  1. Sickening news, hope he has a quick recovery.

    Big Hutchie

Think your being a bet over critical there, yes he didn't have his best game and while trying to control the ball gave Driver the ball for his first effort but after that he took no chances and leathered anything else dodgy up the park. Yes they also got past him a few times in the game but I'm sure they also got past everyone else at some point. Craigan did well covering him and talking him through the game so I'm sure he learned a bit from that game that should help him develop more. PS also thought Hateley yet again showed he has the potential to be a great RB - if only he realised its his best position and stopped trying to be a good midfielder. PPS glad to hear big Hutch will be fit for next week

    Hearts - Motm

Hateley edged it over Law for me.

Although maybe not quite ready for the 1st team week in week out, I think McHugh is a decent squad player who will grow in confidence through the season. As for needing another left back, from what I saw of Halsman against Leeds, I'd say we have a decent back up for Hammell who would do us a turn if needed. On the subject of youngsters coming through I also think that Lawless, Smith, McKinnon and Page will be useful additions this season. My one concern is that Ross Forbes - who I still think has great potential - just doesn't seem to be able to get into his stride when playing for us. Don't know if its an mental block or what but I really hope he kicks in this year and starts turning potential into reality.

    Faddy

Don't shoot the messenger but I've heard that both rangers and celtic have been in talks with his agent and that celtic are the more willing club wanting him but he'd have to take a very stringent medical before they offer a contract.
  6. who were the reserves playing today, what did you make of the trialists and what were their positions?
  7. Was chatting to a couple of leeds fans on holiday and they think we have a good chance of beating them. They spent most of the time slating their full team except for snodgrass - felt like I was reading this forum really looking forward to this game!
  8. OK. for what its worth I'd give the club £25m and a further £10m intrest free loan to be paid back over 20 years. The provisions for this would be that the £25m must be invested and that 50% of the yearly profit was re invested with the other 50% used for wages - if in one year the return was greater than 10% (£2.5m) then I'd allow anything over that 10% to be put towards buying a player. The other £10m would have to be invested also but any yearly profit would be used to help reduce the gate prices to £12 with any extra money taken from the initial £10m - I'd pay the cost the 1st year. I hope that by doing this, the quality of players we could attract would be as good as our present best players or better, that with a stronger team we could challenge for europe/cups and potentially we could increase our gate.
  9. If we sign these players and can add one or two loan deals then we could have the best squad we've had for a few of years Keep this up SMcC yer doing a great job
  10. this site is feckin funny, we're buying and selling like mad! http://www.football-.../Motherwell.php some also quite frightening!!!!! 25 Jun 2011 23:01:26 Motherwell to re-sign Haitian striker Abel Thermeus. Press conference set for Monday morning. Shaun Fagan also muted for a return to Fir Park.
  11. Yet another winger. If we sign them all we'll be playing with about 6 wingers - that will confuse the guys in the east stand who like abusing the winger!
  12. Not sure how true this is but heard we talking to Omar Daley who has been released by Bradford. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omar_Daley

    Al Sinaa?

wonder how many folk would be willing to go over if we played them in a friendly?

    Al Sinaa?

correct club name but they're from Iraq http://www.guardian....football-badges
  15. I know its a retro shirt and I'm not sure if this has been posted elsewhere but this looks good for our 125th Anniversary http://www.footballshirtculture.com/forum/fsc-forum/10/11-kit-rumours/motherwell-f.c.-puma-125-anniversary-retro-shirt.html
  16. I just don't get all this negative talk, I'm sure the club are well aware that a lot of fans will not be able to pay £300 or more but they will also be aware that there are some who will and intend to target these people/businesses to help secure the future of the club. FFS there are some guys out there who wouldn't miss £5000! So if the club can get them to part with the money lets get behind this idea. I don't go to every game but I will look at the proposals and if I can afford it and think it has been done correctly to the long term benefit of the club I'll join not because it makes me a better supporter than those who don't but because at this moment I'm lucky enough to be able to consider doing so and I'm sure there are others who feel the same way. I for one appreciate the guys that go week in week out, putting their money into the club - either paying at the gate or buying a season ticket - for various reason I don't but in my view this is a way that I can help the club. If we don't try this what is the alternative? go back to JB and say thanks for the shares and the free hold to the ground but could you now stick £750,000 into an account for us before you go?
  17. In the (possible) words of our ex groundsman - get real, yae cannae expect us to use that stuff on grass!
  18. If I've understood it correctly, people wont be buying a share. Instead in year 1 they would be buying the right to join a mutual society which would give them the right to one vote in the society plus other benefits - which are still unknown. The following years they would be paying ( I think ) a smaller amount to stay a member - similar to joining a golf club as someone else explained it. The shares JB has given the club would stay owned by the mutual and administered by trustees voted for by the members of the mutual.
  19. To be honest I think it will be hard to raise £750,000 but think it is feasible. Just done a quick calc. and it could be done 770 fans paying £300 = £231,000 400 fans paying £500 = £200,000 200 fans paying £1000 = £200,000 60 fans paying £2000 = £120,000 total £751,000 1430 fans willing and able to pay something to help the club is not out of the question in my view.

    Craig Brown

I wont be suprised to see a story in the papers over the next couple of days with brown saying how we wronged him but he's such a nice chap that he's decided to let it drop. :wank:
  21. Like last season they're still waiting for the new sponsors to be announced
  22. If I've got this right, any money raised in year 1 will be set aside for emergency use only ie paying wages if funds get low due to 3 or 4 call offs in a row. Anything left over will then be added to whatever is raised in year 2 for the same purposes and this continues year on year with the hope that we accumulate cash over time. Could be totally wrong on this and no doubt others will put me right (again)
  23. I'd assume that every year you would vote for a board to run the club on a daily basis.
  24. aye but he's now living in Glasgow - does moving from Liverpool to Glasgow make him a social climber?
  25. on facebook his status is on the dole
