Better to be underwhelmed than over hyped. I had us down for finishing the season 7th or 8th under Brown so if he keeps us there or gets us to the top 6 I'll be happy with his first 6months in charge. Welcome to the drivers seat of the fir park rollercoaster Mr McCall.

Only seen the second half but I thought we look 100x better than we did on sunday, chased balls, harrassed players and although we never had a shot on target I did feel that we could have got a goal which is more than i thought on sunday against rangers which is now my benchmark of how pish we can be.

A lot of folk on here - including myself- thought we'd finish in the bottom 6 at the start of the season when Brown was in charge.

If we're going for a quick fix, I'd rather we brought back Leitch. The guy would have the respect of the players, knows what they can do and by appointing him Boyle would give most on here a hairy fit!

Last season I thought that Hateley was a great right back, he kept most of his opponent's tied down and going forward he posed a threat. I also think that his link up with Lasley and O'Brian, where they played one touch passes between the three of them, was at times a joy to watch. Because of this I still believe that the guy has talent but I just don't think that it shows in midfield. Move him back to his old position and let see if we can get him, lasley and Humphrys working down the right. As for Gow, I do think that he could do us a turn but I'm just not sure that our team can create the space the guy needs to play his style. We'd need to change the way we play to suit him and I'm just not sure we have that luxury.

Just don't understand yesterdays performance, we never started the engine nevermind not getting out of 1st gear! We gave them to much respect and room. Add to that our passing was on par with an under 11 team. Stayed for the full 90min waiting for a sign that the players did give a fuck but I didn't see anything. Very very poor from the players - get the finger out for Wednesday boys! PS tip for youngy, either play Hateley at right back or leave him out - the guys never a midfielder! Might not be a lot of folks cup of tea but I'd rather see Fitzpatrick in midfield. At least he chases the ball, tries to tackle and doesn't give opponents time on the ball.

Sorry to hear this sad news. It puts what we’ve all being bothering about on here over the last few weeks into perspective. Heart felt condolences to you and your family. RIP deaddogman, a true dosser.

John Greigs middle name is Melvin?

wait a minute brazilmfc, your father made you support celtic as a youngster, fair enough parents do these things but letting you play for Airdrie - thats child cruelty! you should have reported him for that!
-
Liked the wee pause before he mentioned him - kind of like it was hard to say!
-
I noticed that in Youngs interview he mentioned every motherwell manager that he'd worked under except 1
-
could we no get him back for just the 1 game - just for the crack?
-
We could do a lot worse than appoint him again - better than Hughes, Chisholm etc - but I can't see it happening.
-
Glad to see that we are backing steve on this. Well done JB!

How about a wee chorus of Integrity, Brown - your having a laugh!

I missed the game on wed but like everyone else I've had a look at the incident and can't believe that Jennings deliberatly tried to get himself sent off, so until something else is produced which proves otherwise I'm happy to support him. While I understand that the club cannot say too much at the moment, I'd like to think that they could at least issue a statement along the lines of we've spoken to the player regarding this and he has assured us that he had no involement in the issue so we are happy to back him 100% at the moment.

I can't be bothered looking for the quote but I'm sure Brown stated in an article in Febuary that he and Knox were commited to Motherwell for the next 18 months. Although I'm no lawyer but if he also said the same to JB, then in my eyes he had a verbal contract with Motherwell which I understand in Scottish law is the same as a written contract. any legal minded guys out there who could clear this up?

From the record, ….Milne revealed the Dons had been approached by a third party asking if they were interested in Brown as McGhee's replacement. But that is certainly not the same as implying Brown had instructed the agent to sound out Aberdeen on his behalf. Brown said "Its true to say that an agent approached me. "He asked if I would be interested in the Aberdeen job and my reply was, "Who wouldn't be?"…. So were now to believe that an annonimus person was running about asking Aberdeen and Brown questions without prompting? Even if this was the case then sorry ya auld baw sack but knowing the SPL rules you should have still answered that if Aberdeen are interested then get them to talk to Motherwell first as you " value my own integrity" and "won't tolerate anyone suggesting that I would ever work in an underhand fashion." Since you carried on talking to Aberdeen without them asking Motherwell, as fars as I'm concerned your integrity aint worth a pail of shit! PS If Craig Brown really believes that what's been said about him has been unfair, wrong and a disgrace. And he'll be saying that to the faces of those who have wrongly jumped to conclusions about him. Then I'd gladly meet him and tell him this to his face.
-
"Craig informed Motherwell that Aberdeen were interested in speaking to him and the Fir Park club raised no objection," said Milne. Under SPL rules is it not up to Aderdeen to contact Motherwell? 5-0 Ha Ha!

to be honest I'm not one of tam cowans biggest fans but credit where it's due, well done tam.

My view on what he said was that knowing most managers like to bring in their own no2, rather than say something that might upset any new boss, he simply side stepped the question, leaving the door open for him to become no2 if the new boss wanted him/was happy to have him if Boyle has this in mind.

Great interview from craigan, spoke well dodged the "would you like....." question very well. Can see him doing well in managment and tv. I'm quite happy for him to help look after things for a few weeks until someone is appointed - I think he will have the troops well fired up for the next couple of games - roll on tuesday! ps last time I seen a good positive interview from someone at motherwell the auld c**t fecked off to the sheep shaggers within 24hrs - hope JB has stephen locked up safe!

Agree 100% tony, I thought that they had been offered contracts but said they would rather work without them and I don't think that many on here have been shouting for the board to get them to sign. We've all been quite happy to let thing be so we can't shout about it now. Can't see many Motherwell players following him up north, Reynolds can make more money down in england, most of the squad are on long(ish) contracts so I dont believe Aberdeen will be able to afford them and Blackman would be turning a 3 hour drive home into a 6 hours plus slog. So that leaves only Gow available. My concern is any players he may have been lining up to come on load in Jan.

I wasn't meaning Celtic to get beat, just that this whole thing started with what celtic seen as a wrong penalty desicion.
