  1. Ah, a loyal dyed in the wool well fan . Try parkhead if you want an easy time . It full of good time only fans .

It's called making an informed choice not to do something. For the record I go, apart from today, home and away each week and am a season ticket holder and shareholder for that matter. Your comments are pish

  2. Bereft of ideas against a Jambo side that played us at our own pressing game. He ended up playing several players out of position at the end of the game, smacked of desperation. No plan B. No thanks Barraclown.

I wait to get shot down, but this guy is not the answer...

  3. Bitter to lose two goals to a piss poor Slumdee United side. McDonald was quite quiet today and it showed that Chalmers is really a stop gap until Lionel is back. Keeper was solid and Laing is playing his best football at the club, MOTM today.

As for the old clown and his drum, the woman is his sister and his shite drumming is a major irritation to me and most who are near him in the East Stand.

I am not there to listen to some old codger trying to make a spectacle on himself, I want to ram his stick where the sun doesn't shine.

I'm old skool and prefer singing and shouting to the constant banging of drums, glad the children left theirs in the house.

Need to get 3 points at Swinecastle on Wednesday.

  4. Enjoyed tonight, new found vigour in our team. Curious as to why Fletch has been favoured to Ted, he seems to be the sharper of the two on what I've seen. For me I would play Watt ahead of Law at right back, the young boy looks to have a big future ahead. I liked McDonald's like up play and the variety that DC offered in place of Lasley.

There is hope and with KK back next week we have the beating of Inverness for sure

  5. Interested to see Erwin only lasted 56 mins again York City who drew with the mighty Leeds United...York equaliser was setup by none other than Mr Anthony Straker...I could see Erwin going out on loan this year.

At Motherwell he got a chance to play when he was struggling and you don't get that luxury in the Championship, I hope the big man proves me wrong. Take him back in a heartbeat.

  6. Sorry, I have a terrible feeling about this year. I just feel that we will struggle again. 11th or relegated. Weak midfield relying on Las AGAIN, Mick being indifferent and an unproven strike force in Scottish football with no real plan B.

  7. Did you see the amount of consulting Baraclown that he did in the dug out today with Gordon Marshall (!!)...the fucking goalkeeping coach....and bringing Scott Leitch into things isn't helping.

Stephen Kenny, Pat Fenlon, now this dick, these guys have won things in a mickey mouse league.

The guy is a joke...."we have to keep winning individual battles, bond with each other, not be afraid of mistakes" no arsehole, we have to put the ball in the goals and stop conceding simple goals by shutting down the crosses coming in and playing a system that the players can work to. We have all these wingers and he plays Erwin in the wing!?.

I feel sorry for Ferguson and Watt as Straker is the worst left back we have ever had.

Baraclown must go and those who appointed him, hang your heads.

As for a replacement...no idea, just someone with knowledge of the Scottish game and a ready made assistant who he has worked with recently.

  8. Don't fucking give me support the Club and the team. We have fans just like any every Club, we have vocal supporters, we have vocal detractors, we also have happy clappers that watch a competitive sport who have no ambition and accept mediocrity because it is what they are used to. The usual bullshit response from yourself atop your place on pedestal as the holier than thou superfan who goes to games now and again, buys a fleece from the Club shop and strives to be on a committee.

For those that go to games home and away, we can see first hand what is happening. We will be relegated with Ian Baraclough in charge because he hasn't changed it, we are poorer and he is picking formations in every match that don't work. But hey, Motherwell fans don't know what we're talking about and these folk definitely do, so he must know what he's doing. We have lost 3 goals yet again, we have created very little and we have failed to win for the 7th match under Baraclough. It can't continue no matter how much you want to bury your head in the sand and play the superfan.

M v.d Gaag was the right man at the wrong time according to the Club. He was probably first choice, but due to his insisting on changing the Club, we went for the safe and cheap option. It looks as though we'll regret such a poor decision.

I totally agree, just wasted a day up at Dingwall to watch 11 guys masquerade as Motherwell Football Club. A few good touches from Grant and the keeper looks good, but Jesus Christ we will get relegated with this guy unless he miraculously turns it around, don't see it though.

  9. I say it all the time....the problems lie with the coaching methods and lack off...Kenny Black is not the answer.

Baraclough is looking a bit of a dick now imho. He should see he needs fresh coaching perspective and fresh thinking.

I realise they are not his players, all the more reason to clear the decks of the backroom shite and bring in some fresh ideas....

  10. I would say commercially the club could have been more ruthless and prudent in a difficult marketplace. Alan's lack of experience has exposed us to not creating the revenue opportunities with another more streetwise and savvy General Manager/Chief Executive could have created for the club.

I am not anti-Alan Burrows, I am however concerned that we have been operating with someone who lacks the commercial experience in the business world especially when we are faced with some of the toughest times financially.

  11. She gained the "Executive" to her title as time progressed and JB's regular involvement diminished. However her CV before coming to Motherwell was hardly dazzling and a lot less impressive than Alan's.

Total garbage, please try and get your facts right. A blind man can see she has a much stronger CV than Alan Burrows before Motherwell.

  12. My post was in relation to criticism of Flow being bang out of order.

I said it wasn't. I stand by that as I have yet to see any signs of progress or direction under his stewardship and stick by the whole "gig is too big for him" and "we need a commercially minded experienced head" running things.

Was highlighting we are in a bad way just now in all departments and dont believe he cant be faultless in it all.

And a GM that still does media interviews, etc 8months after being appointed when there is a team in place is bizarre.

Get everyone won't agree, but know many do.

+1 for me, spot on, to deny Burrows isn't involved in some way with our off field activity and subsequent nosedive is ridiculous.

Still doing the media interviews smacks of running with the hares and hunting with the hounds. T

  13. I felt at St Mirren that something was still wrong with the team, even after our mini run, where we still rode our luck. I think I know what it is...

    KENNY BLACK

Why this talentless prick is still at our club is truly astonishing. Just think about it for 1 second. Players think, oh good, new gaffer, new ideas, no grudges, fresh pair of eyes and what do they get...same old shite on the training pitch.

New manager should mean a shake up, new ideas, new thinking, but all it means for us is a cheap option replacement for McCall and the same pish behind the scenes that has caused the rot.

If the manager has anything about him he should get some new coaches in and persuade Black to go.

We need a fundamental change, but won't see this until we finish 10th (or worse) at the end of the season.

  14. Firstly thanks to the Society, even more so for posting on the hoof. However its something that should have been drafted well in advance of the announcement on Les' involvement and posted with the green light. There's been a lot of Chinese whispers and conjecture, it could have been avoided with a bit of forethought. Seems to be a recurring issue.

Secondly, when we're broke and looking to cut our cloth, adding another level of management seems contradictory to this. What would someone with Chief Exec on their office door do differently from a General Manager? What would you suggest they do in addition to what Flow does presently?

Third, Les has injected his cash and appears to be making decisions like a de-facto owner, making appointments and asking others to step down. Now as he's done so with a large chunk of his personal cash you could argue he's entitled to, however £500,000 or so of the £1,500,000 JB asked for to transfer his shareholding was contributed by 1,000 WS members. Strategic and tactical decisions are being made without our input. I'm no way advocating straw polls on every issue, we have to trust the elected board will look after the greater good for the membership they represent. If you don't agree with that direction then garner support and get on the board yourself.

The talking point I wish to make is based on the above those who have contributed more have more influence on where the club heads. Does that mean that going forward those who contributed £1k, £5k, and £25k (opposed to the majority who opted for £300), should have more of a say as a precedent has been set, or is it if you contribute such a large amount then you are exempt, a white knight clause.

I was advocating bringing someone in on a reduced wage, say someone who is retired and no longer needs to draw on expensive costs, perhaps more of a figurehead who can lead the club and doesn't have to be there 5 days a week. Someone who can provide the General Manager with some guidance and be a sounding board, a trusted advisor and who can leverage much needed experience into the Football Club, that's what I suggest.

  15. No you have not,

and sadly rather than looking in to whats happening and more importantly the changes occuring, you and some others seem intent on trying to publicly destroy the very essence of whats been built and belittle what has been done or choose to ignore it completely.

another £100k short term loan has just been transferred from the society funds to the club and that keeps the club trading , that is the society 'Working' the club could not trade without that capital.

sure there have been mistakes, most crititcally by the club not trading on a realistic budget after the Rangers Fiasco played out, and my personal moan that the communication outwith society meeting has been almost non existant, if you go to meetings and participate all the answers and the troubles are there to be seen and explain a lot.

but when you have less than ten? volunteers, working on a project, and the goals are frequently changing, but they still raise what around £6-700k and in a recession like one not seen for many decades from a community with a core support of around 3500 then I'd say they are doing pretty well particularly when the almighty Dempster and Boyle have forced the situation and plunged the 'club' into a crisis situation, which the society and the club management have doen tremendously well to get to this point out off.

All the digs about coffers running dry? thats the club, not the society, its essentially bad management or a difficult trading situation dependant on how you look at it, the Rangers fiasco hit hard but in reality the reaction to it was not strong enough, the society has it funds and is using them exactly as was designed, its not donating money to the club that dissapears, its supporting the club, through these very tough times.

I think there are flaws, but admire how much effort has been put in to secure the future of the club but also to fundraise outwith the memberships from a very cynical support base, that wishes for far more than is available and sometimes does not appreciate the gravity of the situation or at very least offer alternatives, if they do not think something is the best option for the longer term.

or to put it simply, the Society and the Club are on the brink of signing a 0% loan for 5 years to stabilise the club, what is the other option that is a.) better value or b.) available in your wee world?

EDIT: in response to the traveller , the Society did raise the £800k but then Boyle pulled a nasty and upped the goal, take of that what you will

double EDIT: and while im on it, remember Boyle writing off his debt, servicing 'his loan' payments over the last decade would have covered much of the losses

Thanks for the sly dig on my "wee world"... I am not in favour of the club bleeding the fans dry year on year whilst running at a loss. We should have been concentrating our efforts on securing addition revenue streams from business and supporters in other ways and the lack of business acumen running through the club has been very apparent.

The luxury of going to the well society for another hand out is negating the imperative for fresh thinking. Any other business has to be creative when times are hard and doesn't have it's customer creating a financial safety net to bail it out.

It's clear we need proper governance and a structured board in place and hopefully we will see decent commercial management put in place to move the club forward. I'd like to see a Chief Executive figure appointed to support Flow in his day to day job and act as a figurehead for the club. We don't have a chairman or chief executive which has been a glaring omission I feel.

You've really not got a handle on this have you? No bank debt, creditors paid in full... Who is likely to put us into administration?

And for the avoidance of doubt, the scheme has worked with another dipping into the reserves at the moment...

Yes I have. Did I say we would go into administration today, now? No as I know there is no-one chapping at the door.

However in 3-5 years when we are back on our uppers and the coffers are running dry where exactly are we going to get the fans to keep paying the bills....sorry it's a scheme designed to rip the arse out of us the fans,

The whole thing is still built on a wait and see approach if the fans adopt it and so far it's not been a success as The Well Society hasn't raised the money from the fans. Simple.

  17. If it is true im delighted though! The cheap option AND we get to keep Black. The players will be fuckin delighted,,still no need to keep themselves as fit a "professional" athlete should be and hopefully no impact on Golf/Nandos time. Win/win all round

Indeed, am looking forward to.....fuck all, perhaps relegation? Black and co need to move on, same old same old..yawn.
