  1. http://video.stv.tv/bc/sport-football-craig-brown-20100204/ just after three mins he specifically mentions 18 months .
  2. Former Motherwell skipper Chris McCart has emerged as a shock contender for the Fir Park managerial vacancy caused by Craig Brown’s departure to Aberdeen. McCart is currently head of youth at Celtic, but is understood to have growing support within the Fir Park board room. He skippered the Steelmen to Scottish Cup glory and in his role as youth chief with the Lanarkshire club was responsible for moulding current first-team stars Jamie Murphy, Mark Reynolds and Steven Saunders. It is believed that McCart’s name will be added to the shortlist due to be drawn up by chairman John Boyle over the next few days. However, the 43 year-old will face stiff competition for the Well managerial vacancy with ex-St Mirren gaffer Gus MacPherson, former Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood and one-time Chelsea No.2 Stevie Clarke all linked with the position. And it is understood that ex-Hibs manager John Collins, in tandem with Tommy Craig, is also in the frame..................................from Glasgow Evening Times
  3. itl be under floodlights, the boys might be wearing the striped kit and hopefully we will rip the beleagured selling club that is murderwell a new one.......this line caught my eye from the link above ,only be my second league game this season lookin forward to it ,2-2 i think.
  4. Did Gannon no try to claim compensation ,if so how did he get on ?
  5. At this stage the most popular choices are Collins and Calderwood ,a good number want no one on the list and that's how I feel .When it comes to former or current players lack of experience is the problem, we need someone with a decent track record a bit of experience and some good contacts in the game .Calderwood fits the bill in all three but the idea of him or Collins even big Yogi as gaffer does nothing for me. Just put my trust in John Boyle .
  6. Just for the record Hammerfist IS a Motherwell fan ,met him a few times and couldn't say a bad word against the guy.

  8. Great post Wishaeboy1 whoever you are.
  9. hey is that matt j [fatcalf] fishin ,could be a book in the pipeline.
  10. 10/10 for sticking up for Craig mate ,personally glad hes away but then I'm hard to please, at home watching Motherwell under Broon was like watching paint dry. Hope we get someone in who puts a bit of excitement back into watching the well. There is a fine line between ambition and recklessness e.g Dundee and a club like Motherwell who don't have the financial muscle other clubs have must live within there means. Thats not a lack of ambition its just common sense.
  11. Craig and Archie paedophiles. Craig and Archie paedophiles.i.m.o This is what Boyle to his credit wants to avoid, hence asking for Aberdeen to wait till after next weeks game before the Judas bros take over at Pittodrie. Ain't gonna happen though Broon will be in charge, well fans will be seething, have a few beers before the game you know the rest.
  12. Agree stupid idea ,and im sure most Well fans want us to go up and play them with Broon and Knox in charge. And stuff them.

  17. Be someone out of contract as we wont want to pay compensation , and I would bet on them gettin a contract till the end of the season.
  18. I remember Broon in an interview being asked about working at Motherwell with no contract, his answer was that Walter Smith was working at Rangers without a contract because he was a Rangers man, and that he[broon] didn't need one because he was a MOTHERWELL MAN , or words to that effect.
  19. Both Broon and Knox are gone its now official and although most seem dissapointed I for one am absolutely delighted.

  23. Hold I say hold that result boy. CRAIG BROWN has revealed his special bond with his Motherwell players saw him reject Aberdeen. But SunSport can reveal the Dons were last night still trying to lure the ex-Scotland boss to Pittodrie. Yet it's unlikely the 70-year-old will have a change of heart after committing his future to Well. Brown said: "We had a gut feeling staying at Motherwell was the right thing to do. The other hugely influential thing was the attitude of the players. The response we've had since taking over has been exceptional. "These players are so diligent and conscientious. "The staff are also outstanding, we have the best backroom staff in the league. "Motherwell is the club where it all began for me really, so the place is very close to my heart. "It would very difficult to match that and very difficult to leave." Brown and Knox met a Dons delegation that included chairman Stewart Milne and director of football Willie Miller on Tuesday. They headed back north disappointed after failing to sell the pair on a move to Pittodrie. Yet Brown added: "Aberdeen have asked us to reconsider, but we have made a commitment to Motherwell. "I wouldn't like to be the next guy to come along and think he was second choice. "They indicated if we wanted the job we'd be considered." Brown and Knox have been working without contracts. But in light of their talks with Aberdeen, it's understood Well chairman John Boyle is now keen to tie the duo down. Brown said: "It might be that they are looking to put us on a contract now. "We didn't believe other teams would come for us. But Aberdeen are not the first to come for us." Meanwhile Miller has told the Dons players to CANCEL their Christmas night out in Newcastle. They were due to head south after the game against Hearts on Saturday. But one player said: "Willie told us because of the club's position we had to be seen to be being totally professional in our approach towards turning things around. "We had to agree that this was the right decision."
  24. And wouldn't it be a right hoot chaps if Mr McGhee and Mr Leitch were the new M.F.C dream team ....eh eh . That is if nice Mr Brown and Mr Knox leave of course.
  25. http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/Article.a...2045135?UserKey= Broonie no quite decided yet? might still be offski Brown said: "Aberdeen chairman Stewart Milne phoned me back on Wednesday and asked if we would be prepared to reconsider our refusal to be a candidate for the job. "Quite frankly, although we originally said no, after the very pleasant appeal from the Aberdeen chairman to reconsider our position, we will have another agonising sit-down and talk out of respect for a man who we both respect. "As well as the chairman, Duncan Fraser and Willie Miller, we also know people such as directors Hugh Little and Gordon Buchan and like them very much so it was hard to say no to them. "With the chairman coming back to us everything is now up in the air, everyone is entitled to change their mind, so there could be a change of heart." Earlier in the day, Aberdeen's chances of securing their leading candidate appeared doomed.
