  1. Clarkson back to work in the academy http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2018/01/17/david-clarkson-joins-well-academy/
  2. He loves being the center of attention, so no doubt hell do something dumb to make sure hes the one being talked about after the game. Is it possible to send someone off for diving and give a penalty at the same time? Rangers had a bid rejected for Docherty, and Im guessing accies werent up for the choice between loan with option to buy or monopoly money up front. Is the game in doubt due to weather?
  3. Weve done well out of the last defender blackpool didnt want, so worth a go
  4. Hartley is on loan until the end of the season, so dont see what the rush is.
  5. To be fair, I think he said that if a player is currently playing/scoring goals regularly then we probably cant afford him. But that doesnt necessarily mean he cant score regularly for us. Teams pay money for guaranteed goalscorers, we have to try and be clever and find players whos stock has dropped recently and figure out how we can turn them around.
  6. Is it not the head of recruitment that identifies targets along with the manager?
  7. If he sees this as a chance to put himself in the shop window for a permanent move somewhere to kick start his career, and applies himself as such, then he could be a great signing. However, he hasnt done that in his last few loan stints and is a head case, so that might not happen.
  8. Were signing Austin powers too? Awesome, I love this game.
  9. Id wager they copied it from here. The Dundee Utd version would be great, but Im not sure if he exists anymore.
  10. Thats that conspiracy theory dead then, now were just left with bigis mysterious disease.
  11. Our squad is relatively small, and as said above three signings will only see the squad size increase by one from a week ago. Moult and Hammell were probably relatively well paid, so their wages combined maybe lets us get in more than two players. I dont see us getting through January without a bid coming in for someone through. Were also not getting through the season without more injuries.
  12. Do the boys have coachng qualifications? Is familiarity with the club and the respect from everyone who works there not a plus when hiring someone? Are promotions not a thing in other lines of work?
  13. Looking at past stats isnt always helpful when were signing guys from other leagues/levels, especially younger players. Mains record is very similar to Ojamaas before he joined us (there is only one goal between the two over their whole careers to date) but we know how good a player Henrik was for us. On the flip side, you have bowman who scored a fair few before joining us and hasnt been prolific. We also have fisher who looked great against us (as did Kemas and Tarrant in years gone by) but hasnt been good for us. Is fisher the last known player that weve signed? These are the kind of signings we make now, and we just need to hope the Moults and Kipres outweigh the Fletchers and Blyths The manager sees something in this guy, and were going to have to see him in a game or two before passing judgement.
  14. Either Curtis Main has broken the club website, or Trump doesnt want America to know about the dossers latest signing.
  15. Heres a YouTube of him scoring goals (hartleys is better)
  16. Maybe were going to go down the baraclough route and sign a bunch of them. He is statistically a better manager, so we should probably follow his methods.
  17. I guess my autocorrect didnt like the special characters, Ill leave it in, at 63 he might just be streetwise enough for our league.
  18. Deivydas Matulevičius (Ma-Choo-Le-Vee-Chis) Hes 63 so would go with my prediction that wed sign someone big.
  19. Mains agent did a good job of his Wikipedia page According to Mowbray, Main "came here on trial and trained with the youth team and you could see the power and speed he's got. His finishing with both feet is breathtaking at times. Whether the ball drops to his right foot or left foot, he doesn't hesitate. ... Physicality isn't going to be an issue for Curtis throughout his career. He's a boy who spends a lot of time looking after his physique and he's very, very strong."
  20. In January were limited to players who have been let go for nothing, or those we can get for a very small fee. Then we also have to persuade them to come here. Our options in January are a reclamation project type, where the player has dropped the divisions or is out of favour, but has something there that we think we can bring out. Or a lower league or younger player with potential that we can get for a small fee. In the summer we have a far better chance of getting someone more established as more players will be out of contract. Regardless off the above, it is going to be rare that we bring in anyone whos the finished article, or even close, and theres always going to be the risk of a Blyth or a fletcher. Hartley seems to be the closest to a finished article that we have managed to bring in in a while, and for that one I think weve capitalized on a weird situation with blackpool.
  21. Flow tweeted about trying to get something over the line today, so whether that happens or not, it looks like we wont be hanging about.
  22. Always thought we were quick to bin bara.
  23. Lasley is a stick-on to be our next manager, whenever that time comes.
  24. Do we have he kind of money to buy players from these teams? Id like the approach if we did start bringing in players from Scottish teams, but unless they are guys not getting games, or maybe out of contract players signing pre-contracts, Im not sure how were going to pull that off.
