  1. Yeah, but Douglas is 41 years old. He shouldn't even be in the equation.
  2. As far as the home shirt goes, I don't think it'll be possible for the club to top the anniversary shirt that came out a while back. That top is cracking. Top notch design and material, and a timeless look with no sponsor splashed across the front of it. I doubt I'll be buying another replica shirt again as long as I have this one; It's basically perfect.
  3. I've never seen the guy play, but those stats reek of the kind of player we usually end up going for.
  4. Yeah, that has absolutely nothing to do with the point I was making, but well observed.
  5. Especially when you think that Celtic stand to lose a few players as well, such as Hooper and maybe Wanyama.
  6. As the thread title says, if you were given the blank cheque to re-sign one of the above players for another year, who would you choose? This isn't to say that the others would definitely leave of course, but rather is to see which player the fans (on this forum anyway) would most like to see stay. My vote goes to big Higdon. I feel that a player who's slotted so well into our side and who can provide the goals he can is pretty priceless. Strikers who do what he did this season aren't easy to come by.
  7. Aye, but that means nothing if Celtic aren't wanting him. McFadden can claim to be interested all he likes, it's Lennon who needs to be interested in him.
  8. I know that some Celtic fans will claim their side isn't fussed now that the league is in the bag, and indeed comments of that ilk have appeared on my Facebook already, but that Motherwell performance was one of our best this season in my opinion. Every player did their job, and put in 100% which is all you can ask. Even if we'd come away from this game with only a point I'd still have been proud of that team today. For a club with our fanbase and financial clout to finish 2nd in the SPL this season ahead of other clubs with more resources at their disposal is absolutely amazing. European football next season again, so we have that to look forward to. We'll lose players this summer, but we'll also have the excitement of seeing who McCall brings in. Personally, I can't wait.
  9. Well taken spot kick, and a nice little celebration as well. Understated and classy.
  10. That's a superb finish right there. Brilliant!
  11. Yeah, replacing the MFC lettering with the club crest, and sticking the sponsor on the claret band would have been ideal with the new shorts & socks. I'm not convinced, but I guess I'll end up buying it anyway.
  12. Considering the game is televised this evening you would like to think that United would be looking to get as many fans as possible, and as good an atmosphere as possible in their stadium. Complete backward thinking at its very best.
  13. Yeah, he's most likely the wrong side of 30 to consider a move to MLS.
  14. It's nice seeing footballers actually being paid somewhat of a "real" salary, rather than the inflated wages they get in Europe.
  15. You would have to think he'd be able to make at least what Rangers offer him if he moves down south though, eh?

    Celtic

Henrik for me. He was a constant thorn in the sides of their defence. Especially Wanyama.
  17. A win is surely a must here? Everyone's been beating Hearts!

I saw you mention this previously. Which hotel? And what actually happened?
  19. We've been much improved in the 2nd half, and Celtic didn't deserve their goal. Deservedly winning the game, and worthy of all three points in my opinion.
  20. The thing is, we're 1-0 up and I don't even think we've played that well. McFadden looks a class above pretty much everyone on the pitch, doesn't he? If this is him when he isn't fit it'll be interesting to see what he's like in a month or so!
  21. I'm not entirely sure, but I think he had voiced his displeasure over the lack of international conferencing facilities offered for these meetings when the club actively were trying to convince non-local fans to join the Society in the first place. He had no means of hearing or seeing what was said at the meeting and had to rely on others telling him.
  22. And the deal would conveniently come to an end just in time for Rangers winning promotion to the SPL (unless they slip up along the way of course), at which point they'll have to rejig the numbers and ensure that the gap in financial reward between the top two isn't as much.
  23. So, under these new proposals Celtic will be giving up £315,000 less per season, whilst the best of the rest will lose out on more than double that?
  24. How did he get on at Partick? Does he still look like the promising lad who left us?
