I heard a rumour on Friday that Gillespie will be leaving Newcastle in the summer. While i know he may well have better offers on the table it's maybe worth an approach in the least.

That's garbage. The grass might be suffering at home but the surface is still flat. That pitch last night was like the public park, the ball was bobbling all over the shop when we tried to play passes. Just to clarify, I'm not at all blaming the pitch entirely for our lack of performance but it was certainly a contributory factor which suited Morton more than us. I could see from the first 10 minutes that this wasn't the game for Miller, he plays the silky kind of football that's only suited to good surfaces and he struggled to get involved from the start. That game required grafters and we didn't have enough at our disposal simple as that. On a positive note, Jack Vale looks like he could be a find.

I don't believe we're overdue a relegation. Yes we've looked vulnerable at times but ultimately we've prevailed and often finished the season strongly. I've seen enough of the league this season to believe we'll stay up. That said, if we don't get some regular investment from somewhere our future in the top division could well be under threat.

I'd rather we didn't break the bank for him. This is nothing but an example of an agent trying to create a bidding war. Let him go. I'd rather we spent a bit of the budget on keeping Spittal.
