  1. Radio Scotland said that Accies finished the match with a squad with an average age of 23. I expect they will field their first team squad for Saturday’s league game.
  2. A big keeper is certainly more intimidating for any penalty taker. Without doubt this defeat is another massive kick in the baws.
  3. The players and the management team know how important cup runs are to the clubs finances. Our cup showings of late have been dreadful and we can’t afford to let that continue. With that in mind I am hopeful we can stop the cup rot with a hard fought 2-1 victory. Mon the Well!
  4. I have just sobered up from the celebration party.
  5. Never, however it’s worth remembering that we beat them 8-0 in 1936.
  6. It’s going to be another tough 90+ minutes in the East End of Glasgow. 2-0 Celtic.
  7. I was at the St Mirren game, however, I didn’t watch the highlights or the Stjarnan goals.
  8. I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch any of the highlights of our games this season, I think I might just watch todays.
  9. Was this the Media Head job Alan or has someone been appointed?
  10. We have had a poor start to our season, however, County have been far worse than us. I am not going to contemplate losing this one as we are more than capable of going to Dingwall and collecting all 3 points. Mon the Well!
  11. He describes himself on his Twitter account as the 'main man at motherwell football club'. God help us.
  12. Given the circumstances that should maybe read '...Frew the net' I'll get my coat.
  13. New head of Club Media. It’s not a great email, however, I suspect it has been sent in error. You would expect any communication advertising Christmas nights out would have professional looking graphics and to adhere to official club guidelines. This one has obviously slipped through the net.
  14. By all accounts they are very well organised side, I sincerely hope the have an off day when they play us.
  15. This is the fear that most people will have when their team is going through a sticky spell on and off the park. However, I would like to think that we have measures in place to prevent this scenario from happening.
  16. It’s still early days, however, If we lose this one I worry it could start to have an effect on team morale. Bad runs also equal lower crowds, which have financial implications for an already cash strapped club. No need to press the panic button yet, however, it is worth remembering bigger clubs than us (eg. Hibernian) have shown how difficult it can be to stop a losing streak. Hopefully we can kick start our season soon, as the alternative doesn’t bare thinking about.
  17. In principle I agree with fan ownership, however, we don't really have the numbers required to make it work (there was only around 3,400 Well fans at the game on Saturday) and I will be stunned if we reach the amount needed in the stipulated time. I reckon we would require a minimum of 10-12,000 coming through the turnstiles at every home game with around three quarters of them pledging regular financial support to the club (This is never going to happen). Unfortunately the other way is not likely either, as locating a wealthy backer with Motherwell's interests at heart is highly unlikely. Basically we are financially fucked in a league that has no sponsor, with a regular attendance that is shrinking as I type. The only option we have is to go with youth, as financially this is the best and only way forward for a club of our size.
  18. In my opinion this would be a step in the wrong direction as we really need to start bringing through more youngsters. A team can't move forward if they keep looking back.
  19. Agreed. Surely there is no way we can lose this one, is there? 2-1 Motherwell.
  20. Hearts are currently doing three sessions a day according to Alan Preston on Radio Scotland. It seems to be working for them. As for McCall, I don’t see a problem with him going to Germany. The back room staff should be more than capable of getting the boys into shape.
  21. Another confidence boosting result for our league cup opponents today. This will be a very tough tie.
  22. Despite another defeat I actually thought there was a slight improvement in our performance. For what it's worth we deserved at least a draw. In saying we need to start picking up points soon.
