  1. In effect the DD is set up forever in that there is no end date. However you can cancel whenever you fancy.
  2. Aye, I was the same. Think I really only saw it on here and I am on Twitter etc, and keep quite a good eye on Well news via different feeds. May have missed it though. I was watching the Scotland game anyway so wouldn't have made it if I had had loads of notice.
  3. I think McDonald will be here. We have a year option, is settled in the area from what I here, and has his extra media stuff also
  4. Needs to be a bit of both - agree on that.
  5. Was reading tonight he had only really played futsal before signing for Dunfermline!
  6. I think you could get by without a pricey CRM tool. But regardless, my general point is if people believe they have a skill or suggestion then be pro active and go to the society. Don't just wait for them to come a knocking. A lot of different people in charge now than previously so may be, and I think are, with the new arrangementenants coming up, a bit more open to it.
  7. Yeah I would agree Johnstone. For me he is one of those players in the middle. Probably better than a squad player, as such, but not quite good enough to be a long term first choice every week. Solid enough right back but not good enough to be first choice etc. If he could cut out the same positioning mistakes, or at least begin to I would probably change my mind on that.
  8. That would be lovely job to manage that spreadsheet/database. You should suggest it and volunteer?
  9. It's also says he was a midfielder moved to right back and then back to midfield again. McCall played him in midfield to start with too. Anyway, regardless, he isnt a good enough standard to be a first choice spfl premiership right back for me long term moving forward (even though he has played 50/60 games for us). Decent squad and cover player though.
  10. Surely if you offer to help out they would take it? I bet the point of they should maybe be reaching out more perhaps but it should stop the offers going the other way.
  11. Yeah you might be right. My reply wasn't directly to yours although it came directly after it. Just my general thoughts on the subject.
  12. Ainsworth is a big time confidence player and an emotional one at that as well. Essentially having went from a first pick to not starting since McGhee came in. McGhee has said he is one of the most talented players in the squad so I don't think he is frozen out or about to get punted. He just needs to prove to McGhee he can improve the defensive side of his game. Whether Lionel decides to stick around and do that or start to look elsewhere I think will be more up to him than anyone else. Ainsworth going forward can be unbelievable and I would be challenging McGhee to get him into the team more than anything. To be fair he may be doing that in training and Lionel isn't responding. As for Law, decent squad level player who has served us well. But he hasn't got any better at eradicating the positioning mistakes which teams take advantage of. I think we will see Laing in there as first choice on an ongoing basis when fit.
  13. What will be interesting is how we manage that cash neutral approach going forward if we are successful in selling players. For example, 5 years down the line with all debts paid off say......we still budget worst case scenario and don't pay more wages than what we 100% know will come in. We sell a player for 500k or get a cup run to a final....how is that extra money reinvested if we don't alter the worst case scenario approach the following season? Do we spread it out over a few 2 year contracts specifically. Technically spending more than worst case but only because we have it in the bank? I wouldn't think we would just save every profit made for a rainy day forever.
  14. For those who don't get the emails/aren't members but are interested. Email from today below. 3...2...1...debate! The Well Society As you are aware there has been a lot of media comment and speculation since the announcement of the potential transfer of the club into fan ownership. During the next few weeks it is vital that all our members and fans know how we are approaching this chance to own the club. We will do this as openly as possible to get the maximum involvement with everyone who supports the club. With this in mind, we wanted to share with you the three main principles which will guide our negotiations with Les. They are as follows: We are excited by the opportunity to become the first SPFL club to become fan owned and want to make this a reality We need to ensure that the future is protected if we become the main shareholder We need to ensure that the future of the club is sustainable in the short to medium term i.e the next three years In reality this means we have a duty to do the following: Manage cash flow, we need to be what's termed cash neutral based on a 'worst case' scenario effectively budgeting on the provision that we finish tenth in the league, with no cup run or player sales. We need to build an affordable schedule of repayment for monies that are owed by the club. We cannot take ownership unless we can meet those challenges. Jim McMahon has agreed to be our Chairman and help during this period. Those of you who know Jim, will be aware of not only his love for the club, but also of his business reputation, he will not allow a deal which does not fulfil the criteria noted above. Over the next few weeks Jim, and The Well Society with much hard work and diligence will be engaged in bringing the negotiations to conclusion. We will of course update you through this process, and once again we thank you for your ongoing support and patience. 15. Ah right. Not aware of that Been very cordial the couple of times I have met him.
  16. I would be surprised if Samson isn't our first choice next year.
  17. Bet the boy was expecting a couple of sales. Not a debate.
  18. It's rare to see any stand full...not seen a full stand for a long while.
  19. The great thing is they are both contracted until 2018 so we don't need to sell them this summer and if we do they will command a much higher fee than if they had a year left. The beauty of 3 year contracts....
  20. Anytime I have emailed Gavin at the WS he has got back to me fairly quickly I would have to say.
  21. Very good point actually.
  22. 10k certainly is a bit of a stretch when we can't get 2000 to spend a fiver a month.
