Changes to the original squad could be made up until midnight last night. From then we are allowed to add one 'wildcard' player to the squad to play in Albania up to 24 hours before the tie starts.

Can we get this thread back on track - has anyone heard any further rumours of possible signings? after the big bang last week things have been quiet.

I'm pleased that moves are being made straight away to strengthen the squad but I am a little concerned by reports that this is a 1 year deal - if he's any good he'll be gone again before we blink. I'd rather give youngsters a chance than plays guys on loan or one year deals.

Listened to Radio Scotland sports update just before 1. Their reporter had spoken to Gannon at press conference. Gannon has said he has 5 or 6 players in mind that he would like to bring in and has been speaking to agents & players. Also noted that JB said he had been impressed by Gannon's knowledge of the English game. Could we hope for some Porter style signings and maybe some decent loanees?

Looks like Setanta have till Friday to sort themselves. The EPL have announced that if they don't get paid by Friday they will flog the 46 live matches Setanta have for next season to someone else. Must be great to have someone waiting to pounce - no chance of such a deal for the SPL!

I heard whisper at the ICT game that Mark was on MMG's wanted list for the summer. Word is that Celtic are willing to let him go and he is keen to kick on his career with the financial backing he now has from his time at Parkhead. To me John Boyle may be the biggest stumbling block to getting him back after past treatment.

Don't think missing out on them would be a great loss. We alreadt have Quinn, McLean (assuming he re-signs) & Saunders to play right back. The left mid guy was not proven and would be a gamble that maybe MMG thought wasn't worth it as the money could be used elsewhere. I would really like to see us try and get the young boy Griffiths as he could be a gamble that could pay off in a few years. With Dundee's new owner having some cash it looks like we will be competing with them for a number of players and surely the lure of the Europa Cup could help swing it.

Given how important Sat's game is likley to be to our season should the club be trying one of their famous (or infamous!) schemes to fill the place as much as possible. It is live on TV but the team need as much vocal support as possible. Man City are doing £5 for adults & £1 for kids for their Uefa game on Thursday - should we be doing that also???

Aording to BBC website Craggs has been confirmed as a non starter for NI tonight. With Klimps suspended for the Dons game I hope Craggs can recover as we will need leadership. If he doesn't recover should it be Quinn RB and McLean CB or other way around?

From those games I would think... Well - 7pts Utd - 7pts Hibs - 5pts Sheep - 5pts That would mean Hibs drop out. But it is so tight. 2 of our 4 games are live TV games and that makes me nervous. Plus I've factored in draws between Utd Hibs and Sheep Hibs so 1 goal either way and it'll be all change.

I thought evryone in a C&A jersey did well yesterday. To me there were no bad performances. Thought Fizzy was much improved and had maybe his best game for a few months. Thought O'Brien was great never gave either fullback a rest and had to be on his toes as never knew what way the ball would come off the pitch. Klimpl must be signed on a long term deal, twice in 2nd half he burst forward in front of the POD stand and pushed 2 or 3 aside easily. Even though Klimps is our hard man I thought it was fantastic when Hughes went head to head with Scott Brown in first half just to say 'we don't care who you are!' Special mention for Sutton also, I think it was asking a lot of him after 2 to 3 weeks on the bench to come in and play a full game often on his own up-front. His fitness was lacking but he never stopped running and never gave up.

We have only lost 1 game in 2009 - ok last night was a sore one but live TV and the 'well just don't go. Our defence has looked much better in recent weeks and we don't look likley to ship a load of goals. We need to play Clarky and Hughes as they are still our best players. You can access Jack Street from Shields Road but only if coming from the Muirhouse end. Word of warning also that the bottom of Shields Rd is also being re-surfaced and not great for your car plenty drains sticking up un-marked.

Just managed to trawl back through this one and I've never laughed so much in a very long time. Anyone who knows him and his family at all will be pi***ng themselves at the thought of him as a boyhood Celtic fan!!!! Nothing could be so far from the truth.

This has been a rumour before - during last summer I think. I spoke to Stephen last week and he is keen to stay in the area for family reasons, he was looking to speak to the club over the next few weeks over a new deal but no-one could fault him for seeing what else is available. But if this came off it would still be a surprise!!!
