  1. Also true, you can never be certain of any signing, but sometimes there are wee clues or lessons to be learned. A guy approaching his mid 30s who is repeatedly out with the same 'niggling' problem - sounds familiar.
  2. True. But do you know what we'd be getting?
  3. 15 games, last start on New Year's Day, 34 in November. There would be an awful lot of questions needing answered if we were interested in Hutchison.
  4. No idea, but the Dutch word for one is een, if that helps.
  5. By 'treated like garbage' at Parkhead, do you mean he wasn't given a long run as a starter, or are you saying something else has been going on?
  6. Aye, maybe we expect too much from these boys. Far too good for us, but not good enough for the very top.
  7. That's a distinct possibility. On paper his time at Celtic was a success, winning 6 medals, but I think most folk expected more from him. Another underwhelming season next year and you would start to wonder.

  9. And to add insult, getting sent out on loan to Millwall and left to rot there, despite hardly getting a game.
  10. Another guy who needs to kick start his career. Just hope it's not back in Scotland at one of the usual suspects.
  11. Yeah, Turnbull's a mystery. I'd have bet money on him being a Scotland regular by now, but it just isn't happening for him. Postecoglou, Rodgers and Clarke obviously had doubts/issues with him and he's settled into the same sub or subbed routine at Cardiff, but without the goals.
  12. Kelly or Gordon must be one of the two getting cut. Johnston didn't make it, and Turnbull's career is going from strength to strength.
  13. If it's Blackburn, they can add on Gent and Vale on loan for next season.
  14. What they can't see is whether McCrorie or McLaughlin are, as you said, better keepers than him. It's hard to lose goals when you never play.
  15. Maybe it won't. But if Halliday had finished the season in exactly the same way with Hearts instead of moving here, would anyone be thinking we should move for him? If Kettlewell is happy to give him a chance, fair enough, it's his call. If it goes wrong in the same way it did with Obika, folk will start to get pissed off.
  16. That could be 'thought' rather than 'thinks'. We can't afford another Obika.
  17. I think Steelboy's suggesting Halliday wouldn't hang around for a year if such a conversation took place, and I think he's probably right.
  18. If we're looking for someone to replicate what Gent did for us, Halliday's not the man.
  19. League and Cup double for Johnston & Biereth.
  20. I have Fraser Wishart on line one....
  21. Same as some others, somewhere in between. What's done is done. I don't want Kettlewell out, but I do expect improvements in the glaringly obvious areas next season.
  22. Very true. We finished 9th and conceded 69 goals the season prior to reaching both cup finals. It's always darkest just before you put ten bob in the meter.
  23. I suppose it depends on how often you've seen all this before. You don't need to be drawing your pension to remember a longer run without a win. A couple of seasons later we lifted the cup. The following year, a relegation fight. 2 years later, could've won the league. Real highs, real lows. I don't see anyone saying everything's great, but if anything, it's below average, not catastrophic or unprecedented. This season's history and it'll be all change by August, so why get our knickers in a twist about things we have no influence over? I'm hoping it's gonnae be one of those good years you never see coming.
  24. You'd think the keeper running out to congratulate him on blocking the shot might've been a wee give away, but our refs are too clever to fall for that.
