  1. Stand outs for me were Thomas, Cadden, Campbell and McLean. Very mature performances and all strong on the ball and running. Impressed with Ferguson as well at centre half. Hall apart from his slip was absolutely fine too. Leitch showed well when he come on and a lovely finish from the young striker for the 5th.
  2. Yep wiki says on or after 01/01/1996 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/201516_Scottish_Youth_Cup
  3. I was pleased Cadden signed but a bit disappointed it was a 2 year
  4. Fingers crossed for a 3 year deal for any of our selling on prospects. It's the only real way to leverage any decent cash.
  5. Hall close to deal - http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/14452144.Motherwell_close_in_on_Ben_Hall_deal_as_final_showpiece_looms/?
  6. http://m.brechinadvertiser.co.uk/sport/scottish-sport/stephen-craigan-hopes-motherwell-youngsters-press-first-team-claims-in-final-1-4110167 Cadden, Hall and Thomas all set to play on Wednesday. Fair enough when Thomas still plays every week for the 20s and Cadden/Hall playd earlier this season before breaking through. Seems Herts will have a strong lineup with some 1st team experience too. Although Soutter hasn't been allowed to play by Neilson.
  7. Haha. Aye? Brilliant. What was said.
  8. Looking forward to this, and a cup final which is always nice! Motherwell FC ‏@MotherwellFC 5h5 hours ago Stephen Craigan and @BenHall42 are at Hampden for the Youth Cup Final Press Conference #COYW https://twitter.com/MotherwellFC/status/724608198540443648
  9. I would play Hall ahead of Laing and Kennedy personally. But I don't think there is a huge amount in it.
  10. Does anyone have any concrete info on him knocking back deals.....or is it just heresay?
  11. Yeah I agree with this 100%. Which is why I think if this is all true and he isnt signing a deal his agent could be spinning thr story that he won't get regular games here anyway so go somewhere else for more money and the same amount of games...let's be honest he might not get the games with Kennedy and Laing both under contract as well. I do think he deserves he starting spot but McGhee playing Kennedy in there since he has came back might put the doubt in his mind.
  12. I can see how it may be played out by his agent... -McGhee won't guarantee him a starting spot ahead of Kennedy or Laing. Says he has to prove himself. -Agent says I can get you a move to a club where you might also sit on the bench but will get paid more money. ...Hall has only been with us 2 or 3 years. So although he has came from youth it is not like he has been here since he was 10 or something. I would like him to stay as he seems a decent player. Hopefully we can do the deal.
  13. Not quite the same thing I dont think think. He moved from a semi pro team to us at the age of 15/16.
  14. I've heard it spoken about on here as well. Just wondering if the info is hearsay or actually based on fact.
  15. How do you know that? Inside source?
  16. Bit of both, what happened was... Law picked up the injury and was hobbling about. Robinson got the shout down from McGhee to get him off and get Hall ready. Then Law shouted to Robinson he was fine and give it to half time. Robinson turned round and McGhee said fine. Then a few mins later Law got a bit worse and McGhee shouted down to make the sub.
  17. I am hoping that with top 6 secured we can get him signed up sharpish.
  18. EDIT: Not sure why I read this as about the Hearts game at the weekend and replied with that in mind.. Deleted.
  19. Samson wasn't too troubled today but he did what he needed to when called upon and pulled off 1 cracking save.
  20. Cheers - figured out the match. 23rd Jan 1988, we won 2 - 1
  21. Aberdeen at Fir Park either 87/88 or 88/89 was my first game. Will speak to my dad tonight to confirm but if you had one of them that would be magic.
  22. Aye that's right. Les talked about a new sponsor that was more in line with the club/community ethos I think didn't he?
  23. Ithe would be nice and I don't think we should be glad we miss out on Europe (if we finish 4th!). But there are positives to take out of it now around more pre season prep etcm
  24. A euro trip would have been a nice bonus but not to be. The positive for me is we get a proper pre season with McGhee rather than one condensed because of the early euro qualifying. I still think we push for 4th and finish as high up as possible.
