  1. The stick Craigan gets on here is unreal. Aye, he made a mistake for the O'Connor goal last night but O'Connor still had quite a bit to do to score (e.g. who dived in after Craigan and sold himself..Clancy). Craigan won many headers in his own box and aye, his long passing leaves a lot to be desired at times but he's no f*cking Ronald Koeman. He's a solid enough defender for a team like Motherwell so folk should get a reality check. On the other hand, from what I've seen of Clancy, he is a bombscare at centre-half. Was at fault for the first goal last night, played a part in their 2nd goal and in general, stands off a striker far too much. I haven't seen anything to suggest he's any better than Page, so I'd have Page in before him on Saturday.
  2. Thought Higdon played pretty well and his goal was a class finish. One thing which is frustrating (and it doesn't just apply to him) is the way our forwards seem to be caught on their heels when a ball is played across the box. Hateley/Humphrey played a few smashing balls across the face of goal last night and all it needed was one of the forwards to be sliding in for a goal. Also, I wish one of them would get across the front now-and-again rather them hanging around between the penalty spot and back post.
  3. Diddy cup game, team for me would be: Hollis Hateley Craigan Page Hammell Lawless Forbes Carswell Law Murphy Daley Might also be tempted to start with Gary Smith rather than Murphy. McHugh doesn't deserve to start after his pathetic performance at Clyde when even that looked a level too high for him.
  4. Wish Faddy wouldn't bother paying £25k and just come to play for us until the transfer window instead!!!!
  5. wonder if they'll confirm if Bakayoko is at fir park or not?
  6. I know there was an emergency meeting last night but no idea the outcome, although suspect you might be correct.
  7. Sutton will likely get a decent reception until he starts falling on his arse at every turn looking for fouls.
  8. Stevie Woods best game for Motherwell was when he played outfield at Clydebank (think it was Clydebank!). That says it all. At least big Bob scored with his baws so he escapes from the worst signing list.
  9. Mario Dorner, Herve Bacque, Rob Maaskant, Rab Shannon, Stevie Woods, Tony Vaughan......there are far too many to mention.
  10. Nail on head. Absolutely spot on.
  11. 12 team leagues, play each other home and away. Split into a top 8, bottom 4 join a league with top 4 from 2nd division. Either carry on the top 8 with the points accumulated or to make it more interesting, restart and play each other home and away again. Potential for different champions??!!! The middle league (i.e. bottom 4 and top 4) would have to restart, play each other home and away again. This would mean there would be a potential of 4 teams relegated and 4 teams promoted. In total, if I've done my sums right, that would mean 36 games, 2 games less than at present which the clubs seem to be clamouring for. I've probably missed something obvious though!
  12. How much is the loan due to John Boyle, £300k? I heard he a rumour that he was wanting it repaid immediately, therefore, possibly meaning we have to sell someone to finance it.
  13. Surely John Sutton's cup scoring record ala Stevie Kirk could be in there! Just noticed that it is already there!
  14. The irony is that we won't be giving a f*ck on Sunday and will roll over to give Celtic a victory should it mean they could win the league!

    Cup Final Tickets

Did they ask you any questions like "Who is the assistant manager at Motherwell?", "Who scored the goal v Odense in Denmark?" or "What is the sponsor on top of the South Stand?" to make sure you were a Well fan as opposed to a mhank?

    Cup Final Tickets

Nice to see the club as organised as usual regarding the ballot.
  17. Aye, drop jeffers and get Hateley into the middle of the park along with Jenno and Las. Means that Murphy and Humphrey can get forward and don't have to be overly concerned about getting back.
  18. Celtic should have to come back to Fir Park for a 3rd time given we went there 3 times last year. It's only fair after last season's debacle!
  19. Obviously best to try to reduce the official attendance by a thousand or so, as we have to give Dundee United half the gate money!!
  20. I'm sure the replay date was in the programme at Tannadice on Sunday, therefore was agreed prior to Sunday.
  21. 2nd win since November for Inverness!!! Back to the same old same old.

    St Mirren

Funniest part of the evening was that...he fresh-air swiped the ball and fell on his arse, then tried to pretend he was hurt to hide the embarrassment.
  23. Agree with most of the posters on here. We were dire, St Mirren deserved the 3 points if any team were going to win. The choices made by the manager tonight were ridiculous. In fact, the last time a manager made so many ridiculous choices was McGhee against St Mirren in the Scottish cup at home a few years back when we played 4-5-1 (although Quagmire tried to convince us it was 4-3-3). Why did McCall change a winning system and team tonight? Why did Gunning get switched to right back/mid, Hateley into centre midfield and Hammell brought on at left back/mid when Lasley got injured? In fact, I couldn't work out if he went with 4 at the back or 3 at the back. Anyway, when it was clear that Gunning was a liability at right back/right mid (it was like he had been replaced by a burd trying to play football!), he switches Hammell to the right side and Gunning back to the left. Meanwhile, Forbes and Page sit warming the bench! Couldn't understand the decisions made by McCall tonight, but ultimately, the players were dreadful yet again. Aberdeen and Killie apart, the rest of the performances since McCall came have been awful. As I've said before, from a footballing point of view, the league is well and truly over for us. Getting into the top 6 means we might get a chance to change the destination of the title and getting into the bottom 6 means we could maybe relegate Accies.
