Gary McAllister's name hasn't been mentioned, Good contacts down south, ex 'Well man, experience of managing a club with no money. Knows the game quite well up here due to the BT sports gig!! worth a punt??
-
Totally agree with this, Managers are a different animal to players (although Davies was apparently a greedy little fecker so he may be ruled out) Coyle's whole career has never been money driven and a club like Motherwell may suit him.
-
Would struggle to mentally cope with someone like Leitch, Black, Calderwood, Shiels or Craigan in charge!! I fear it would push me over the edge!! would love to see a sober Burley in charge, Owen Coyle would be great but wage could be an issue or I would accept Mcghee back although he is a bit of a sac.
-
Nice statement from McCall, was never a huge fan, probably due to my dislike of all things Rangers but he's done an undoubted good job with us. It is a shame it went a bit baws up this season but it was always going to happen regardless of what manager was in charge!! The very best of luck to him and I wish him all the best at Palace (as i'd imagine its lined up). Possibly get a few Crystal Palace reserve players up to gain match experience!!
-
Famous last words but much happier with the look of the team tonight, Reid and Law not in the starting line up and we look quite attacking!! if we cant get a win tonight against a depleted St Johnstone, then we are well and truly F**D
-
I have no doubt Josh Law is a nice guy and a hard trainer however I find it embarrassing that an average conference footballer who played with a below average conference team, in the depths of Derbyshire should be anywhere near playing regularly in the Scottish top flight!! I recognise the Scottish top flight is not the best but I can only see this as Mcall doing a favour for Laws father, reeks a bit of Billy Davies bringing in his brother John......who was equally as pish!!
-
To be fair to Sutton, we could replace him with Drogba just now and he'd equally ineffective!! Sutton is not the type of player to create chances, he never has been, he needs service and when that happens he becomes effective!! unfortunately we have no creative players in the midfield. Lasley and Carswell aren't those types of players and Josh Law is what he is, a Conference player. Ainsworth could create but he doesn't look arsed and Vigurs, even when fit, fannies about too much, although I do appreciate he's talented. I have a horrible feeling things will get worse before they get better, another few weeks of pish ahead until the sick notes get back.
-
I would normally make the trip down to Kilmarnock but decided against it during the week, way too much negativity from McCall re: astro pitch, always feeds its way down to the players producing a "Can't do" attitude!! I realise we have another 45 mins to play but I cant see it happening, damage has been done days ago!!
-
Hearts are not blessed with many "happy clapper" supporters on that site!! Hollis is taking a pounding!! ha Cant argue with many of their posts though, he is, and always has been a Howlin keeper!!
-
Good luck to him at Hearts, but i'm glad to see the back of him!! still baffled as to why McCall played him at the tail end of last season when Neilsen was starting to look quite good!! I think we now have two decent goalies but I still think Neilsen has potential to be excellent, if he gets a run of games.....doubt that'll ever happen now tho!!
-
it was certainly up there with the Malpas era today but i'm hoping it'll be a one off, McCall is a far better manager than Malpas could ever be so i'll we'll be looking to see an improvement next week, which i'm sure there will be. Ive been to all the games so far this season and it concerns me of the real lack of ideas, we definitely miss a player like McFadden who was always capable of changing games. Even looking at set pieces its a total free for all, we had 2 good free kick opportunities in the 2nd half and twice we seen Sutton and then Lasley just balloon the ball against the wall, it just looked very amateur. In fairness to ICT, they are not a bad team, big strong and organised and decent on the ball, they were streets ahead of us today!!
-
Worst performance I've seen at Fir Park for a good 10 years!! Utterly Rotten!! Could only really give pass marks to McManus and I thought Erwin did well considering McCall had him playing in 3 different positions in the duration of the match!! I anticipate a very long and frustrating season!!
-
The only player I've ever seen trying to "run off" a broken leg!! lasted 5 minutes before realising it wasn't going to heal itself!! ha I think that was against Hibs, so you were probably right that it would have been that wee animal Miller that did him!!
-
Erwin by a country mile!! wasn't too sure about the big fella when I first saw him, but he worked his arse off today, lead the line very well and took his goal well. Not greatly convinced by anyone else other than a decent performance by the keeper, although I still think he's too wee for a goalie!! Excellent 3 points!!
-
I think we gained quite a bit in Portugal, if you seen some of the You Tube footage you'd have seen some of the players brushing up their football Golf game!! Being able to pass a ball into a 6ft wide hole will stand us in great stead for the rest of the season!! I just hope that Davie Clarkson re-imbursed the club for his plane fare/bed and board!!
-
Glad the boys got an extra 2 weeks off now during the summer!! We're clearly reaping the rewards of them having an extra couple of weeks on a beach eating and guzzling shite. Completely ill prepared, unfit, unprofessional and an utter embarrassment!!
-
Pathetic....utterly pathetic!!
-
Very poor stuff tonight against a part time side with a 15 stone 5 ft 7 striker!! Worried that our elder statesmen are on the road oot! Lasley was as poor as ive ever seen him tonight and hammell looks a stone overweight and i lost count of the number of times he was raped down that left side tonight, the amount of chances created by stjarnan down that side was frightening, but as someone said earlier vigurs may not have helped this. Cant see us going through now which would be criminal, but lets hope rik waller up front has a heavy pre match dinner and is out of sorts!! And i hope mccall is now looking at their no 17, best player on the park by a mile!
-
He looked like he's always looked, a first division striker!! I am annoyed with the Clarkson position, he's sitting on the bench as a trialist with Killie when he wants to be a Fir Park! (feedback from a connected party) I would have thought some of our finances from the Anier deal could have freed up some cash for him. We need someone urgently to support Sutton as Erwin is just a big raw boy!! Young Thomas looked capable and enthusiastic today, a number of first team games and some work on his strength he may well have a good future. Law looked very average. The keeper had a total howler for the goal but apart from that I actually thought he played very well. Tough game to be fair today as Fulham have some excellent players, their number 3 was the best full back ive seen in years, No-one could get past him!! and big Hutch looked solid, good luck to him down there!!
-
Absolutely shocked we managed to punt Anier for a 6 figure sum!! What a deal, well done to whoever sorted that one!! Cant see it being anymore than £100k but for a guy who cost us hee haw 12 months ago and didn't get many starts its incredible. Good luck to him, don't know how good the basement of the 2nd division in Germany is, but it'll probably be a much higher standard than the SPFL.
-
Langfield stood static and jumped expecting to collect it without a challenge, Unbelievably weak goalkeeping!! The majority of the Aberdeen fans are saying exactly the same on their Footymad forum. Perfectly good goal Roon them!!
-
Absolutely incredible season considering our budget, a massive thank you to the players and McCall who deserve more credit than they get. I doubt in my lifetime I will see another 70 point season, so i'm going to tan some drink tonight and enjoy it!! Europe AGAIN!!!!!! Amazing!!
-
keep expecting the worst from Hollis, he really is a hazard!! Pretty murder game to watch so far but we're still in it, Faddy on at the 60 minute mark and go for it....Aberdeen aren't that good!! good noise and number from the fans, great to see.
-
Just cant see him going to Sevco, more likely down to the somewhere like Sheffield Utd or something. One of my favourite players over the past 10 years, when he broke through under Gannon I thought we had a future £1m player. A few injuries later and months out the team due to Craig Brown not fancying him and he'd gone back a bit. As much as I still like him I don't think he's improved as much as he should've by 24yrs old. He still looks like a big raw boy at times. Would love to see him stay but if he goes... he goes, with all the best wishes from everyone i'm sure!!
-
I will be shocked if our kit is a subtle and classy number, Macron have a history of Bowfin kits!! I do think this years kit is the worst in a long time tho (Hummell away 1990s standard) so hopefully it'll be slightly better than that one!! hopefully we've made some money out the deal, as that's the main issue.
