close to steelboy for too long
  6. Bet your life on it... Rex says No Surrender! to that Peter the pointer, Shettleston Harrier, pseudo-Irish, bog dwelling, ambulance chasing Earl Haig.
  7. Peter Grant? Never been one to pay much heed to the BBC Gossip page, but, what next? Sir Alex Ferguson?
  8. Right we got you. Shut up - it's boring. Suspect you & steelboy would be into 2 man bum chains...
  9. Whilst I agree, discussing managers contracted to other clubs is crass, please stop peddling 'we can't afford to pay x,y & z' as it's a misnomer... Not that I suspect they will, if compensation is required to install the correct man for the job - the club will foot the bill.
  10. That's the crux here, it suits the 'in it for the blazers' mentality that prevails. And for I and other fellow members I know of, it's a major stumbling point. Dress it up how they like... The club has an offer on the table that outweighs what's on offer from the society, wether it presents better value for the club may well be debated in future - if we were under the control of the bank like others, we'd be seeing a powershift with any outside investment embraced long since. Would it be prudent for both parties to combine efforts?
  11. Can we refrain from questioning legitimacy & ability to work for a club like ours... To a certain extent it already has or the administration process may have been in full swing 2 years ago. No doubting a lack of transpareny when the whole 'fan ownership' ethos should be engaging the fans wether the responses be positive and negative. What was the credentials to receive one of the club letters? Know of sponsors who have contributed similar monies already this term who haven't received any...
  12. Eh? Don't think you've grasped the 'Society has bailed the club out twice already' ideal have you? Proof that the Society hasn't been the waste of time you & plenty other doubters suggest.
  13. Yes, his slip didn't help either, Fraser Kerr's failure to hold the line is every bit as bad.
  14. That's not fact, unless Ms Dempster & Mr Weir were economical with the truth... Whilst it is restrictive in achieving the aims of some, there were times when the playing budget remained the same.
  15. I disagree. Jim Gannon brought with him a vision that was matched by our board, hence, he was given everything he requested. Given the relative success we have enjoyed may well have diluted that process since, the essence of the blue print he offered is still at the forefront of the boards thinking from what I've seen or heard - we just haven't matched those ambitions yet, while it seems others around us are. Now, we can wax lyrical on the merits of Gannon's tenure, both those for & the haters for sake of hating - believe there was fault on both sides, from the outside his erratic behaviour left his position untenable, just felt we missed a trick & would be interested to see where that particular plan took us. Whilst Stuart McCall should rightly be heralded for his achievements especially in relation to what we're lead to believe is an ever decreasing budget. The business is about the here and now & I've felt for a long time he had squeezed as much as he could from the squad, evident to those in Iceland with no sign of any recovery since. I do believe that management teams have a shelf life, he had banked enough in the vault to warrant time to turn things around, but, even the staunchest of his supporters will be questioning his latest offerings. Think it's crass to be suggesting replacements when he is still in the job and was recently lead to believe that will remain the case regardless of general opinion. Rest assured, when or if, the time comes to make change Derek Weir will be scouring the leftfield for the appointment & not using the old boys network & Scottish managerial merry-go-round we see elsewhere & truth be told, that's what gives most of us the fear.
  16. Based on what information? A misconception that James himself dispelled in a recent interview which gave rise to your next point of others questioning his value. Suppose the truth will out as the published accounts become available with some members on here having access as shareholders... As for his loss not being responsible for squad meltdown - granted, not entirely, but, a contributory factor none the less no matter those who heralded 'Josh Law as an improvement' dress it up.
  17. So by that school of thought, neither should Kerr & I doubt I'll be the only one to think our pursuit of O'Brien was another in a long line of folly? Adam Cummins is certainly no worse... Main objective should be the protection of the back 4 from their midfield counterparts, we have the resources to do so, time will tell.
  18. Always find the team selections made on here are wank. Neilsen in goals? Really? Dan Twardzik has been competent and at times, has kept us in most games. Shoe horning Ramsden into our line up baffles me too, given recent performances. Kerr? SNAP.
