He's done his time in scotland and coming back here on loan no matter which club, won't improve him anymore as a player,a loan move to serie b would be the best option for him of it was possible.

Yeah, a well-chosen loan would keep his development moving and maybe get him closer to the Udinese manager’s plans, but a return to the SPL would be a clear step backwards.

I think there’s maybe an issue with him settling by the sounds of it. Although it does surprise me a bit as I watched Slanes you tube thing and Lennon had said all communication is in English between the players and management so you’d think it’d be much easier for him.
I have watched Udinese a few times and they are a good side and they are a massive team, all units who are all mobile and good on the ball. Lennon still just looks (and is) a young boy. But I do agree a move back to Scotland would be backwards step. It’s a difficult one for him.

You got to wonder why they bought him if hes apparently not ready.

For a club like Udinese spending £4 or £5 million on a young player to develop etc is loose change to them. He was brought in as a project and not as a regular 1st pick starter as most on here thought he would be, he will get his chance.

I understand what you are saying but i wonder what they told Miller. Who it seems only wanted to go to a team where he learns and plays. Hopefully works out for him. But any return on loan to scotland would be a backwards step.

Thats the thing that is making me scratch my head.

He and his dad said he wanted to go to a team where he would play regularly so Udinese must have told him he would?

I expect they did, and I don't doubt it was in good faith. But if he hasn't shown enough in training or whatever, then they're entitled to change their mind. Every footballer knows they have to earn their game time.

Considering that it normally takes a player 6 months at least to settle at a new club I don’t see too much of a problem.
Yes he could have had more game time but he’s a young man so maybe the adjustment will take longer.

A loan move to Serie B would be ideal. He needs game time if he has chance of World Cup squad

He needs to be focusing on playing football, not worrying about World Cups.

Surely the two are the same thing?

Not really.

When you aren't getting a game, you need to be doing exactly what is asked by your manager and coaches to get into the first team. No other distractions.

Once you're in the first team and playing regularly, you can start thinking about doing enough to get into the national squad.
