  1. The thing is, the term General Manager can mean a lot of things, can't it? For example, Jock brown was Celtic's General Manager for a while, and he was responsible for bringing in the manager, making decisions based on players and suchlike. Maybe the club shouldn't have given him such a title, as it only leads to fans expecting that he'll be carrying out the duties of an actual general Manager, and not simply having his media duties extended to running the offices and grounds staff. So, we've not really replaced Dempster then?
  2. Which kind of begs the question as to why he was even considered for the position, let alone successful in getting it? I don't mean this as a slight on the guy, as he's no doubt doing the best he can and he can't really be held responsible for taking a better job that was offered to him, but is he actually qualified? Also, is he still the guy who interviews the manager after games? And if so, why? I don't think I've ever seen a football club where the GM interviews the players and manager for the clubs online TV station. Is he still running the media team as well?
  3. He's also relatively young at 23 years old, which is another positive. If the manager rates him then I'm going to back him. Barraclough has to build his transfer reputation with the club, and until he shows otherwise I'll assume he knows what he's doing.
  4. What's wrong with pink or yellow?
  5. Both surfaces have their pros and cons I guess, but I just think that playing on the kind of surfaces we see in Scotland through the wet season (ie; the entire season) has to be just as dangerous and it also affects the quality of football.
  6. They increase the chance of injury more than playing on what has been a bit of a shitehole every winter? I'm no expert, but I'd assume that playing on a grassy surface that breaks up and is logged with water would be just as dangerous.
  7. What about the likes of Dougie Arnott? Tommy McLean etc?
  8. This season is basically a case of survival, and anything above that is a bonus. We can't really judge the manager until he's had time to bring in some players of his own, and removed some players he doesn't want. Those being critical of him at this point are mental in my opinion.
  9. He's made, what? Five starts this season? 21 years old? Maybe we should give him a bit of time before giving him pelters, no? Especially if you were actually born in Africa but just happened to be white.
  10. I know it's mainly a current events podcast, but is there no way you could maybe try and get some of the old 'Well legends on for an interview or the like? I'm sure some of us old-timers would like that!
  11. Maybe if he'd abstained from clubbing/drinking and watched his dietary intake on the night before matches back then he'd have been in the team
  12. I'd go with that as well, yeah. Erwin needs a good run of games I reckon.
  13. Just an unqualified opinion I've got from doing some reading on him and listening to him. I like his ideas, the way he wants to go about things. He seems like a good fit for the route we'll have to go down if we're to sort out the club and start moving in the right direction. I could be wrong, of course.
  14. I'd still stick with him even if we do get relegated.
  15. Ah, well he'll be given until the middle of the summer transfer window at best then most likely. I wouldn't be surprised if we see calls for his head on this forum before this season is over.
  16. Hopefully. If not, it'll be back to the drawing board, won't it?
  17. I have no doubt that the players are being told some home truths behind closed doors. There's no point in the manager giving them pelters in the press, is there? Indeed. A football support that lets off the odd smoke bomb or gets a bit boisterous now & then. We'll be the talk of Europe before long with these cringeworthy antics.
  18. Surely playing on the left for Motherwell is better than where he was playing for Legia?
  19. From what I've seen (which isn't much, granted) Erwin looks as though he has the makings of a decent player. He just needs time to find his feet.
  20. Almost an hour gone and Dan's not had a save to make yet by the looks of it.
  21. Nice to see Sutton get another goal, even if it was a penalty. A wee win here would see us go into 2015 in a more positive frame of mind.
  22. Here's hoping Sutton can kick on and go on a run of scoring now.
  23. I'd assumed that, much like everyone else's posts on this forum, what I said would be taken as my own opinion. I believe Black to be a somewhat limited coach for various reasons, some of which you've mentioned there. Is that okay? Am I allowed to have that opinion without actually being fucking coached by him?
  24. I don't think it's any real secret that Black is a hardworking, albeit rather limited football coach. He's doing his best though, of that there's no doubt. I won't be too upset to see him join McCall at Rangers or down south though. I'd rather Baraclough was given the freedom to bring in his own man.
