UEFA country ranking (country coefficient) is used to determine how many places a country gets aye. They work it using the results of the country's teams in Champions league and Europa League over past 5 years. Hence why I always want any Scottish team to do well...however hard that may be! Club coefficient is only used to figure who is seeded in the actual competitions.

Just to get ahead of myself here.......if we finish 4th and Celtic win the cup we will start out season in the Europa League Qualifying Rd. 1 on 30th June. Return leg a week later. Yes. Right in the middle of the European Championships.

It's a fair point actually. If we do make the top 6, and I think we will now, then the teams in 4/5/6 will be so tight that there is no reason we can't finish 4th.

Assuming we lose to Celtic and the above happens then it would finish Celtic Aberdeen Hearts Dundee 46 St J 46 Patrick 44 Well 44 EDIT: If the results go the way of sinjy's post and we lose to Celtic all 4 teams would be on 44 points and it would be down to goal difference. I think we are safe as pretty sure Celtic will beat Dundee midweek.

I always wonder what % of our regular fans, and therefore folk who would be in to these types of things, are based in Motherwell and/or easy walking/train/bus distance. For me, had a season ticket since I was 8 and now 33 and never lived within 15 miles of Fir Park until moving to Uddingston 2 years ago. So these things were always something I didn't consider.
