Take that back actually…. Falkirk in the final 30mins have been excellent. Can’t believe they haven’t won that game. a draw is good for us though, can’t complain.
-
Falkirk aren’t playing very well which is good with our game coming up and rangers are huffing and puffing. As you say a draw would be ideal
-
I’ve just watched that hibs v Celtic game and I’m half way through the Falkirk v rangers game and no one can tell me otherwise that we don’t play better football than this lot. Trying hard to keep my claret and amber specs off here but if it wasn’t for Celtic having Maeda and Hatate (when he fancies it) we could really challenge if we get a bit of luck and stay injury free.

He can’t stand Motherwell, I think he was knocked back for our managers post years ago and has never gotten over it. its always the same group of people and ex players and ex managers that have a pop at us. You know them a mile off, hoof ball ex managers (and current ones such as Robinson who made derisory comments) ex players who had little technical ability, Dodds, Craigan etc etc and the press who are best mates with the haddy Scottish managers, who have failed us for years. I think we are getting good general press by current players and players who have maybe recently retired who are aware that football needs to change in this country. We can’t run about headless elbowing folk and sliding into tackles anymore at the top level, that’s what junior football is for.

It’s just as well that every team we’ve played against this season have saved their most dismal performance for us!!! Every fkn week I’m listening to the same nonsense online and via the media. Sitting listening to this sky sports stuff and it’s how hibs were rotten against us, hearts were rotten against us, earlier in the season Rangers were rotten, Celtic were rotten….. thank god they didn’t perform against us…. Or are we actually ok?

This will be a really difficult game, probably the most difficult in this current run of games. Falkirk are a decent side that play good football. Fair play to McGlynn who seems to want to play the JBA way too. its also on the plastic as well so I’d be happy with a draw here and then a win against livi on Saturday.

You can only get away playing that style of football for so long, I’ve said this for years, you get some good results and an element of success but in the end people get fed up of watching it and players get fed up if playing it …..and then wheels come off.

McGinn was phenomenal today, played at a level I didn’t think he was capable of. He got my vote but Welsh was outstanding as well. to be fair, they all put in a tremendous shift, a few were a bit off if I thought, longello, slattery but they worked their ar5es off and I can’t complain too much.

Not long in from the game and I can’t remember watching a more enjoyable and exciting 0-0 in my life. I thought we were excellent for about 3/4 of that game. We lost our way for about 20mins in the 2nd half but we pulled it back and took control again against a difficult big tough side. id have taken a point before the match but felt a little irked at the end as we did have some good chances. I did feel we were a bit slow with changes as it was clear after 60mins a few of the players were done but a tremendous effort from all and a great crowd. and McInnes is a wee short arsed Oompa Loompa ar5ehole, clyping to security at the end about a guy in the main stand. Pathetic wee rat.

Been up for this and looking forward to it all week and I get up this morning and have that feeling of dread. Textbook Motherwell supporter

I have literally no idea what team is going out on Saturday and I think this is quite exciting rather than daunting. We don’t have a striker (in my view Hendry isn’t good enough)but we have the leagues top goalscorer and we have 7 excellent midfielders to choose from. defensively we might have Longello back but Johnny K and Sparrow did extremely well the other night and Welsh Gordon and McGinn are doing good at the moment. Jambos have a few injury doubts including max headroom so bring it on!!!

Celtic and Rangers aren’t playing until Sunday either. I know quite a number of them from both sides who regularly go along to fir park when their “big team” aren’t playing. Might swell the crowd a bit too. i actually spoke to an old duffer of a Celtic fan last week who said he’d stopped going to Celtic games altogether and goes to all the Motherwell home games now… said it was a better experience as it’s been poisonous at parkhead….. didn’t want to say to him that it’s been poisonous forever at parkhead.

Tickets bought, looking forward to it. What a difference wandering into work these days, playing lovely football, a real positive feeling about the manager, players, club in general. someone posted the starting 11 at the same time last season on Twitter and my god we have come a long way. the blip was the semi final but it’s clear there have been lessons learned from it.
-
I see the whole Celtic management team were there last night. Surely they must look at their central defence and think it’s criminal to have let go of Welsh. I am a little concerned that they’ll want him back in January even though I think he was meant to be here for the season. the annoying thing is their fans think he’s hopeless and they will treat him like sh1t if he does go back there. He seems have have gotten a new lease of life at fir park…. We need him to stay.
-
Iniesta for me……. Sorry Priestman, my mistake. The lad had a blinder. TJ was excellent too …. Totally rattled them in the first half and Welsh is the best defender we’ve had in years.
-
I saw that he definitely dug him out but they both ended up smiling….. I liked it
-
That was phenomenal….. wonderful display!! only negative point is we should have extended the lead in the 2nd half and I’m not enjoying Hendry and his constant moaning and complaining at teammates anyway, can only be happy with that and god knows what the possession stats were? Must have been close to 70% absolutely delighted for priestman and for us that we have a potentially excellent young player. This will push on slattery, Fadinger and watt as well as they’ll know there is a player to replace them if they under perform. and We need to buy Welsh, the boy has hardly put a foot wrong since joining
-
100%…. As I said above, it’s been brilliant so far, not to tempt fate.
-
Well My ghast is completely flabbered….. that was absolutely fkn outstanding…… outstanding we do not have a failure on that park, and young Priestman? I never saw that happening….. he’s strutting about there like iniesta. imagine how we’d play if we had our first team on there….. JBA….. take a bow for that selection and set up…… Jesus I think we may have a “special one” here we need another goal tho lol🤣
-
Personally I think Fadinger holds that midfield together but he does need rested. Be interesting to see how we look without him.
-
Im just hoping the plan isn’t to be heavily beaten
-
Totally agree, I think this is an utterly crazy line up. This will be a really tough game and that’s like a second string side. I get the need for resting players etc but this is a wholesale change. I think JBA has this all wrong tonight. Be delighted to be proved wrong so we will see. Not sure if he’s trying to be overly clever here?
-
What on earth does he ask for at the barbers? “A short back and gloss please” he is a danger right enough, him and Bowie will cause us problems
-
I know what you mean but I do think he’s been carrying an injury, I thought his movement was significantly better on Saturday. Outwith his penalties his other goals are proper strikers goals. There is a good player there, it may just be he’s not suited to our style of play and I think that’s the same for Hendry, unless it’s going to take a bit of time for strikers to get used to it? I have a feeling he’ll start tomorrow
-
I actually thought that Stama did well when he came on at the weekend and looked sharper and quicker than he has done? Maybe his injury that he’s been having bother with has cleared up or he’s been at a sprint coach or something but I’d play him from the start. I still think he’s a better and cleverer player than Hendry. i was glad also that he took the penalty away from Maswanhise. Showed confidence and belief that’s he’s the striker, he’s the penalty taker.
