  1. Anier looked done in after chasing down the 4 Thistle defenders while Sutton sauntered about the centre circle. Think it was right to bring him off but I fear for Kerr that he is going to become a bit of a scapegoat if he continues to come on to cover the right wing in favour of an attack minded player. Today was the most I've noticed Ramsden in a game but didn't come away thinking he was motm.
  2. Poor game but welcome 3 points. Not much to get excited about on 1st half but thought we made a promising start to the 2nd half as Faddy seemed to have license to move central and got himself in a couple of goal scoring chances. Lasley should have sewn the game up after Anier put it on a plate. Last half hour was pretty concerning. Not sure if the game changed due to Carswell, Higgy, poor fitness or nerves. Hopefully see a signing or two this week to provide some much needed creativity.
  3. Carswell was very good at what he does. Hutch was my motm tho. Class above. Bannigan caught the eye for Thistle, really tidy player.
  4. So McGeough isn't coming because he wants to play right midfield rather than right wing. Three other deals for English based players have fell through due to finances or cold feet about moving north.
  5. Have said previously that I'd like us to sign McGeough despite the drawbacks of the loan system. Not convinced he is the out and out winger McCall goes on about though.
  6. Where did the Sam Sheridan thing come from? Looks like a potential replacement for Law but McCall seems insistent on the pacey winger.
  7. Glad to hear that Erwin is seemingly catching the eye. Hopefully he and/or Moore get an opportunity to play alongside a fit McFadden in the not too distant future.
  8. Seems bits and bobs of Ritchie Jones since he was a kid at Man United. Steady enough pro that could do a job on the right but not the type of player that McCall said he was looking for.
  9. The one Partick Thistle player I'd have liked us to have signed was O'Donnell. Couldn't afford him though. Doubt Forbes will feature much.
  10. Scott MacDonald may have a bit of arrogance about him but he worked his balls off to achieve what he did. Unless Watt is well managed, he'll disappear within a few years. Wonder if we still have a winger on trial? Mind we nearly signed the Belgian boy at one point last season.
  11. He's got the Celtic crest on the back window of his motor. Not for me. As I've said before though, McGeough appears to be a much more grounded guy and I think he could maybe do a job for us.
  12. 3-1 Thistle. Lawless to prove a point. Will be good seeing a couple of forward thinking fullbacks on show.
  13. To be fair, outwiith his Bradford connections, we've never really raided the English leagues under McCall.. Consequently, we have no additions to the squad that are capable of generating a transfer fee.
  14. Baffles me that both Ramsden and Kerr got 2 year deals.
  15. Vigurs should be tucking in on the left, nowhere near good enough to play in the middle.
  16. McCall is not one for throwing kids into the team. Would be nice to see Moore and Erwin get a sniff but the majority of the kids don't look like they are anywhere near ready physically to make the step up.
  17. Think Faddy exceeded all expectations last season as we didn't know what to expect fitness wise. Doesn't appear to have progressed at all since the kuban game but not entirely sure whether that is down to fitness, attitude or lack of quality around him. Given the lack of creativity in the team, we really need to move him up front and see what he can do. Some of his best play for Motherwell previously came in a front two with Stuart Elliott. Think it's time to play him in a mobile front two or three and see what he can do. Imo, we're better off without Sutton at the moment as the long ball stuff will never work. Almost 10 years since McFadden scored a farewell brace at home to Partick Thistle. Hopefully he can kick off his season next weekend and start to inspire those around him.
  18. From what I've seen of Partick Thistle, they look a far slicker team than us. Could be a tasty one next week.
  19. If only Sheffield United had put an extra few quid on the table...
  20. Butcher has been keen to highlight that Inverness sign players to fit a particular style of play. Polar opposite from McCall's lazy approach.
  21. Anier was away on international duty so maybe toiling. Although he must be fucked to get dropped for McHugh.
  22. Anier and ZFA out for McHugh and Lawson. Rapid!
  23. Might not be pretty to watch but I fancy us to grind out a result tomorrow.
