Tait has scored 2 and set up a few, and despite his defensive misgivings (and that he is clearly under instructions to be more attacking) we have won more than we've lost. He also had a load of assists last year, so I'd say he has proved himself as a starter, whereas Plummer hasn't done anything. Frear also hasn't done anything to suggest he can play on the right, and since his game is about getting to the byline and getting crosses in, he'd be better on the left. I'm pretty sure that by the end of the season frear and tait are going to be way up there in assists. I think there has been talk of bigi nursing an injury, but I had expected him to be the one we'd be raving about by now, but he hasnt met those expectations yet. I still expect him to be pretty influential as the season goes on though. I still think fisher will come good, but bowman's improvement has been welcome when fisher and tanner haven't lived up to expectations (yet). Kipre has been really good, and dunne has been interesting, but a lot is going to depend on who we replace Ben with. If we were looking for a defender anyway, and now the possibility of losing him, we really need someone with a bit of experience to replace him and a right sided center back/wing back hybrid to push tait. So we'll sign two strikers tomorrow

I like Fisher, but he very well could be the last outfield player to score his first this season.

Has any other player caught on with the fans as quickly as Kipre has? If we are guaranteed a Kipre for every Blyth, do we keep singing young guys released by Leicester?

A bit disappointed for Campbell, but the manager has been full of praise for rose, so he's obviously doing what is asked of him, whatever that is. I like the front pairing, hopefully it's a straight 2 up top. -

Motherwell: Carson, Tait, Heneghan, Cadden, McHugh, Moult, Frear, Bowman, Rose, Dunne, Kipré Motherwell subs: Griffiths, Bigirimana, Plummer, Fisher, Campbell, MacLean, Tanner -
Hateley did great for us. We're always going to find a problem with someone in our team, even when it's the most successful team many of us have seen. Tait is doing what is asked of him, I.e the manager has emphasized attack as a priority for the full/wing backs. In that respect he's doing great considering the number of assists he has made, and 2 goals so far this season.

Tait is injured? -
We signed clay and Blyth on 2 year deals. I'd rather we mess up by signing a good player just for a year rather than a shite player for two.
-
Players are only going to stick around at a club like ours for a couple of years regardless of their nationality. As said above, we can't sign Scottish players under the age of 24 (I think) because we would have to pay a development fee even if they are out of contract, and if we wanted to buy said player when under contract we'd have to stump up even more. On the other hand we can sign a guy from elsewhere for nothing and then sell him on if he's good.

4-2 final - Gordon(2), livingstone, scott
-
He's been getting game time with the u20s, so I'd expect him to play tonight.
-
I'm just going to call him Sid, because giving players nicknames before they pull on a shirt always works.
-
Congrats. Stick it all on the arsenal game.
-
Sounds like the subs changed the game, with both bowman and campbell making a real impact when they came on. Tait played on the left 2nd half? Also finished with more players than the opposition, so things looking up. Oh, and hibs
-
Surely that's a 442?
-
Why is this news? We knew he wasn't signing weeks ago.
-
It would be irresponsible not to maximize the return for what we have. As it stands we have two years of Cadden left and a potential development fee of 500k+, selling him for less than that would be plain crazy, especially at this stage in his contract. Injuries and loss of form happen, but if we start panicking at this point then the whole model is bust.

That's just total made up shite. Nice to see they googled the hull manager's former club.
-
Oxford's valuation said to be around 3million, so that would be nice.
-
That's Marvin handed in his transfer request, like he does.
-
The difference for me is that although we're not looking much better than last season, there is some potential there and there seems to be a plan (whether it will work or not is a different question). Last year was desperate and our squad was pieced together.
-
I'd echo that he's been great for us. He was part of one of our better teams, and has no doubt been a huge influence on our younger players. He obviously had his flaws, which is why he ended up with us, but I'm sure most would agree he was a positive part of our squad since he joined. Considering his questionable knees, he was almost ever present until late last season.

As the squad currently stands I think our likely finishing position is bottom six but safe. We have some interesting options in every position, but I don't think we have the defensive options to put a run of good league results together. A lot can happen in the next 2 and a bit weeks, and I think we'll lose at least one for our better players, but here's hoping it isn't Cadden, as I think if we can keep him and add the fabled pacy striker then we have a chance to do a little better than expected. However, I dont think that signing the one defender is going to change much, as nothing I have seen so far suggests there's many clean sheets in our future.
