Its been years and years since we brought on a decent goalie through our youth ranks. Alan Martin was highly rated by himself. No harm to the lad but he was a great rush to get on and by moving early his career seemed to nosedive. As far as I know he's had a load of clubs without settling anywhere. Hopefully he'll get back on the rails at NDP but not perform against us. A classic lesson to promising young footballers not to move on too early.

Yes we may have 4 on paper but are any of them even lower Premiership standard (I mean by that 8-10th place). I exclude Luke Watt from that number BTW, as he has still to develop. Craig Reid's position is unknown and I rate Josh Law as being a good Championship standard at best.

Goalkeeper - yes no argument there for me. Centre Back - last season we had a choice of 5 (McManus, O'Brien, Laing, Kerr or Ramsden). This year we have a choice of 2 or possibly 3 - one more needed. Central Midfield - given Las's age and our goals against tally we need another defensive midfielder. I'm not convinced of Jack Leitch.

Yes, these should now be our priorities Greg. We have to strengthen defensively if we are to reduce our goals against column.

Whilst the play offs will rightly be remembered for a long time, lets not forget that last season's squad took us to 2nd bottom place. It wasn't all the fault of the players - I'm sure there were other factors at play like a horrendous injury list, but if we are to improve on 11th place we have to upgrade our central midfield and defence, not ignoring our strikeforce of course. Our poor goals against tally wasn't all down to our strikers. Hopefully we see a new goalie, central defender(s) and central midfielder(s) brought in.

There's no guarantee whatsoever that these 2 lads will make it. Hopefully they will but they might not. I don't think it would hold back Dom Thomas as we played with 2 wingers - Ainsworth and Johnson.

As with any team, you have to have a mix of youth and experience. Hopefully, the ladies team will produce its own talent in time. Certainly the men's side went through a fairly barren spell between Paul Quinn/David Clarkson and Lee Erwin.

My thoughts too. Just not sure how this will go. In his previous spell with us he scored goals and always chasing down and harrying defenders. Is that still his game?

By my reckoning we require a goalie, a centre back, a central midfielder and 3 strikers. That still leaves us a tad short in central defence (we've lost O'Brien, Ramsden, Kerr and Laing). Anything less than 3 strikers plus Moore will be cutting it very fine up front, as we've lost Erwin ,Sutton and MacDonald (?). I'm far from convinced we have the correct right back unless Watt comes on a ton. Given our very poor goals against record last season we have to solidify the central midfield and defence.

You can only beat the team in front of you. Well done to the Ladies side though. A great result and performance. Their team is doing us proud.

I asked this very question when renewing my season ticket a few days ago. The Play off situation delayed the renewal process including arranging the Early Bird offer and sending out letters. I renewed before my letter was sent out. You also need to take into account that staff are on holiday and in any event there aren't a lot of staff in the ticket office. I asked that my letter be removed from the "out box"to save incurring postage - seems a logical thing to do. However we should bear in mind that there are over 3,000 letters being sent out and if ticket staff were to trawl through that lot to find a letter, little else would get done. The amount of money actually saved is more than offset by the amount of additional time involved. If queuing punters were delayed because staff were trawling through boxes of letters they would not be best pleased. Its quite normal to receive your ticket weeks after actually renewing and I've no problem with that so long as it arrives before the start of the season. When I renewed staff couldn't have been more helpful.
