Yet again, as last season, the players have not made it easy for themselves and we are looking at trying to squeeze into 6th place. Wins against St Mirren and ITC would have just about sealed a top 6 finish and put us in a great position to battle for 4th. TBH I think ITC will nick 6th place.

Sorry mate but I think your wrong. The team on sunday was set up with only 1 striker and 5 in midfield. The last time I saw us play that way up in Inverness was the cup game- this suited ITC and we got humped! We need to play with 2 strikers and 4 in midfield with the guys playing wide left and right being able to get up the wings and support the front two. No matter how good the guys played on sunday, each game should be looked at differently and if need be changes should be made to allow us to play to our strengths and their weaknesses.

McCall got his tactics spot on against celtic but I feel that the same team wouldn't fair as well against ITC. I think that we need 2 strikers playing up front and a 4 man midfield. I think that trying to play Ross on the left of midfield wouldn't work and could dent his confidence so I'd rather see him dropped to the bench and we played Murphy/Jones on the left with either Murphy/Jeffers partnering Sutton up front (Might this be the perfect game to rest Murphy, start with Jeffers and then bring Jamie on for the last half hour if required? The guy's had a terrific season but might benefit from a wee rest - remember we have the cup game the following week and Jeffers also needs match practice). The back 4 I'd be tempted to keep as is.

Unfortunatly we will have little control over where he ends up next season. If someone put in an offer and we knock it back he could then put in a transfer request and we'd more than likely have to reluctantly let him go. Piss poor I know but just a fact of modern football, the days of sticking an unhappy player in the reserves to rot are well and truly gone and not something we could afford to - or should - do. Anyway forget about next season, well done Darren and keep it up for the rest of this season

I've always have a great respect for JB and what he's done for us since administration and feel a wee bit gutted that he's standing down - strange that it feels a bit like one of the players who's been a good servent to the club is leaving/retiring! - I wish him and his family all the best for the future.

The guy was talking to a Rotherham fan who was moaning that we'd nicked one of thier best players on a pre contract and he thought the Rotherham fan had mentioned Le Fondre.

Heard from a friend that we've signed pre contract agreement with a guy from Rotherham United possibly Adam Le Fondre - anyone heard about this?

I think the way we saw them play today was more to let Forbes play his natural game. I'm assuming that SMC has had them playing this way in training and believes that giving Forbes a free run, while Las and Jennings hold the midfield, make us a better attacking team. It will be interesting to see what happens when Saunders returns and Hateley is available for a midfield position.

Got to agree with Orinoco, the guy put in a good shift. He's still a young guy learning his trade but I do believe that he will become the guy we seen at the start of last season. Great to see him getting a good round of applause when he was subed.

Thought they all played well today but Jennings got my vote for his control of the midfield. Not knocking Hutch but I thought some of his ball control was slack and could have caused us problems against a better team.

I remember sometimes standing behind the opponents goals on sunny days and changing ends at half time before the cage was put up - seem to remember that you could still do it at some games when the cage 1st went up. Best memory doing that was the friendly against Liverpool (my english team) with Dalglish, Rush etc that team was different class!

Short term view my arse - more like a realistic view. Do you honestly think that we have a couple of youngsters ready to play week in, week out? We did that with Clarkson and nearly ruined him! After his 1st season he went off the boil for the next 18months and endured a hell of a lot of abuse from some 'Well fans. Is this what you want for the young guys we have now? Once we've secured a top 6 finish then we can start giving the young guys a chance. As for the well looking dry - your having a laugh! Saunders and Hutchison both look like they could make us money in a year or two and I've every confidence that we will bring through one or two of the others you mentioned but not just yet.

what about the difference between a top six finish or not, an extra game against one of the OF (+8000 crowd) or an extra game against accies (+3000 crowd) which works out at roughly an extra £60,000 to £100,000. As far as I'm concerned, with the state we're in, thats a fuckin hell of a lot to play for!
