What's that? Folk commenting on how absolutely pish we've been and how negative our tactics are?

Exactly…. I’m a bit of a happy clapper but there’s nothing to be positive about today. Poor set up, poor performance….. I’m absolutely gutted for the fans who went through blizzards to get there.

Yup. County fan on P&B saying they've had more snow overnight, with more forecast. They're not sure it'll be on.

Seems to be an Amber weather warning all day Saturday for snow and ice up north. I’d imagine it’ll be off, having players and fans traveling up there is too risky if it’s going to be that bad imo. Those roads are bad enough in good weather.

    I'd strongly disagree with this.

I went to a similar event here on Guernsey, listened to an hour of anecdotes and had a good chat with him afterwards as the token Motherwell supporter. I also bought his book, which he very kindly signed for me. Having read it, I really can't find any fault in him. The blame seems to lie with Boyle himself as a well-intentioned but fairly clueless owner and his holding company Hamilton.

I bought his books too which annoyed me slightly as I was putting more money in his pockets. I did however find them interesting.

Boyle as discussed was obviously the main culprit but Nevin tried to deflect absolutely everything on him which I disagreed with. He was responsible for some of the mercenaries we employed and also responsible for their pay. An example being Tony Thomas the crock from Tranmere who played a few games for us and got £4K a week over a 3yr period.

i think Nevin is a smart guy and can pull the wool over many peoples eyes as folk think he’s honest. I don’t. Even his best mate McLair has made a few comments about Nevin spinning the truth. I thought Mclair was quite funny actually when he was talking about this and how Nevin went on and on about attending university when he was actually at a college.

anyway, it’s just my view, don’t trust the bloke, never forgave him for him taking a Chanel 5 job to commentate on an English game the same night we played Chievo to help with funds following our administration. Not something I’d have expected from our CEO as he still was at that time. Charlatan.

Attended an event at Motherwell library tonight with Pat Nevin talking about his time at MFC and other clubs. His new book was for sale also.

I had an older friend, sadly no longer with us,  who was very critical of PN during his time at the club so it was interesting to hear the latter's  version of things.

    Whom to believe, eh?

I’d go with your old friend.

if Pat Nevin was to tell you what day it was, I would always check the calendar after to be sure.

he lives in his own Par Nevin little world.

There was an article I read about Lennon Miller where our former player Bailey Rice was mentioned. The article suggested that as youngsters Lennon and Bailey were seen to be on a par. Bailey chose to go to Rangers where he seems to have disappeared. A lesson there for any aspiring youngster.

The bare facts were that Rice was clearly ahead of Lennon in the pecking order. Losing him to Rangers I know was a real gut wrench to the academy coaches.

a few years later and we have a lad who has played almost 50 first team games for us, captained the club and has teams all over Europe looking at him.
While Rice has played a handful of irrelevant minutes (a 5mins here and there in dead rubber games) and is rotting in a B select side somewhere.

this is definitely the example we need to be sending out to youngsters and especially their parents, regardless of whether they have blue or green tinted specs, in this bigot ridden country.

I'm more worried about how tired he looked in the u19 game.

Another 2 games in 7 days which I'm assuming he will play in.

Boy looks as if he needs a rest.

It’s admirable that he wants to play but I agree. He’s had a lot of football this year and I think this should be managed slightly better. I personally think Kettlewell should have been informing him to not get involved in these u19 games as they will not benefit him in the slightest.

Please no, would rather see him.go abroad and especially not to that mob where he wouldn't get game time.

Yeah I’d love to see him head off to Spain Germany or Italy, I think he’s more suited to that style.

they seem to see him as a replacement for Hatate who will be off at the end of the season. But I don’t see them as similar players at all.

i just hope it is talk and a prompt for teams outwith Scotland to make a move. It would be a waste seeing him go to Celtic. At least we know rangers can’t afford him.

  8. He’s a Young hard working manager who has built a decent back room team, he’s not went down the old pals route and went for people he didn’t know but knew of their good reputation. A risky thing to do.

improved players and made money out them (van veen) Bought Bair and made him Better and made us a million.

He’s given young players a chance cementing their place in the first team and improving the clubs survival by inevitably selling these players on, ensuring the clubs financial footing.

We are sitting in a healthy position in the league and did well in the cup getting to the semi. Ultimately failing but we weren’t too far off? Still have another cup ahead of us.

i personally think he’s doing well as a manager (stats prove that) and would be really curious from the people who want him out as to who they would chose to do better?
I asked this last year and we had Courts, Levein and Tommy wright mentioned. Looking at the 3 brought up to replace him I just think thank fk some of our fan base don’t chose managers.

  9. Just in and gutted

a real wasted opportunity and we made a very average side look good.

the double sub was utterly bizarre? Robinson and Tavares couldn’t even hold the ball up never mind do or create anything positive.

disappointing day. Fans were great though and supported the team throughout, even without anything to get excited about in the 2nd half.

Great honour for young Lennon but I Just hope the added responsibility doesn't affect his game.   Casey or Halliday would have been other options for captain.

However you get the feeling young Lennon will take it in his stride.

    COYW

I don’t think there’s big weight on the heading of captain for smaller provincial clubs, I think it tends to be more looking after tickets on match days etc and I have no doubt McGinn will still be dealing with that even tho he’s injured.

We have more vocal guys there who are more captain like in Gordon, Halliday and Casey etc so I don’t see the burden affecting him. If anything it’s a great move for the club as Lennon being a club captain at 18 will add a few quid on to his eventual transfer fee.

i just hope we don’t freeze, the talk there about the last rangers cis final has given me the fear, can we not just concentrate on the semi and Moults goals…. No more Vietnam flashbacks of big Marshall allowed please

  11. We can’t let them settle and take control of the game. As players their nerves will be jangling after that Aberdeen defeat so we need to be in their faces from the off and just try and keep possession of the ball.

dont like to get over excited but we do have a chance here. I’m not sure whether I want chief zombie clement fired now or him kept for Sunday. My gut is for him to stay and we’ll be his final nail in the coffin.
