  1. I enjoyed this part of the official announcement:

    "During that time the Society Board have committed to growing both membership numbers and funds in order to demonstrate that the supporter base is fully behind the concept of fan ownership."

    Eh, no the fans aren't, hence the need to borrow more money and build the club on debt with falling crowds.

    Let's bleed the fans dry as predicted...stupid idea I for one am gutted this is going through. How many times will true fans have to dip into their pockets to keep this daft scheme afloat?

    We should have been cutting our cloth accordingly, not running at a loss all those years Dempster was in charge.

    This is the last I'll say on the matter, however I see administration within 3-5 years, perhaps sooner, but in a town like Motherwell with our small supporter base the scheme simply will not work.

  2. The Well Society has bailed the club out twice since it started. Maybe you see that as a waste of time, but for me, that was a good thing.

    Yes I do, never a fan of it and don't think it's the way forward, each the their own.

  3. Basically the Well Society is a waste of time and hasn't raised the money it needs, hence the begging letter. Poor decisions behind the scenes have left us with the utter disaster.

    So think for 1 minute about this....

    Well Society gets the shares and then what? Rule by committee and start asking the fans to stump up more money each month/year??? This is Motherwell and last time I looks it wasn't the most affluent fan base.

    Time we stopped pissing about, got some proper EXPERIENCED business minded people in with commercial acumen to sort this mess out, a decent commercial manager and chief exec type.

    TBH, administration cannot be far away, either this season or next.

    Change is a coming...

  4. Those that run the club should be drawing up provisional short lists anyway as it's a cast iron certainy that McCall won't be here next season.

    We need a new broom to come in in May and bring a whole new approach to the club and get everything sorted out over the summer.

    He have 15 players who are out of contract/loan returns at the end of the season, we really need to start looking forward now to what kind of club we want in 2015/16.

    What we require is some kind of forward vision and ethos at the club.

    Forward vision....

    With the current BOD, manager, backroom staff its inevitable we will go down....

    Take a look around Fir Park when you are next in, it's in a right state, rotting and tired. Sadly we have been on the slide for too long and no amount of bitching of whinging isn't going to change that.

    SMc has had his hands tied with money and I firmly believe JP leaving has meant we cannot play with half fit players, he kept us going when we needed it, co-incidence he has left and we have had our worst run of injuries and niggles in years?. No direction inside or outside the club and as for the Trust, a stupid idea of asking financially strapped fans to run a football club.

    We need to accept that we might need to go down and regroup before coming back to attack.

  5. I think my biggest concern is wether or not SMc is a manager capable of pulling us out this shit spell.

    Give him the due respect he deserves after our league placings of recent years but that was working with good quality players, confident players who were winning regular.

    By all accounts he's a Molly coddling manager who is good when everything is going well, gets a good atmosphere around the ground etc, good man manager. But Is he the type of manager who can subsequently kick arses and get them working when they are not playing well and things aren't going in our favour??

    In my opinion I do not think that he is. I don't think his style will suit this type of challenge. I really hope I am wrong but I'm not. He's to negative in his style of play to be able to boost confidence and have them battling. Even Thistle fans are commenting on how we seem to lack fight and didn't seem bothered.

    His comments after the match today seem to lack any sort of fight or passion and he sounded defeated. Not what we want tbh. This is where we need passion. This is where we need positivity to get our fans up for this, not comments like we were punching above our weight past few years... That's negative.

    They say when your in relegation battles, every game is like a cup game...... Well we all know how well we do in Cup Games...

    Well said.

  6. I don't know anything but it certainly looks that way. The players heads have been down from the start of the season, unless they are so fragile that the Europa League defeat set us up for the season, why would that be the case? Especially since we've always had a good team spirit up till now.

    Add in, Dempster leaving, the controversial internal appointment, Stuart McCalls general after match demeanour, the small squad and lack of turn a round of players.

    My own suspicion is there are serious financial problems but I might be adding 2 + 2 to get 5.

    Not forgetting John Porteous leaving I think this has had a bigger impact than most things. He ensured we had a team to put out every week, now we are getting crocked and struggling to get back to fitness...

  7. Flares you say? The wide legged items of clothing? Now that is a crime as they went out with Nelsons' eye :nod: There is a difference between them and smoke pellets, perhaps 'tapping into something you clearly know little about' is the phrase you are looking for.

    It was the first time I have seen an actual flare at the game. Pathetic

    Those wee dicks boil my piss.

    As for the game McCall is a fuckin' tit for picking that side and clearly not changing it when they went down to 10 men. Every time we go out it's the same shite from him. He needs to go balls out the bath in the Scottish Cup and ensure victory by actually playing an attacking team.

  8. Hello,

    I just received a very unprofessional email from Motherwell FC, which didn't even have a title in the email, please see below:

    Give me a wee call on 01698333333"

    I'm all for the club being proactive, but this is shockingly unprofessional. Firstly, the style of the email starts with the footer and then it's not even from Katie McCrossan, but someone called Paul Frew

    Then we have the lack of capitalisation, spelling....oh dear.

    It's a sad state of affairs that this email was not proof read before going out into the open. I expect better.

  9. With Flow seemingly still handling the MFC interviews, has the budget for a new Head of Club Media gone? Or, are they just finding it difficult to find a replacement?

    The top man at the club carrying out the media interviews - sums up what a shambles we are in....fan ownership, don't seem likely.

  10. I think we gained quite a bit in Portugal, if you seen some of the You Tube footage you'd have seen some of the players brushing up their football Golf game!! Being able to pass a ball into a 6ft wide hole will stand us in great stead for the rest of the season!!

    I just hope that Davie Clarkson re-imbursed the club for his plane fare/bed and board!!

    And the rest of the lazy pricks that just fucked that up - sickening. The weather was so bad here they HAD to fuck off to Portugal - wanks very much.

  11. Quite simply one of the best posts I have ever read on here. It's not just McCall but the directors and backroom staff that need a good shake too when it comes to the whole youth system.

    Here are the players from our youth system that Stuart McCall has introduced and given league game time to since he arrived at the club.

    start+sub (goal) {total time on pitch}

    Stuart Carswell 45+29

    Zane Francis-Angol 22+21 (2)

    Fraser Kerr 14+11

    Craig Moore 2+7 (1)

    Steve Hetherington 1+2

    Gary Smith 0+2 {45 minutes total}

    Ross Stewart 0+1 {injury time}

    Euan Murray 0+1 {26 minutes total}

    Jack Leitch 0+1 {injury time}

    Dale Shirkie 0+1 {10 minutes total}

    In my view giving significant game time to three youth players in three seasons is not good enough and only one of those players would now consider themselves as a first team choice.

    The club is posting significant loses and has failed to sell on any players for significant transfer fees for some time. Surely a major reason for this is down to our failure to develop quality youth players?

    Also, at a time when the club is struggling for money we have to look at the significant amount of money being put into youth development from which we see very little return.

    Sadly, I feel like our youth system, which has always been very good over the 25 years or so I've been coming to Fir Park, has fallen into a state of stagnation at best and perhaps even complete regression.

    Stuart McCall as a manager doesn't seem to be willing to give youth a chance and the game time given over to youth products during his tenure has been pitiful.

    Of course, there is the argument that the players aren't good enough to play for the first team but that simply raises the questions 'Why not?' and 'What's the point of having a youth team then?'

    This neglect of the youth team under McCall, I believe, will have far reaching consequences unless something is done to address it soon.

    Years ago a young Celtic supporting Hearts player called James McFadden joined our youth system. Partly because it was less traveling for him, but also because we had a good record of giving young players first team experience and it was attractive for a young talent to come to the club.

    By attracting McFadden to the club we got one of the best players of the last 30 years, made a million pounds and produced a Scotland international.

    Today, if there was another young talent like James, would you hand on your heart recommend to him to join Motherwell for the betterment of his career? I think any sensible advice would steer him to Dundee Utd or even Kilmarnock who have taken over our mantle as youth developers.

    The fewer chances we give to youth, the less likely we are to attract better players, as they will simply join big clubs like Celtic or clubs that provide an opening for youth to get game time.

    In an age where the only future for a club like ours is to develop our own talent I really feel as if the clubs strategy has become a danger to itself and needs to be addressed.

  12. You really didn't read Well 4 Europe's post very well. The boy has a point, we have performed poorly and had 3 shots on goal. £60 down he is entitled to his point rather than just a be shot down by someone resorting to name calling. Sad.

  13. How dare they young lads try and bring some atmosphere to a top flight scottish football stadium !! Who do they think they are ?!! Strathclyde's finest at their best the C*NTS

    Wrong, act like an idiot, get treated like one. They bring shame to my club. Police doing their job as were the stewards.

  14. Yes Shaka, totally agree.

    I am fed up with the corner shop mentality that now prospers in Motherwell Football Club. Yes I am am all for trying to balance the books, however we are now operating a very narrow minded approach to the whole situation. We finished 3rd in the league and yet we are determined to spend nothing and have a nice wee "rainy day" fund instead or trying to at least consoldate something.

    No thanks, I will be voting no and hopefully we will get someone with an understanding of how we can move the club forward, rather than building up money at the expense of a deteriorating ground and dwindling team.

  15. Randolph

    Hateley Hutchinson Craigan Hammell

    Humphrey Lasley Jennings Law

    Murphy Higdon

    Back to basics for me. First choice back five which has been pretty solid for large spells this season. Hateley back to right back where he's at his best.

    Get Las and Jennings back together in the middle, a good performance from them will be the foundation for another victory at Tannadice. I would Punt Law back to the left and get him on the ball in space where he can do damage. He has to stop coming inside so much to look for the ball when he's supposed to be outwide. Like on Saturday where he kept tucking in and left us with no natural width on the right and left Clancy with the almost impossible task of trying to be Dani Alves by forcing him to try and be right winger and right back with little support. Actually felt a bit sorry for Clancy on Saturday as I felt he was doing his best in an uncomfortable role he wasn't used to. And finally unleash the Humph! He's been poor this season but he had a good cameo against QP and looked sharp in the bounce match against Fleetwood setting up another goal. A long spell on the bench hopefully has him fired up and he should have space to do some damage in what should be an open match.

    I would go 442 as above and I actually think McCall will go with my 11 but will start with Murphy on the left, Humphrey on the right and Law in a midfield three with Jennings and Lasley. Try and make us a bit more solid and not conceed an early goal type thing and try and grow into the game. Maybe not a bad idea given our recent form. United will probably come at us and it will give us a chance to play the counter attacking game that suits us. Hopefully we get more support to Higdon, think the first goal will be crucial so hopefully we'll get it.

    A draw wouldn't be a bad result but I fancy us to suprise a few people with a good performance and a win. :cheers:

    Cannot argue with that selection mate, exactly how we built up the points this season. I hope McCall can see this soon, Humph and Hateley work well this way, as do Hammell, Law and Murphy.

    A wee appearance for Henrik in the 2nd half to build his confidence and possible get Omar on for The Lump.
