I went for Ripley which is a bit odd given his howler but could have been 5 or 6 if not for some of his saves. Thought Cadden, Johnstone, Skippy, McManus all showed well. In my opinion Law, Kennedy and Gomis did not. All 3 looked nervous, pondered and made bad mistakes throughout.

If I was to hedge my bets I think we will: David Clarkson (One year option) - Release David Ferguson - Renew Wes Fletcher - Release Stevie Hammell - Renew Keith Lasley - Renew Jack Leitch - Renew Scott McDonald (One year option) - Renew James McFadden - Release Stephen McManus - Renew Craig Moore - Release Craig Samson - Renew I could see a striker coming in and possibly a goalie. But other than that I don't think we will bring in unless we lose someone to an actual transfer.

I do partly agree. However, I think he is a smashing midfielder. Fit as a fiddle as well.

I think Ryan Dow, John Rankin, Ziggy Gordon, Michael McGovern, Abdul Osman, Alex Schalk and Mbuyi-Mutombo would all be good signings for one reason or another. Charlie Mulgrew could do a job as well. Not saying we would get any of them but they would be my picks.

According to reports Dundee man marked him pretty much out the game last night. I would be surprised if we don't do the same.

It was only a few years ago we reorganised into the Academy system and have, since Les came in, started to provide more focus on recruitment and that pathway to the first team. I would give it a few years yet before saying we need to change it. Quality youth production is a slow burn and also needs a bit of luck along the way.

Ajax was the original blueprint but things have moved on since then. Loads of different ways to do out there and it should be a blended austen that is right for us and club of our size and position.
