Well I'll certainly be there. Maybe yesterday's injustices will fire us up. Its a new game and there are 3 points up for grabs. Yesterday's result apart the whole club is on a roll just now and income from the League Cup will bring some cheer.

After my rant about Craig Thomson I'll post my thoughts on less important aspects of the game. I thought we stuck to our gameplan well in the first half and stifled Celtic. That however, came at the cost of creativity. Talk of our physicality clearly worked so credit to Brendan Rodgers for that by taking advantage of a compliant media. In actual fact Celtic were the more physical team, as I thought they would be, and won more than their fair share of 50/50 balls. Some of our lads looked a little overawed by the occasion and we gave Celtic a tad too much respect at times. Our play, when in possession, was wasteful and we made too many unforced errors. Kipre should have been booked for his tackle on Dembele, but then again someone clattered Moult on the the right touchline and he escaped any card. My only concern was that we gave Celtic a bit too much freedom on the flanks. At half time we were very much in the game. Forrests' goal was down to slack defending but at that point I think Robbo felt lets go for it and began to make changes. Two game changing decisions then killed the contest and that was that. After the penalty the teams' heads went down possibly for the first time this season but they rallied well as professional pride kicked in. Still that wasn't enough to stop Celtic finding numerous gaps in our defence, but fortunately they couldn't add to their tally. My 2 MOTM were Carson and Hartley. Although we didn't win it was our best Final result and performance since 1991 i.e. it wasn't a drubbing. Our fans didn't have much to cheer about but maybe just maybe if 2 crucial decisions had gone our way then the result might have been better. Anyone who thinks that Craig Thomson will be reprimanded by the SFA is having a laugh - he'll probably turn up at one of our game sin the enxt week or two....just to make a point. Anyway lets look forward to Wednesday night's game. COYW.

I hope so. As we saw with Richard Tait, at Easter Road, it does not matter whether a player is fouled or not. If he dives or exaggerates the foul then thats a yellow card. However it was never a penalty in my book and that was a game changing decision. To be fair, acording to Trevor Carson, said that Thomson asked Sinclair if he dived or not and surprisingly, the player replied no. On that basis no card was dished out. Just before that incident, Moult is clearly impeded by Tierney and that should have been a penalty and red card. Two huge decisions which could have influenced the outcome. Another little incident which highlighted Craig Thomson's perfromance. In the second half the linesman on the north side indicated a throw in to us (he was standing about 6 feet away from the tackle). Thomson, who was standing maybe 20/25 yards away overuled him and awarded the throw in to Celtic. A referee can have one bad game, it happens; but Craig Thomson seems to have them more than most when we're involved. Anyhow, hew wrote himself into our history books yesterday and not for the right reason.

We had a good breakfast for you.

Thats it for me too Andy. I've never bought into the Scots media clap trap about big teams being wounded and dangerous after a defeat.
-
No doubt he was asked to comment on our physicality by a journalist. He should have responded that we hoped to match Celtic's physicality and wouldn't be intimidated by them.

I really hope it doesn't degenerate into the Craig Thompson show.

Brora away would some trip.

Scottish Premiership Game 13: Aberdeen (A) 18/11/17 15:00

No but the clamour for him to leave is understandable given the offence, damage and hurt he has caused to certain parties. -

Apologies for being petty, but it sure was. Just to rub salt in their wound Moulty scored both goals - how inconsiderate and selfish of us not to sell him cut price to the Dons in the summer. The media won't say it but I will "Well gain revenge on Aberdeen for league loss at Fir Park". If the "unbiased" BBC pundits consider that the result was down to Aberdeen being very poor then I hope many others think the same. We however, know better. A good win for us at the start of a difficult run of fixtures, and it sets us up nicely for next weekend's final. It seems that Robbo's formation caught Derek McInnes out and this was a game won as much off the park as on it. Good to see Liam Grimshaw step in and play well. He's a player I admire - full of running and aggression. A real team performance though. COYW! -

I'm looking for a win here, or at least a draw. We can start worrying about next week, tomorrow. -

There's plenty of space but you have to be quick. First come first served and you'll be competing with old soldiers who park there at every game. -

My favourite ref. Tiny was huge and had no fears when splitting up brawls. On more than one occasion I saw him throw players to the ground and even grab some troublemakers by the throat. He was scrupulously fair and widely respected for that. He wasn't one to dish out yellow a cards willy nilly. An old fashioned ref. -
The club may post them out as they're doing for our group or maybe a member of this site could pick a ticket up for you.
-
What are the criteria for buying tickets from todat onwards. I note that the Official site simply says photo ID is required. Can anyone turning up buy an unlimited amount of tickets providing they have the necessary ID?

I totally disagree with Project Brave but, as others have said, I'm glad we seem to be in it - nothing yet confirmed. So, tentatively, all credit to the club. It doesn't make geographic sense, with 2 Glasgow teams, 2 Lanarkshire teams, and 2 Edinburgh teams. However, if geography was to be an important criterion then you could have the situation whereby a club makes the elite grade pretty much on geography whilst "better qualified" teams, lose out. If geography was a principal criterion then you'd have 1 club from Ayrshire, 1 from Glasgow, 1 from Lanarkshire, 1 from Edinburgh, 1 from Tayside, 1 from Fife, and 2 from Forth Valley/Aberdeen/Highland. Its all hearsay at the moment but the project qualification criteria raises more questions than answers.

Remember the cash for such items doesn't go to our club.

My view exactly Weeyin and thats why I was one of the few to vote against the proposal. I have no problem in principle but think that 25,000 shares would have been a better limit. However, if the club has more shareholders then I suppose thats a good thing in principle as it broadens the base. If you are both a club shareholder and a Society member then you can only seek to influence the Society's voting decision but as a club shareholder you can vote however you like in your own right.
-
I asked some of these questions back in late September Iain (you can check back if you're so inclined). A £500K share sale represents about 17.4% of the club's issued shares. It would take the Society's holding down from 74% to 57%. Assuming the maximum number of shares were sold, a 57% holding is a little too low for my liking, but I know there are different views about this. £25k worth of shares would represent less than 1% of the issued shares. There are probably around a handful of parties already with this level of holding. I don't know about very large investors appearing over the horizon in years to come but I hope it doesn't happen. We don't want to go down the route Dundee has done. In terms of Society benefits, there are a range of views, all perfectly valid. For my part, benefits don't really interest me, although I wouldn't say I'd never take advantage of them. There are others who asked the question "Whats in it for me?", and many in between these two opposites. For the most part though, many ordinary fans will just want to own a few shares to have their own personal stake in the club and to be able attend the AGM. Again this is my own personal view.

Sorry for us auld yins whats the "DP" miss? Surely not displaced person or deep penetration?

I should make it clear that I'm answering only as an individual fan and shareholder, and in no way on behalf of the Society. The information is based solely on my personal experience. The answers I've given would apply to any shareholder. Yes, Iain, the Society needs to clarify matters officially.
-
Yes, they can be transferred or reregistered through the club. They are not listed. £10 has been the going rate for shares for a good number of years so that doesn't represent any sort of change from the long standing norm - I don't know how the valuation was arrived at in the mists of time. In years gone by, many years gone by, they were priced at £25 per unit. They are very very unlikely to ever pay dividends. I've held some for many years and never received a penny or expected to. I know its stating the obvious but they are not an investment in the financial sense.

As a neutral, impartial referee, he should remain detached. Football is a volatile and emotional game and one of the referee's jobs is to calm things down and gain respect. You can imagine the reaction if police, traffic wardens, planners, social workers and the like burst out laughing at clients. I'm not saying referees should remain humourless but there's a time and place for everything.

Scottish Premiership Game 12: Ross County (A) 04/11/17 15:00
Kmcalpin replied to Yabba's Turd's topic in Club Chat
Absolutely. However, I think we have a big enough squad to mix things up a little and wrongfoot opposition managers, who have sussed our game.
