  1. Aye what happened there? Seen some sort of aggro between the two sets of fans but no idea what about.
  2. Fantastic performance. So much better than Saturday. What a difference playing with 2 proper wingers and Turnbull attacking midfield..... and actually passing the ball! Think the criticism of main is harsh. His goal return this season is poor to say the least, but tonight he put in a shift and a half up top by himself. Was practically wrestling with McGregor all game and looked knackered just before he got subbed for sammon. Sammon didn't offer the same intensity though. Campbell's best game for a while and grimshaw was brilliant. Gorrin Looks a player too when we're not bypassing the midfield. More of the same please.
  3. I'm not sure hate is the right word. I like hartley. Problem is he's too similar to aldred, and frankly IMO aldred is the better player. I agree with the original poster that Dunne is a centre half and brings the much needed pace to compliment Aldred. Also when in possession Hartley is probably the biggest culprit for head down and launch. You can almost see him winding his leg up!
  4. I agree with you on that big stall. I agree we've got the players capable of beating county and comfortably avoiding relegation. But we're not doing it. What gets me is in his interview Robinson almost excuses it by referring to having lost kipre and moult (and also bowman?). Well I don't see a Moult or kipre in county's team, just a team able to play together and wanting to win the game. He refers to the injured cadden, tanner etc.... well this was his strategy to strengthen 12-18, rather than making fewer quality signings. The excuses are not acceptable and directly contradict either his philosiphy, or what he is pointing to as a positive. Nothing against him as a guy.... forever grateful for digging us out a hole in 2017 and of course the 2 cup final season, but without a doubt we're going backwards.
  5. Have to say Robbo's post match interview reeked of desperation. Kind of reminded me of some of McGhee final interviews. Firstly, where does the 4 million gross profit on players come from? Unless we got 2 million for rose, then I'm struggling to add up to half of that. Also, Moult, henegan and bowman - none were signed by him. Though their best form came under him, so I'll let that go. Regardless 2 million, 4 million, f**king 20 million doesn't matter - weve nothing to show for it. Failed to make a mark on the cup, and doing the minimum to get by in the league. And we're skint because the seasons budget has been squandered on the 12-18 strategy, and players who are slowly getting replaced by our u20s. I am seething after yesterday.
  6. Today was a reality check as to how shit we actually are and how greatful we should be for the teams below us in the league. I hope the board were taking note. I would have accepted toddling along in the league and just doing what it takes to avoid relegation, as long as we had the cup to look forward to. Now we don't have that. I've had enough. The last 3 home games have been amongst the worst I've seen. Accies just temporarily papered over the cracks.
  7. I wonder if Robinson will start with Livingstone for this game. If ever there was a game to see how he plays from the start in the first team it's this one, given he's played county already with the colts and, by all accounts, played well.
  8. I would fully expect us to be changing shape from 352 to a 442 or 4231 with McCormack part of the 2 or middle of the 3. Tait aldred Dunne/Hartley dunne/livi/ATS Ariyibi Campbell Turnbull Hastie/frear McCormack main Prefer dunne at CB but may be better off using him on the left for now depending on how ready livinstone is, or uninjured ATS is. I don't see main getting dropped, but if he does, maybe McCormack as the 1 in a 4231 with Turnbull middle of the 3 and mchugh in with Campbell.
  9. Brilliant bit of business assuming he can recapture any sort of form. The type of player we've been screaming out for all season.
  10. Might be a game for rose, or is he a no go given he's offski?
  11. We huffed and puffed, can't fault the team for effort but the fact is we're just not very good. Kilmarnock were nothing special on the day but I would have been tempted to leave at 1-0 if not for my lift. We were never going to score. As I said to my killie supporting mate - score and you'll beat us. Unlucky with mbulu, but for mchugh and Dunne, why on earth are they both going for the same ball in the middle of the park under little to no killie pressure? Just watched it back and that is dunnes ball all day. Hope all 3 are ok of course and nothing more than a scare. Stupidity from main to get sent off, didn't see the initial incident but hands to face afterwards gives the ref a decision to make. O donnell made a meal of it too but doesn't take away from the stupidity of the act. As for the non regular starters it was good to see frear back though I suspect he'll be away in Jan. Thought ATS was not bad either and it allowed (for the first 25 mins at least) tait to move back to the right. That said he was different class in the middle - Mr reliable indeed. Any reason Turnbull was missing or do we assume that he is leaving in Jan also? Recruitment needs to be right this window or I do fear we could be in trouble second half of the season.
  12. Totally agree, the blame for what were seeing on the park is entirely at Robinson's door. The players he's signed, the formation he persists with, players shoehorned into any and every position. I seriously hope it doesnt get worse, but as others have suggested, at this point in the season he will be judged on keeping us in a safe position and (hopefully) a cup run and not the product on the park. I would say that mains attributes are holding the ball up, strength and doing a power of work. He has rightly come under criticism for his strike rate this season, but for me, with the crop of players we have we are a better team with him in it.
  13. Robinson has made some serious mistakes over the summer in particular. For a team that "likes to get balls in the box", we have no width whatsoever, our only natural first choice wide players (when fit) are out of position in the system we play, and strikers whose main attributes aren't getting on the end of crosses. WTF. The only shed of light i can take is that I believe he recognises it and so should be looking to address it in january. Not sure I trust him to do that though, but while he meets his remit by hook or by crook, he won't be sacked so heres hoping he can turn it around. I just hope it doesnt put the fans off longer term because we really have had to endure some poor poor stuff this season. And don't get me started on the "strategy" of the last week - total bulls**t. We are not bottom but for 2 factors IMO. Dundee and st mirren somehow being worse than us, and the emergence of Turnbull - where would we be had he not came onto the scene.
  14. Yeah i agree we probably would have still got beaten. My main issue is if every team in the league took that approach then it defeats the point of the whole competition. It's easy enough for Celtic as it is.
  15. Absolute shambles today. Absolutely zero width and the only player even trying to create is Turnbull, and maybe tait. I will NEVER back throwing the game midweek v Celtic. It defeats the point of having a competition, and cheats the fans who went along. But I'll just about accept it as a management tactic if we take 7 points from these 3 games. Then that is what is served up in the first of 3? Shocking. When bigi came on I knew that was either going to make or break us.... with a strong suspicion it would be the latter. Awful. A lot to answer for, Robinson.
  16. Voted for Gillespie. Good solid all round performance, topped by a great penalty save. Don't think he had much chance with the goal, but not seen it again. Thought main also did a lot of good work and tireless running.
  17. What a result. Did not see that coming. A few very good performances in awful conditions there. And, in spite of the weather, it was not a bad game. We probably rode our luck at bit at the end of the first half but, equally, so did they at times in the second. Deserved 3 points. Hopefully we kick on from here.
  18. I thought they'd be for the taking and they absolutely were - maybe last season's team might have had the belief to go and take all 3 points. Delighted with a point, all things considered, but that was a poor game!
  19. Celtic could be for the taking after a tough match on sunday but I don't hold much hope for this one in the wake of Robinson's latest comments. I'll take a 0-0 park the bus job now but reckon a 1 or 2 nil defeat is on the cards.
  20. "We've had to tweak things, we haven't been quite as physical, we haven't had people that were rattling about, we have had to put more footballers in the team due to injuries and circumstances." Awful words, I'm shocked at that tbh. Why would you even come out with that? Especially since the best "footballer" in the team that hes thrown in, Turnbull, has saved his job. And again on Saturday, he refers to having to play Maguire as a bad thing - he was one of our better players ffs!! It's HIS signings that are letting us down, and that's been the case all season. Disappointing to read that. I hope its mis-quoted or we're misinterpreting it.
  21. Voted Johnson for his goals but on another day would have been grimmy - that was his best game in a motherwell shirt.
  22. Hmmm.... the tone of that article and continual use of the word "hopeful" doesn't exactly fill me with confidence..... Really do hope we can tie him down for a while. The lad looks a player.
  23. For me, it's too often with Thompson, every f**king time in fact.... while we can't control the refs behaviour on the park, as a minimum i feel the club should be making some noise and sticking the boot in here. Put the pressure on to not to let him ref a motherwell game again. Absolutely no excuse for the result in this instance though.
