Presumably that will decrease any compensation due from us?
-
Robert Wagner was option d). One for Phil.
-
Yes, lets put things in perspective. Most fans last night, ourelves included, applauded the players when they came over at full time. Compare where we are now with where we were in February.

Thats way over my head Busta. Is it a) Wagner Fiuza-Carrilho b) Richard Wagner or c) something connected to Yevgeny Prigozhin?

A bit disappointing last. The early injury to and withdrawl of Butrhcer didn't help in fairness. We got off to a great start with KVV notching his 10th on the trot and played some decent stuff. After that it was mostly downhill. Livingston took a grip of midfield when they wanted to and playd the long ball to suit the dreadful surface at other times. After George's sending red card, we hardly laid a glove on them and Hamilton hadn't a save to make. Total lack of penetration. Second half we did nothing until after they equalised and by that time it was too late. The introduction of some fresh subs certainly helped. Livingston certainly seemed the hungrier side and were more up for it. Credit to them the worked their socks off for 90 minutes and closed us down quickly. Why did our midfield not compete? Instructions or simply second best on the night? Who knows. Over the piece, we just about deserved a draw. Anyway, we remained in 7th spot and its ours to lose.

Ah, the Arfield rumour has surfaced agaIn. You'd imagine that Dundee will have bucket loads of cash to splurge on anybody and everyone.
-
Did he not also blow for half time as one of our shots was heading goalwards?
-
Noticed that at the time. The ref ran back to the penalty box before announcing his decision. He was followed by a group of players but refused to tell them. Time wasted needlessly.
-
Largely agree. Regarding the time added on - don't forget the many substitutions and bad injuries to Furlong and Casey.
-
I suspect injuries will play a big part in team selection with Paton, Casey and Furlong all picking up seemingly significant "knocks" yesterday in the Easter Ross agricultural show. Still, we have cover in defence and midfield. Not sure if Slattery will be eligible though.

Thats it Allan. Of the two I prefer Obika but thats on limited evidence. They both lack pace but are physical, hold the ball up well and create space for an out and out goalscorer like KVV or Moult. .

Thats my take. A poor game due in no small part to weak and inconsistent officials. County were fired up, as expected, and took a very robust, but negative, approach to the game and were fortunate not to pick up a good few yellow cards. County had plenty of pressure but didn't trouble Kelly. Our midfield seemed to be a bit off it today and lost too many 50/50 challenges. We were dangerous on the break but things just didn't run for us. KVV and Spittal were unlucky to be booked. Not sure about their penalty claim and will have to watch it on TV. I thought we too had a reasonable penalty shout in the first half - Spittal (?) dragged to the deck, but the ref wasn't interested. One thing I would say though is that players should not be allowed to surround and harass the ref at the VAR screen. Our penalty was a penalty as Baldwin moves his arm to palm the ball away. Despite the drawbacks of VAR, it did demonstrate that the ref got both of the penalty claims wrong. A flat end of season game for us but we won, held onto 7th place, and KVV scored. Some concerning injuries though. Furlong looked to have taken a bad one and Casey looked to have damaged his arm or shoulder. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I didn't enjoy the game until the final whistle. Too tense. I had cause to go down to the concourse under the stand during extra time and it was crammed full of Well fans who couldn't bear to watch the game.

Matty Connelly has just signed a new deal. Details scant as yet.
-
It did. It brought about the delayed, but inevitable, demise of Graham Alexander. The Board then made a blunder by appointing Stevie Hammell and Brian Kerr. They redeemed themselves a bit by firing Stevie, albeit almost too late, and appointing Ketts. A dramatic and strange season of extremes.
-
I thought he was out of contract at the end of this season. Is he carrying a serious injury?
-
Well done to her.
-
I wouldn't quite say "certainties for relegation", but we weren't far off being them at the end of Stevie Hammell's reign. I certainly would not have fancied us in the dogfight we're seeing right now. Had that run continued I'd have rated us as being certainties for the bottom two.

An important 3 points in Perth yesterday. We're now mathematically safe and it was satisfying to pick up a win there after years of poor results. Over the piece we deserved the win, although credit to St Johnstone for working hard and partly nullifying us. We had dominance in terms of possession but we played what little football was on display and created the chances. They enjoyed the majority of possession but were toothless up front. Kelly had almost nothing to do. We looked sluggish and jaded in the first 45 and sat off St Johnstone whilst they buzzed about the park and got wired in. Probably quite rightly, SK decided this was a day for the long ball. Total supposition on my part, but it seemed to me that SK judged before hand that we weren't able to compete with Saints in the engine room in the usual midfield grind in Perth. We certainly lacked energy, aggression, drive and composure in midfield. Whilst Saints worked damned hard, they failed to dent our defence, which was excellently marshalled by Butcher and Casey in the middle. The second half, although not great, was definitely better and we created a few chances and could have scored a couple more. The long ball again worked well for us. Saints again huffed and puffed but ultimately did nothing. My only concern was that we semed vulnerable on the flanks where were frequently caught 2 on 1. But who am I to criticise when SK produced the goods? Unfortunate that Johnston missed out, as we missed his attacking runs. SOD did ok defensively but I get the impression he's finished at this level. I thought the referee was very poor and inconsistent. Saints, as usual were streetwise and conned him a good few times. Fortunately his red card stayed in his pocket - you always have the fear about officials like him. He pulled us up twice in the first 10 minutes for stealing maybe 3/4 metres at free kicks but let worse offenders off for the remaining 80 odd. Some interesting VAR decisions. KVV did the business again today at the second time of asking but overall looked a bit off peak fitness, as confirmed by SK. A soft penalty, but Saints have benefitted more than most against us from them in the past. It seems the Saints keeper was penalised, rightly, for being about 20/30 cms off his line when the kick was taken. Overall a good day at the office.

Anyone know what happened to Max Johnston? Apparently he travelled in the team bus.
-
Shocking pitch. Apart from lumps and bumps it has several slopes that need levelled.

I suspect the SPFL will try to railroad this proposl through, despite only being a voice for the membership. I'm totally against this and have contacted the Society. Its a trojan horse to allow the gruesome twosome entry to the senior leagues, and eventually the Championship. There will of course be "sweeteners" to get the lower league clubs onside.

That's an interesting way of saying "Come and get me."
-
Are you saying there's a wider issue of concern here? Anyone should feel free to post.
-
WOW, where did that come from? You do know that the vast majority of posters on here, including me, will know nothing about this. Sad and unacceptable, if true.
