  1. Higdon has proven capable of scoring goals as can Murphy albeit he isn't exactly clinical. If Hughes can add another dimension I'm sure these two can benefit. As for where he fits in himself. I'd assume to start with on the bench. Firstly for all our flaws we are doing pretty well and despite being maybe of the pace a bit guys like Humphrey and Murphy are contributing even if it is mostly the threat of Humphrey's pace making defences focus on him more than his more tangible contributions which seem less than last season. Their perceived threat as it were. Secondly he surely isn't match fit and he might be more suit to coming off the bench when our plan A isn't working or we just need fresh legs to see a game out. Good player though I hope he can make an impact and if he forces himself in the starting XI then great but hope we can get an extension to end of the season if he looks anything like he did in his first season.
  2. By and large my only quibble is moving so late in the day. I guess when the fixtures are drawn up the TV companies don't know every game they want to broadcast all the way through the season. But at the least a full quarter of the season advance notice should be had. Most people that work regular Monday to Friday jobs should find a friday evening game little less trouble than a saturday 3pm match. I have a certain sympathy for the tradional saturday 3 o clock kick off but a friday evening I think on the whole I'd prefer to a satuday or sunday early kick offs. Plenty people also find saturday 3 o clock now less than straightforward for getting to games and there is no time in the world that I guess suits everyone. I work shifts and as yet not checked my diary to see if this makes a difference to me one way or the other if I gain great, if I lose out well shit happens. The comment earlier on that stood out for me was someone complaining they go out on a friday night, what a diehard. Can't let a football game get in the way of a night on the lash. You couldn't go out on a saturday night, you couldn't go out after the fitba. You couldn't possibly ever changes your plans to watch a game, maybe if it was a cup semi? Can't give to much of a fuck for the fitba if it that much of a hassle to move a night out for eh. Plenty people swap shifts and take holidays to get to games, like I sympathise for those that have already had to juggle things only to see it moved but despite protestations the comment indeed sounds huffy. The other downside is the away fan issue, it doesn't help that public transport isn't the best and getting back to edinburgh late at night is more of a hassle than a more local fixture. So on the whole I think between some practical issues the moaning faced culture that is Scotland friday nights won't really be one that takes off.

    Kilmarnock

Clancy for me, after shaky first couple of games that I saw he looked a lot more secure yesterday. Hately I thought was decent apart from 2 or 3 howling set pieces.

    Faddy

Provided he fit he shown a degree of versatility and arguably solid work ethic un time at Birmingham. With ability to do something a little special from time to time. Decent player for everton to have around. Just hope injuriies are behind him and he can show his best and get back in Scotland set up.

    Faddy

I think I would miss a Celtic game at Fir Park if Faddy was playing for them. Not generally overly sentimental but seeing Faddy playing against us for them would make me feel a little queasy and I wouldn't want to give him dogs abuse.
  6. I guess it is due to nature of the offence but the SFA can pay his wages then if we can't pick him. They happy for people with rape and assualt charges hanging over them to play, not to mention someone convicted of grooming teenage girls! Now I get Jennings alleged crime gets at the game itself but it is his own team that is the one that runs the risk of suffering from his alleged actions and no one else so it should be up to us to decide if we want to take the risk of playing him and no one else!
  7. He had a 2/3 game mini slump but otherwise tremendous!
  8. Baws posting on an iPad can't be fucked rattling that again
  9. I take more positives than negatives from last nights showing. Though how woeful we were at the back is worrying. I think we need to see Jennings dropped. He looks like a player that has signed on because something better didn't come along and doesn't seem to be bursting a gut to win a better move. We have some options there at least, Forbes could get a shot. Hear he put in solid display at St.Mirren. We could move Law into middle and get both our quick wingers on the park provided Humphrey didn't do any serious damage. Or Carswell who had a few games under his belt could be given a chance in a more like for like switch as he seems to be fill defensive mid role. The back 4 is the bigger concern. Odd lapses aside reasonably happy with the full backs but as a unit we are terrible and Craigan and Glancy are not doing the business. Now they not played a lot together before, hopefully there is scope for improvement as they play together but both look like bombscares. Craigan to be fair is be put out of his comfort zone playing on the left. We all know he isn't exactly a silky bring out from the back sort but having more often needing to use his left foot and playing in slightly alien position isn't helping him. If Glancy can play all along the back 4 at the very least get them switched so Craigan at least can hopefully play to his potential. I fear until Hutchison gets back we are in for some frights! Even then the same imbalance with Craigan out of position wasn't great, but it being really exposed now with this current pairing. Murphy has also been a bit indifferent and that penalty miss was woeful. I think a rest is due and whilst I not totally confident in McHugh I think he deserves a wee run of games alongside Higdon. Think he might do quite well and surprise us.

    Hibernian

Lasley, Law and Randolph all strong shouts. Went for Lasley, but could have been any. Laws finishing let him down and missing a pen. Randolph didn't much wrong and made some excellent stops. But Keith was carrying Jennings on his back and doing the work of two for pretty much whole game
  11. total exaggeration, low 90's sounds about right. 93% give or take a point or two.
  12. the same manager that came in under difficult circumstances and did a pretty decent job including a run to a Scottish Cup final last year and had us have one of our best starts to a season in living memory. Where we would have at least for the night been top of the league had we won on saturday. Now no manager is perfect but thank fuck for McCall we didn't flirt with relegation or get off to a slow start this season if this is the confidence things going well engenders. Back to tuesday, I'd have Forbes in for Jennings or Daley in for Jennings and Law moving more central. Need more creativity through the middle and Jennings performance on saturday was worse than a man down. He not looking like the player of last season or so and saturday looked like a player that didn't want to be here.
  13. For me in a sea of mediocrity Jennings stuck out like a sore thumb, and not a good way. Looked barely interested and out of depth. Lasley didn't do anything good either but looked fit enough at least. I think McCall made the right substitution but at least 10 minutes to late. Odd flurry aside we never got into gear and changed needed made. To be fair to McCall the luxury of a sub he thinks can make an impact has not really been something he had til now but Daley should have been fired on earlier. Thought Law made us look a bit more potent when he wandered inside, and having two pacy wingers either side could have opened up options. The suicidal 2nd goal though robbed that change I think of any real chance of having the impact it may have had earlier on. All 3 goals were poor at best to lose, fundamentals that we shouldn't need to be discussing. I do wonder if the players thought all they had to do was turn up yesterday!!!
  14. Higdon was one of few that almost got pass marks. Terrible all round performance though
  15. Woosh why? If it is purely a wind up then why aren't same Well fans digging out an Irish flag or something that would wind up the inbreds that would go mental at a Rangers game? Ok no obvious Irish connection I can think of at Motherwell this minute these days since likes of Coyne and Coyle moved on but seeing as it a wind up there hardly needs to be. But go get a tricolour with Tommy Coyne(Ok he scottish but he played for them) Motherwell Supporters on it or something. Pretty sure it would for no logical reason cause some of their braindead fans to foam at the mouth and you can take something of a moral highground that it just a means to annoy the bigots in the other end rather than looking just like a bunch of fuckwits waving a UJ at Celtic fans. If it not just to noise up the Celtic fans then why bring it? You can argue free to do so but why, what is the connection to Motherwell? Support the Union or not I don't really care but we represent Scotland in the world of football I don't see where anyone feels the need to celebrate their Britishness in connection to Motherwell FC? And has been pointed out, there are ample negative connotations to the UJ in relation to football so why associate ourselves with that nuggle dragging 'seig heil' element and give the bams that call us h**s without the bus fare all the ammunition they need.

    Big Hutchie

Glancy is a shoe in to take his player. His chance to show Killie they were wrong to let him go. If he looks a bit shaky then Page would be next in line. Hopefully Hutchison back fairly soon though as two defenders down is stretching us a bit thin.

    John Sutton

I don't feel to sorry for him. You pays yer money you take yer chances. He'll be getting paid reasonably handsomely and come January I don't imagine he'll find it to difficult to find a club that wants him if he still out in the cold.
  18. Indeed, how many times again will we see similar threads? I reckon at least an average of one every two seasons.
  19. Bit of a scare there, but makes for a better game all round. Superb result still
  20. As for Glancy, played 70 plus games for Killie. Might not be great but he fits the bill in terms of experience and versality. Kinda hoping we don't get to see much of him due to current guys keeping fit and playing well but hope he does well if and when opportunity come by and he can keep other guys on their toes at the least.
  21. Quinn has more or less been part of Cardiff first team suquad since he went down there. Don't think he ever nailed a jersey but he has never seemed to be to far out the picture 50 or so appearances most of them starts. Might be changed now though with a new manager. Seems to have played in two carling cup ties this season. Usually a sign at not being a first pick at any rate.
  22. 4-0 Lawless. Nicely done tonight. We've slipped up in ties like this with a full strength outfit out.
  23. Good stuff, good to see first goal for the big lad. Against a bunch of diddies or otherwise.
  24. Right back to my early days going to games. Honestly can't remember if he was much cop but do remember he found the net for us at crucial times during end of season fight against relegation on at least one occasion. Don't think he stayed around to long but did us a turn I think you could say.
