Do you have an example of a former player coming back with another team, scoring against or beating us and getting applauded by our fans, because I'm buggered if I can think of one.

I've never sat next to anyone who enjoyed seeing us getting beat, but there's a few on here who seem to thrive on it.

The tipping point for me will probably be if we lose our next two games. If that happens, any remaining reasonable argument for keeping him (too close to the window to bring someone else in/he deserves one more go) will no doubt give way to anger. Would the board feel the same way? The fact two of them are walking shortly themselves might save him if they or whoever is left in charge doesn't fancy the dirty work. Billy Reid survived 22 games without a win, relegation and failure to come straight back up at Hamilton, so anything's possible.

I don't disagree at all, but I think guys at our level understand how it works now and beggars can't be choosers. The only club that hasn't repeatedly sacked their managers is Celtic. Their domestic success brings different problems and they end up with the same stats as everyone else.

It may not make for good reading, but it's par for the course these days, so I'm not sure how much it would deter any intetested parties. The only SPL club who have had less than 4 managers since 2018 is Livingston. If Martindale's jaiket falls, they complete the set.

Martindale said he needs guys who are ready to go into the team now, and it's the same for us. No development players, no pet projects, no just coming back from a serious injury, no been sitting on their arse for months. Problem is, where do you find those guys in January? The obvious answer is, do what managers did in ye olde days - identify a decent player, then go and buy them. And then we all woke up....

I think we're about out returnees, player wise. I can't think of anyone we'd want to bring back and who would realistically come back. We gave it a go with Moult and it didn't work. Good luck to him, though he seems to be struggling after a good start in the Championship. By god, we could do with an Allan Campbell right now, but that really is just dreaming. The idea that we should be begging Stephen Robinson to come back as manager, as was suggested on here earlier, is obviously a non starter, for several reasons. The folk who are there now - or the ones who will be coming in - are the folk who will save us or not. I hope someone at Fir Park knows what the right move is.

What he proved before years of injuries took their toll has little or no bearing on the here and now. He hasn't scored in 8 games against opposition that is, unbelievably, of a lower standard than we're facing.
