That's one and the same thing is it not? Budget exhausted retaining Anier & Ainsworth so disagree SMC was not looking to add to the squad when he did. This has been done to death. It would have been good to freshen up the squad with additions, arguably only Aberdeen, Ross County & Thistle have strengthened, but, we are where we are finance wise and early cup exits further compound that particular problem. Time to cherish what we do have as the annual SMC rebuild is just around the corner...

NO. As it stands, an attempt to cover up poor planning and ineffective policing has seen those who had their names taken outside The Electric Bar post match have the police attend places of residence (one in the company of some choice media ally, heralding a perceived success of smashing alleged football hooliganism) and even places of education to caution those, as the ages confirm, not old enough to gain entry to the bar. Top detective work? Verifying need for overtime match fees? It's nothing short of a sham on the part of Police Scotland. Unsure of the full number, some if not all are disallowed from attending matches at the moment with potential 6 year banning orders threatened. I fully expect the legal representation of those cautioned to have the interim bans reversed as the police argument has more holes in it than Swiss cheese. We pay for their hats though...

I'm not so sure, think Terry Butcher had a knack of getting the best out of some players that fitted his system to which they fail to recreate elsewhere. I'm surprised he couldn't finance a deal at Hibs.

Halcyon days indeed, him and his good lady were regulars in The Dalziel Arms given the friendship with the landlord. Some fine post match evenings were had. Knew his end was near given he told us "I've made my money, not looking for a big payday, but, Mr Boyle and the little fella (Nevin) reckon I'm a yard off the pace, funny that - they're replacing me with a younger Greg Strong on double the money I'm on and a yard slower than me!" It's a funny old game right enough.

St Johnstone's McDiarmid Park has a lot of third party usage that many others do not, helping to balance their books somewhat against poorer crowd attendances.

No second guessing or conjecture... local lads had had enough intimidation that night. Result? Given the wanton vandalism and destruction with listed likely perpetrators (their horrible club have all details, suspending some, relocating others) off scot free whilst those at policescotland who were unprepared and caught out single out the minority. Justifying the exorbitant overtime rates - go on, tell us how lucky some are to be paying 40% tax for the privilege!

Not the point I was making, I suspect you knew that. Reference was made to £24 entry... Not ideal I know, but, I just found non attendance by some because of the price of a pint differing price from most other away fixtures a little silly. On the other hand, where does it stop? Some kind souls need to fight the good fight - shame the clubs don' t pay heed. Got everything you mention and then some, not privileged, just choose football to be further up my list of priorities. Given current economic conditions, fully understand those who don't attend - I'd wager it has nothing to do with the slight increase. £18 for a concession tomorrow is poor fare also.

Not that I agree with the price range, but, non attendance due to what is a difference of £2/£4 on most other aways? Bit nonsensical that is it not? Even for those on tighter budgets, hardly likely to lead to banruptcy.

Been turning in regular man of the match displays of late & couldn't get enough of him when I was down the weekend before Christmas. Dropped for the New Years Day fixture, the talk was confirmation of Hibs interest... Knocked back a match ticket & travel today. Hindsight is a great thing.

Shame that. One of the best away days in the top flight. Would rather be heading there than Paisley or Kilmarnock.

Best performance in a Blades shirt yesterday according to texts from friends and family. Man of the match and not for the first time in recent weeks.
